Made major appliance purchase, and have major concerns with Michael's Appliance. First - I was not notified of delivery until 4pm previous day - thankfully delivery was a Saturday and would be home all day. Second - Had one appliance interfere with a cabinet, the installs just yelled to me in the next room Hey there is a problem with this appliance fitting. Did not offer any suggestions. Third - I had minimal training on their operations. Fourth - I had to read the instructions for the appliance to find I could lower the box and doors to allow my cabinet to open and eliminate the non-fit issue Fifth - Called Sales Rep at 2pm of my issue (before reading booklet), 2 days later still have not heard back. I bought a dishwasher 1 and a half years ago from Michael's. They didn't have the high-end brand I wanted in stock so the salesperson convinced me to go with another brand (Electrolux) she claimed was even better. Big mistake. They promised me a manufacturer rebate which never came. Now, there are rust spots on the steel front under the factory applied coating. Michael's says there's nothing they can do because the warranty "doesn't cover rust"... no response on the rebate after several attempts. Now Michael's won't respond to me anymore. Not worth the trip or the one star I am giving. Pretty much a waste of a trip that was recommended by someone else who has shopped here in the past. My husband and I were in looking for all appliances for our entire home build. Completely walked the store within 10 minutes and not once was approached or asked if we needed assistance. It has been a while since I heard not good things until. Ow when I just experienced them myself. They set a delivery timeframe from 2-4 but did not arrive until almost 5 and no one bothered to call and let us know. This after calling at 3:30 to inquire of the delivery. Or yet made. Upon delivery, doors needed to be removed to fit one doorway. This is not the issue assuming a competent individual knew what they were doing. Alas, it all hinges on competency. When the doors were reattached, the seal on the freezer door was practically pulled off the door frame. I'm told all they will do is replace the seal. Absolutely not. This is a brand new refrigerator and should not need repair BEFORE it's even plugged in. This is unacceptable. No other options were provided not even discounting - not that that would have been acceptable. What they seem to not realize is that within 30 miles are five each of big brand home improvement stores and a select few appliance specific retailers just like Michael's. In addition to the poor mishandling of the appliance, I now have to clean and hopefully NOT repaint the scuffs and dirt left on several walls due to their not having clean hands. I mean we are in a pandemic - hand sanitizer is a thing you would think they would know about. I would give them zero stars if I could. UPDATE: came and removed broken appliance. The original 3 star review has been dropped to 1 star because my $800 microwave has completely started to fall apart just one year after purchasing. The entire door handle came off, as well as the top vent. Tried calling Michael's several times, never got a call back. Also important to note that we had to have their techs in for our fridge as well; this was like 6 months after purchasing, and there was apparently not much that could be done about the obnoxiously loud knocking sound the fridge makes at random times. read more

We were going on 5 months trying to get our dishwasher fixed. The brand was recommended by Michael's. The problem was not the issue with getting parts. The repair man messed up twice, once not putting in the door properly resulting in a flood, a few times will we figured out that the water was coming out the door. Once they got the wrong part they said, another time they broke the part putting it in the machine. I would never buy anything there again. read more

Worst purchasing experience of a high end product ever! Bought a $5000 stove. Delivered Thursday, oven not working properly upon delivery. I bought extended service and clearly under warranty. Called and spoke to Dina sales person and service. I was told they couldn't schedule me for service for almost a month for a brand new product from them that is not working! I was told I should call the manufacturer maybe they could help me faster. I requested information on returning the item and they sent me to voicemail 4 times. Any renovation in the house is always stressful. After having an extremely bad experience at Best Buy (we had to cancel the order) we were frustrated and didn't know where else to go. Our kitchen designer suggested Michael's. It was a blessing to have Colette M. Foley as our sales representative. She was very professional. Our appliances came way before our kitchen and they had no problem to store it for us. Delivery service was great too. They came on time, were very careful, and polite. My boyfriend and I purchased a highly recommended Speed Queen washer machine in July 2021 since then we've had multiple issues and Michael's sent a service tech SEVEN times to our home to "watch" us to laundry and make sure that we know how to operate the machine. I was able to run into Michael's and buy a new one and set up delivery for the next day! They were able to get me into the showroom without an appt which I didn't realize was the new procedure but they accommodated and then made a way to fit me into the schedule for delivery! Dryer went out. Tech sent over and replaced igniter. It lit when he had machine disassembled but dryer would not work. He said the dryer vent was blocked. I Spent hundreds on people to come out and look at vent - it was perfectly clean. Service manager said they would send an experienced tech out the first thing in the am. I waited 3 hours and he never showed up. Center called and said he was busy on other calls, So, I was apparently lied to by service manager. Now tech is supposed to show in a few days. We'll see. I don't know what to do about money spent on having the clean vent looked at (it is on the roof of a 2 story bldg.) Small claims? I have a call into a lawyer now. Now without dryer for about a month. Have to fluff dry. I am 75 and disabled. This center seems not to be able to have qualified people. (BTW when they installed the unit they left the washers off of the hoses on the washer. We have been Michael's Appliance customers since 1985. What I like best is their parts department which not only has helped me repair my own machines by having the parts, they have helped me troubleshoot the equipment. Just ordered a door switch for the dishwasher we bought in 2015, Mr. Guattery was helpful as always. Every appliance in our house is from Michaels - and we have never had any problems with them - with the one MINOR inconvenience of a delivery being delayed ONCE - due to an issue at a prior delivery. read more

This review is coming after giving this company since February to fix my high end, 4 year old dishwasher on which I had an extended service contract. I have stayed home from work five times to have the same service technician show up, grumble about the issues with the dishwasher, tell me how he doesn't know what's wrong, order random parts, and nothing resolves the issue. This wouldn't be the worst of it. But, the problem is that they continue to make me wait 2-3 weeks between appointments, not return my calls, promise calls, promise appointments and never send a more qualified technician to come out and assess the situation. They are nasty to us on the phone, tell us we need to contact the "third party" insurer for resolution and we find out that if they can't fix the unit, which they clearly cannot, we can get a $40 reimbursement for the amortized amount of the value of our contract. This is a $1,000, four year old Fisher Paykel dishwasher! At this point, we have been waiting for one week for someone to make a new appointment with us for the unit to be repaired. We call daily, and are told that someone needs to speak with the technician who has been servicing the unit, and they'll call us back. This is every day. And every day they have a different reason for why they haven't been able to reach the man: he "hasn't checked in yet today" (it was 2:00 in the afternoon), he's at "technician school", he's "out sick", he's "traveling out of town to see family", this is all in a four day period of time. Do not buy from this company. Do not buy their service contracts. Look up reviews online before you waste a single dollar on a product from them. I have never heard of someone buying a Fisher Paykel dishwasher that couldn't be repaired after only 4 years! Buy from PC Richards. They have great prices and do not contract with third parties for their service contracts, and they refund you the price you paid for the appliance if it can't be fixed. read more

Wish I could leave 0 stars!!!! Was sold a sharp refrigerator which was delivered broken (wouldn't stay cold) lost a refrigerator full of food, So I asked for a replacement. They tell me I have to wait a month to have someone come look at the fridge to tell the manufacturer it's broken and then they would work on replacing my refrigerator. I have a 2 week old so I was given the service managers phone number to get a sooner appointment, left a voicemail 4-5 days ago with no call back. Customer service is worse then home depot of Lowe's. pride themselves on service therefore their prices are higher than their competitor's and will not price match. They should start price matching because their service is awful. If there was NO star rating they would receive it. After buying a 48 inch Jenn Air range at Michael's in July - we didn't receive our "free" microwave until after Christmas after being promised it from Michael's and the Jenn Air Regional Manager several times over without any calls after the delivery date had passed. Michael's nor Jenn Air never proactively communicated the status of anything. Every time I had to call to ask where the microwave was they then they acted like it was keeping them up at night. I purchased 2 major appliances from them 2 years ago. No problems and we did require service which was OK. Today we visited to purchase a new washer and dryer. I made an appointment with Frank Saltzberg Sales rep. He was not helpful at all. Refused to call the distributor and ask when they would be available. I was not asking for a definite date, just an approximate from his past experiences. He had a very condescending attitude and frankly my husband and I felt he was rude. As a result, we went to Warwick Appliance and had a wonderful experience. He told us he could call the distributor and find out when the items would be available. They also had what we were looking for in stock. So , if you live in the area, I recommend either another sales person or visit Warwick Appliance where the salesman was friendly and very helpful. Frank seemed very angry maybe he was just having a bad day but our experience with him ruined ours. I've been a customer for many years, so I expected polite customer service & attention when I visited yesterday to shop for a fridge & possibly a stove. Lance, a salesperson, was very rude. He was disinterested, negative, & disrespectful. So I drove straight to Lowe's & purchased both fridge & stove, paid less, & received excellent customer service. There are quite a few one star reviews that I found to be helpful and honest. After my own negative experience many years ago of being unknowingly charged for a warranty that I didn't know I had purchased, and that they didn't in my opinion act in good faith on, I think other potential customers should know I decided to be fair and give them one last try, as I am considering the purchase of a frost- free upright freezer. I tried calling five times during normal business hours and was unable to speak with a single person who could answer some very basic questions I had for them. I was transferred around to numerous voice mailboxes that were full. It was a complete waste of my time. The last voicemail was the same guy who wrongfully charged me for a warranty I never asked for. Yup... he still works there even though I reported him. I don't get a very professional vibe from their staff so I have decided to take my business somewhere else. By the way, I tried calling the 436-3030 number to speak the the person in charge, and he didn't pick up his phone either. I don't know how to respond, sir. 4 years ago I purchased a Frigidaire refrigerator from Michael's. On May 20 it stopped working. I called Michaels' since I purchased a service contract from them. They said I needed to call the insurance company. I called Assurant Insurance who said they sold the contract to AIG on May 1. I had to call them. I called them and they said they never received the contract. I had to call Assurant. They said the contract belonged to AIG. Over the course of a week this went back and forth. I called Michael's to assist me with this. They did not help me. It is now 11 days without a refrigerator. The moral of the story: Stay away from all three companies. read more

Michael's is a prime example of why small stores are being put out of business by the big box stores. And it can't happen soon enough to Michael's. Terrible products and customer service. Called to service my Asko 12 year old dishwasher and agreed to pay $120 to analyze the appliance and since it is of high quality & expensive I believed it could be fixed. Well the service man stood there looked at it and said can't get parts for it. BAM! 10 minutes is all it took. He was very nice about though. Could have been told on the phone when someone asked me how old it was. So I went to their store to find another dishwasher hoping some of the money I paid would be applied to purchase new one. Before I could finish my sentence about how much would be applied...he rudely interrupted $20! If you have an appliance over 10 years old....don't invest $120 for them to say....can't get parts. They don't return calls. When I finally did get a repair man, he had no parts. When he came back with a part, he didn't check to see that the machine actually worked. It didn't. I have been a customer of Michael's Appliance Center for many years. I have purchased all my kitchen appliances from them. My Bosch oven was nothing but trouble constantly breaking down. They came to my home numerous times through the years. I had to usually wait sometimes months for parts to be sent, I was told, from Germany. Parts that were sent were often the wrong ones, had to be returned, and the waiting began again. After YEARS of attempted repairs, I was told that they could not assist me any longer and would not continue to repair the appliance that I purchased from them. They claimed that sometimes an appliance was just a lemon. I , stupidly, purchased a Miele dishwasher from them last year and was told that they would be able to repair the dishwasher should the need arise. I certainly would not have purchased an appliance that was not able to be repaired from the company I purchased it from. Well, today my dishwasher stopped working. I called and, to my surprise, was told that they did not service Miele and I should contact that company directly. I recently shopped at another appliance that also sold Bosch. I was told that Bosch has a very good repair history and they never have had to wait months for repairs parts and that the parts do not come from Germany. Do yourself a favor, whatever reputation Michael's may have enjoyed once, it does not any longer. BEWARE! read more
