When I moved to the Granite Bay area, I visited Dr. Bannai for the first time as I was interested in finding a dentist that was closer to where I reside. The office was clean, the staff was friendly, and my first impression was good. During my exam, Dr. Bannai stressed to me that I needed multiple crowns -- one of them "urgent." He provided me a "treatment plan" that was extremely stressful and expensive. I've always been meticulous about my dental health throughout my life, as well as visiting my previous dentist every six months, and I've never been told I needed crowns prior. This visit with Dr. Bannai really concerned me as I thought something was seriously wrong with my teeth all of a sudden. I decided to go back to my previous dentist for a second opinion. After reviewing Dr. Bannai's treatment plan as well as a full exam, my previous dentist laughed and mentioned it appears Dr. Bannai needs a new boat and did not agree whatsoever with his "treatment plan". I was blown away to hear this, but also relieved that I did not need all this work done. I later returned to Dr. Bannai's office for a separate appointment that I had booked previously for picking up my night guards. He of course asked me if I had booked an appointment to get the "urgent" crown taken care of. I politely mentioned that I visited my previous dentist and showed him the treatment plan, and he mentioned that he did not agree with the need for the urgent crown or multiple crowns in the near future currently. Dr. Bannai immediately became defensive and rude, and shortly after, I was handed a letter dismissing me from the practice and noting to visit one of his "buddies" if I wanted to see another dentist in the area. Honestly, I would never continue to see him for dentistry in the future due to this experience anyhow, just wanted to pick up my night-guards that I paid for. I left this office feeling shocked and disappointed. I believe patients should feel comfortable seeking second opinions without fear of being treated unprofessionally or dismissed. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here. Also, just to note, it's been 7 years since this experience and no crowns and no issues with my teeth to date. Beware of Dr. Bannais aggressive and inappropriate plans for drilling away at teeth that may not be necessary.

No one calls from the office anymore and only uses texts - it came to the point that my daughters' dental appointments were pushed out OVER A YEAR and then canceled appointment via miscommunication on text - stating I did not respond and no one bothered to call for clarification. When I called the wife owner tried to say the girls would not be seen for another SEVEN months. I used to love this dentist and his family practice but over the years the quality and attention to detail has gone way down and when I tried to talk to the owner's wife I was just told to go elsewhere instead of remedying the situation. It is extremely disappointing when we have worked with this family since 2007.

However, today I had an experience where Dr. Wallace and his staff really went above and beyond that I really wanted to share. I had a filling come out last Friday, and when I called Monday morning to book an appointment, was told that I would be seen for diagnosis only, and the treatment would have to be scheduled in at a later date. You can imagine my surprise when upon looking at the tooth Dr. Wallace said he could take care of it today. He and his assistant got me very well numbed, got the filling replaced and got me out of there in less than 40 minutes. Thanks to them I am now pain free again AND was able to still make it in to work on time today. They easily could have scheduled me to come back at a later time, and their willingness to do this today made such a difference in my life this week. I cannot recommend this dental office and the entire team there highly enough, you all are amazing!!

The receptionist that answered the phone was very kind and patient and just overall had a very sweet calm tone. Very pleasant to speak with someone that wasn't going to try and rush me off the phone. I was able to get in by the end of the week and I called on a Tuesday, I was in that Thursday afternoon. Angela was super sweet in trying to help me with the insurance stuff (I read my insurance stuff wrong and she wasn't mad at me lol) and she was very pleasant to work with. So I get there and the office is very clean and the staff is awesome, everyone is super cool and very kind. I tend to be a chatterbox if I'm comfortable somewhere so they chatted with me :) I was asked my preferred name which is great, cause I do not like my first name, I prefer my nickname better cause it's just easier for everyone all the way around :) X-rays were easy and the girl helping me (sorry I forgot your name!) was awesome, she was super mellow and just made the entire experience great :) the dentist is a very nice man and told me what I needed to work on and when to come back. No nonsense, I needed to work on X Y and Z, and then I had my teeth polished by another awesome staff member and I was finished. She was very mellow and chill too. Loved it! Really really happy I found this dentist office, with my insurance it's affordable to get everything done that I need to get done for my oral health and I'm actually excited about going back just because everyone is mellow and chill and easy to get along with and the dentist is super nice. I'm going to find out if they accept my fiancé's dental insurance so he can go here for his dental health. I highly recommend this dentist and his office. I do not recommend Dr. Igor Babenkov or this dental office for Invisalign or orthodontic treatment…read more My treatment lasted over a year and a half, but my teeth were only molded once, many trays were lost, and my teeth are still crooked in the back of my front teeth. They may look straight from the front but the inner alignment is off because there wasn't enough room in my jaw. The treatment felt rushed and like shortcuts were taken, which caused my bite to be misaligned and led to TMJ issues. When I asked for corrections, they tried to charge me extra for procedures that should have been included in the treatment. Communication and billing were also problematic. Yelena at the front desk, who has worked there for many years, seems to manipulate paperwork or bills to charge patients who question treatment or express dissatisfaction. She works very closely with Dr. Babenkov, and if he shows even slight frustration, she will try to find a way to bill you. In their communications, they make sure to squeeze every penny, even if they initially offer you a "good deal" to lock you into Invisalign treatment. Don't fall for their manipulation it's grimy and scandalous. Dr. Babenkov often mentions his training in Germany and expertise, but the treatment felt rushed and careless, without proper planning. As a result, I now have TMJ related discomfort, a misaligned bite, and forehead wrinkles from jaw tension all caused by their poor treatment. Even three years after my treatment and wearing retainers I still experience jaw and forehead pain because of TMJ issues that weren't addressed properly. Honestly, to make up for this, they'd need to pay me a year's worth of Starbucks gift cards (an inside joke because the office used to give them to patients for reviews) and a years of Botox for the wrinkles caused by their treatment. Overall, I do not feel this office handles orthodontic care responsibly. My treatment caused lasting problems, discomfort, and unexpected costs. If you don't want permanent jaw pain, to have to see an oral surgeon like me, or TMJ issues, do not go here. I cannot recommend this office. I would never go back. *** When I asked the doctor to fix the crooked teeth, he moved my teeth without explaining the risks, precautions, or even asking for my consent. Afterwards, the office tried to charge me $78, claiming it was for a "filling," which clearly was not the case and Yelena proceeded to tell me "I received treatment after my Invisalign treatment timeline was over" LIKE WHAT the only reason I had that appointment was to tell the Dr. my teeth were still misaligned! The only reason I went to this office in the first place was because someone highly recommended it and made it sound better than it actually was. I honestly didn't even want to go here, and now I regret that decision.*** ALL I CAN SAY NOW IS DONT DO IT.

To start, Dina at the front desk is awesome. She has been there for as long as I can remember and she knows her stuff. Throughout the years I have changed insurance probably 5 different times and Dina always handles all of the paperwork/billing flawlessly. She is prompt about calling to confirm your appointment and is just about the darn nicest person you'll ever meet. My hygienist that performs my teeth cleanings is Jennifer and she is awesome. She is thorough, talkative, and friendly and doesn't rush through the cleaning but also doesn't draw the whole thing out. She makes the whole experience easy and entertaining. I have also had Pam as my hygienist before and she is equally as great as Jennifer. Dr. Jaeger is perhaps the most honest, no-nonsense person that I have ever met - dentist or not. He does not coddle you or make mindless conversation. He gets right to the point and does not waste any unnecessary time. He is a wonderful dentist that knows exactly what he is doing. His goal is to make your teeth the best they can be with as little pain, time, and money as possible. If you're on the lookout for a new dentist, give Dr. Jaeger a call.
