Love going into Home Depot during Christmas time. They have great decorations! I will say there was a shortness of staff today which was very frustrating for all. Aisles were packed with merchandise though so that's always a good thing. Aside from Christmas time, my family and I purchase all of our major appliances from here. I went to HD yesterday buying some stuff and waited on the self checklane in middle between the two exits. There are 4 people ahead of me so staff decides to open another register lane but no one takes it; its away from the other exit opposite where my car is parked. Then one of ladies wearing a black cap starts complaining that people were bugging out waiting in line rather than take open register. She went on and on very loudly to the extent that a coworker telling her to be quiet. Denying to be upset; let's face it she was upset. So after i rang up my stuff, i went to CS bc i forgot my receipt on an item. I complained to their HR mgr at the service that I got. It was so improper and unprofessional from the cap lady. Not everything is about time; it was about distance. Yes, you have freewill tobexpress your opinion but you don't yell it out loud and claiming to be not upset when your obviously are. We went to get a 5.2 deep freezer and the 3 men in appliance said they would take it down off the shelf and bring it u to the front registers. 20 minutes go by and the girl at the register called and no one bothered to get it down OR even tell us. Fine Home Depot. Parking is not as easy as some other locations because its in same area as a mall, although its separated from the main mall part. This place is always busy. And since I often have questions when I'm in a store like this I need those salespeople to be available to help me. Sold us a moldy used fridge but did not disclose that it has been preowned. It was on sale but they did not tell us why and tried persuading us that this fridge is a better option than another one. I think they were just trying to get rid of it. When we came to return it, they said the box and the fridge did not match to try to get us to make us keep the moldy, used fridge. They WILL NOT let us return it even though we bought it the SAME day! They're letting us exchange it but it's so hard to trust the store that just swindled us. It is atrocious how poor the customer support is. I've never had such a horrible experience at a store before. Do NOT go here! After waiting a really long time, they told us they don't know when the exchange will be ready and we have to wait until they can fetch it for us. I cannot warn you enough to NEVER, EVER, EVER purchase an appliance from Home Depot. I purchased a refrigerator from the Home Depot in Middletown on 10/20/2020 and am still waiting over two months to have it delivered although it is fully paid for. They have already canceled the first delivery and Home Depot sent me a confirmation email last night verifying my delivery for today between 9:30a and 1:30p. After spending roughly 45 minutes on the phone to find out the status of the delivery at 2:30p, the store informed me that the delivery was canceled again and I would not be receiving it. I drove to the store to speak with the manager about my displeasure and the status of the item and he absolved himself of complete responsibility and had absolutely nothing to offer other than I was at the mercy of the delivery company. Still wondering how they do not feel accountable to deliver the product you purchased at their store. Have since purchased a washer and dryer from Lowes, got a fantastic deal, delivered on schedule, first time, as promised. I highly recommend them for appliances. Stay away from Home Depot for appliances at all costs as they are unable to get you the item you paid for. Still hoping to receive my new fridge in the next several months. Peter C read more

I had to rush in here to get a pair of window blinds. The very first day I stepped in I was immediately helped by a tall brown skin brother slender short faded Caesar nice attitude on point willing to assist without me even asking. Now that's what you call customer service. I look for his name tag I didn't see it but it doesn't mean it wasn't there so I would have complimented him by name here in this post had I known nonetheless I'm assuming he was the only brother working in blinds and shades for the house area. I had to come back a second time to get the cut done for the blinds because my measurements given to me by someone else was wrong. At that time the blind was serviced by a female who also without any problem took care of the need. Had to come back after time because the blind was not measured properly by the same person who does not work at Home Depot who is associated to me who gave me once again the wrong measurements. So I ran into the same employee of Home Depot the tall slender brother and without any issues whatsoever he just wanted to know how he could be of assistance. I am formed him he cut the line to my specification and it is currently hanging up at my window right now. I appreciate employees who do their job perfectly. My husband, mother, and I went to the store today because we are in need of a new well tank and water softener for our "fixer upper" house. Steve in plumbing was fantastic and started out our process by asking what our contractor recommended and reasoning for the specific items we were looking for. He gave suggestions and explained things that we weren't sure of. Along with being a plumbing associate, he is also a plumber outside of his job at Home Depot. This was extremely helpful, as we are not experts in this field of home repair. We were also pleased with the customer assistance associate AJ who helped us with applying for the Home Depot card and the two transactions we needed to complete. She was pleasant, even when more time was needed for Steve to go back to the plumbing department to make sure we had all of the necessary well tank parts. If you are in need of plumbing help ask for Steve! Hopefully you'll be lucky if you need customer assistance and AJ will be available! read more

Was in today, it's getting warmer out so we decided to take advantage of grabbing some soil, mulch and trees. I'm not sure of the gentleman's name who was in the nursery but he was very helpful. We came when in was overcast out and it started to rain, he continued to help us with a smile as he got wet. We shopped the store for some supplies and returned to the nursery to check out and the cashier already had our stuff ready, wrung up. She was on top of it! We have been redoing our full bathroom and purchased all our supplies from this Home Depot. The employees are always very friendly, they offer help often without being overbearing, and a few have even begun to recognize us and greet us due to our many visits over the last couple of months. We utilized the van rental to take home some sheetrock and larger items that wouldn't fit in our cars, and that was also a very easiy, pleasant and smooth process. We did have one very frustrating experience specific to the website - we ordered a toilet to have shipped to the store, as they don't carry the color we needed in store. Nearly a month ago the first toilet we ordered arrived but was damaged upon bringing it up to us to take. Employees were apologetic and immediately reordered it for us. Unfortunately, the computer systems for the website and the actual stores are not linked - the toilet we ordered went out of stock and absolutely no communication was made to us or the store, we would never have known had we not shown up frustrated wondering where it was over a week later. At this point, our contractor had long since been ready to install said toilet so our whole project was behind. I canceled my order, and upon realizing the color/style I needed was not available via any other retailer for even remotely the same price, I ordered another through HD site to store. Although we were promised a pick up date no later than 4/26, the tracking information was super confusing and incorrect, and the toilet also ended up being late. We did however end up acquiring this one, almost a month after the first one was damaged. The assistant manager was extremely cooperative and apologetic and helped me out by taking nearly $50 off for my troubles and made sure I knew to find him if we had any other issues. The HD website and the lack of consistency between computer systems/inventory within the stores and online need a lot of work if this retailer wants a site to store program - our experience simply should not have happened. But I'm very pleased with the level of customer service in this store itself. The only thing keeping me from 5 stars is I feel the organization of some aisles could really be improved. The aisles look neat but if for instance you're in the plumbing aisle looking for a specific small piece, good luck - the boxes rarely contain exactly what they're labeled as. I'm sure it's not easy to keep these perfectly organized but I stood there for nearly 35 minutes one day going box by box looking for one smallish pipe connection and the box it should have been in was the last place I needed to be looking to find it. That's frustrating and something that could somewhat easily be fixed to make a smoother shopping experience. read more

Normally, Home Depot is good. My wife and I purchased a Maytag Washer in the Middletown store. We added a 5 year Home Depot protection plan for $135.00 for peace of mind. Two years have gone by and bam the washer will not power on. The Maytag washer is a Whirlpool product, by the way. I called for repair service on 8/7. Now I had a five year protection plan. He checked the washer,said it was broke and he didn't have part on his truck and said I will order the part. I asked how long, he replied about a week. A week? No contact from the Home Depot for a week. Home Depot teams with a l repair company; Dan Marc Appliance. After finding this out, I called Dan Marc and was aggressive on the phone. The repair scheduler finally found the service call and he transferred the call to the Parts Department of Dan Marc, a lady, sit right next to the first guy I spoke with and she said the part is out of stock, not time for when it will be in, she finally said that it was an expensive part, the Part # W11116592, and they will have to wait until it was available. So we called Home Depot Protection Plan and went through the details and they gave us a claim #1603716404 Case Manager is Anna. Apologies up the wazoo. Bottom line the switch is too expensive to replace( we paid $631 for the washer. The part price range was $450 to $290 for the part identified above. Home Depot, Dan Marc Appliances wants nothing to do with this claim. The claim 1603716404, Ref #417355 now resides in the hands of the Home Depot 5 year protection plan with the last contact was Case Manager named Anna. Anna told us that the resolution would be a a full refund of the purchase $631 and reimbursement of full value of product. Plus reimbursement for the cost of the laundromat since 8/7/20. Customers wait around for assistance and supervisors are never around. There needs to be an increase in customer service and staff that can help load merchandise purchased. Dealing with this Home Depot location has been the biggest disaster. I ordered three large items in March. I received one vanity, and one vanity top with no problem. The other vanity base arrived damaged so they had reordered it. About three weeks later I received an email that it arrived to the store damaged for a second time, when I went to the store to see what kind of damage it had they could not find the vanity. I called the store three times later that week to see if it had been located. It was ordered one more time and arrived damaged for a third time. At this point I spoke with someone about canceling the order and refunding the money. Well three weeks later I still never had my card refunded. When I went to the store once again to settle the issue no one had any idea what was going on. The computer said that I had taken the product home when I had not and once again employees were in the back looking for the ghost vanity. I was very patient with this store for so long because I understand covid has taken a toll on so many people and businesses, but the customer service here is just pathetic. When I asked to speak to a manager, the girl helping me did call for one but to no surprise no one ever came to the front. My card was finally refunded and I left without speaking to a manager because I felt I had already wasted enough time in this store. I purchased an item online for Christmas. I picked up the item at the store in Middletown NY. The center of the box was untapped and I thought nothing of it. I opened the box in the car to make sure the item was inside, and there was no packing slip. I went bac into Home Depot because it didnt come with a battery and a man that works there showed me which was the batteries as I know nothing about tools. I then took my items home and packed them away for Christmas. I gave it on Christmas day and t wasn't what the person I gave to to originally wanted so he wanted to exchange it and upon doing so Home Depot informs him that the item doe snot match the items I brought and paid for online and that what he was trying to return was a cheaper instore only purchase product and the item I brought was online only - but that is what was in the box and there was no packing slip. Home Depot refused to refund me the cost of the item I actually brought and purchased online because the item they actually gave me in the box was not the item and there are only two possible explanations and both occurred while the items were in the care of home depot staff. Either they made a mistake packing my item or someone slide the tape off the box and switched the item in the store. Either way, it is fraud and they are trying to rip me off $50.00 and they flagged my item not to be returned for the cost I paid for it. read more

I originally paid five (5) deposits on five gallon water bottles for my home water dispenser. After having a whole house water filter installed I no longer need my home water dispenser and tried to return my 5 gallon water bottles for the deposits I originally paid for them. The home depot in Wallkill, New York informed me that they do not return the deposits paid for the water bottles and that I now own them. This is truly outrageous. I have no need for the 5 gallon water bottles of which I paid an additional deposit when I originally purchased the water bottles. read more
