Michaela did a wonderful job undertaking eight orders for a graveside service with less than 4 days notice (emailed Thursday night for Tuesday late morning). Each were designed beautifully. Some flowers were fully opened (still beautiful) while others were young and fresh. One wreath was to be Graceful Wreath but turned out to be Serenity Wreath, but it's okay, still beautiful. Same price. Thinking possibly not enough colorful flowers to pull it off. Two of the sprays were missing their cards when brought to the gravesite by the memorial park personnel. The florist delivered to the memorial park office. I called (it was at 6pm after closing) with the intention of leaving my orders on their answering machine but their voice message directed me to place my order via email. It's a smart request to ensure that orders placed is correct and names are spelled correctly. Also delivery information is not misunderstood. Was surprised, and pleased, receiving a reply at almost 8pm that same day, with confirmation that we would connect by phone for payment info the next day. I needed some flowers for a birthday within 2 hrs. They had lots of options and the end result was beautiful. The designer was very busy. in the future, would've like her to give me some options e.g. we have some peonies... I saw some peonies when I came to pick up and they were gorgeous but not part of what I picked up. The Friday before Easter and my sister-in-law had major surgery yesterday at Stanford Hospital. I looked for a local Florist and hoped someone would have time to run an arrangement over. I rarely order flowers and this was a first for my son delivering flowers to his girlfriend, so we really wanted to make it special. We went to Michaela's website at 6:30 PM and ordered 18 long-stemmed pink roses to be delivered the next day. The next day came and at noon we were wondering what time the flowers would be delivered. I called and spoke with a young lady that knew nothing about the order, but after asking around she said they'd be delivered sometime after 1 pm. I was hoping they would be delivered a little earlier, but okay. 3 PM rolls around, I call again and was told they would call the delivery guy to see if they were delivered. I get a call back a half hour later asking if I wanted to order some flowers. I said that they had already been ordered and asked if they had been delivered. I was placed on hold and when the girl returned she told me they were left on the porch because no one was home. Odd, but someone was home all day - I knew because I was texting her. Finally, around 5 PM we get a message from the recipient saying thanks for the flowers. Then she sends a picture of some white roses with red streaks in them. Um...we ordered 18 pink roses and this bunch didn't look anything like the picture. I understand if you have to substitute flowers for a small Spring arrangement, but roses are a staple in the delivery biz and if a customer orders pink roses for $143, that's what should be delivered. I am really disappointed that the kind flowers I received for Mother's Day were dead within 24 hours. The flowers looked tired when I received them - 20 mins after they were picked up. Sure enough within hours they looked worse and by the next day sad and depressing. We chose them specifically to support a local florist. But reality is the internet flowers I received a month ago were still going strong on day 10. Shame. And no offer to replace them. No recommendation and no return for us. read more

I was really in the dog house when I forgot to call my mom on Valentine's Day. In order to rectify the situation I knew it was going to take more than a phone call and a hug, it was going to take flowers. I was immediately greeted when I came in with smiles and friendly faces. I explained my situation and was given a bounty of great recommendations. While Daffodils were not in season (moms favorite) Michaelas had a wide variety of beautiful flowers. I ultimately settled with a bouquet of roses, a staple of Valentines Day. They prepared it very quickly and it looks absolutely wonderful. I have loved this place for years because their service is excellent, they get the instructions immediately and it only takes one phone call for them to get it right. What I love most about this place though, is their generosity with the flowers. A lot of time you look at the photos and when you see the actual arrangement in person or through a photo that the recipient sent, it doesn't look like the photos at all, OR the flowers lacked quality, quantity and misleading. I have never had this problem with Michaela's. If anything the actual arrangement looked 100% better than the photo, flowers were more plentiful, fresher and quality and arrangements passed my expectations. I never worry about how they will look or if I'm getting what I paid for. They're a little more pricey than other florists, but overall I was very satisfied with the outcome. read more

I hate to knock this place as I've used them before, but what was advertised (see picture) wasn't delivered. These flowers were for my mother and I chose the premium upgrade to $94. (with delivery and tax, it was $119). What was delivered looked like it was just thrown together and maybe missed the abundance for the "premium" upgrade. Very sad. My mom did appreciate them, but I feel like they didn't even care at the flower shop. They even forgot the bow! I specifically order from local shops vs. using the annoyances of FTD and Pro Flowers. Very disappointed in the service I received. I have been a repeat customer for many years and have spent a lot of money with Michaelas Flower Shop. Recently surprised my girlfriend with flowers which costed me $150.00 they were delivered later than promised and were nothing like the picture that I ordered. The flowers were supposed to be white but in fact were yellow. Big difference when sending flowers to a girlfriend. Florists nowadays tend to agree that yellow flowers represent emotions like joy, friendship, hope and truth. When I mentioned this to them, they further wanted to embarrass me by picking up the flowers. Nothing was mentioned of re-doing the flower arrangement. I decided to let them keep the money and not use there service ever again. I made this a point to share this with others, I think its new ownership and quality sucks! read more

I think I said something like, "simple, with some greens added on". The bouquet, regardless of my vague request, came out exactly as I had imagined, and I was so happy! (See the picture I uploaded) I am giving this place a 4-star and not a 5 because, on the morning when I was to pick up the flowers, one of the partners was late due to a car failure. That is fine and it happens, but I was a little disappointed that the other partner didn't even acknowledge that there was a deadline they had to meet. I complained, and he was extremely nice and offered to deliver the flowers directly to the office, which was super nice and was done promptly too. So regardless of the faux-pas, I will definitely be back here again. The flowers they used were fresh and lasted over a week, too! read more

I normally like this shop and the flowers they provide, and have since the time they were Stapleton's - thus the four stars. The one I just received 2 days ago, however, was not the usual standard. For example, the hydrangeas had totally wilted because their stems were not cut - woody stems need to have a slit in them so water gets to the flower head. Within one day these were gone. A florist should know that - it takes very little effort and helps the flowers last for a long time. Same with lilacs. Anyway, The bouquet was disappointing - and if the friend who sent them knew that, she would not be happy. read more
