Gotta love the trailer planters and birdhouses

During my visit, Michaels staff was present and working on keeping the store organized and easy for customer to navigate. I really like the class schedule posted near the entrance as it draws the interest of both novice and expert creators of 'stuff.' Great selection of stuff and fantastic sales going on right now.

I LOVE this Michael's! They are clean, organized, and always have great clearance items! They're fake plant section is huge and makes me feel like I'm walking through a tropical jungle. They have a great framing section with a staff member always ready to assist you! The staff is very knowledgeable and happy to plan or discuss an ongoing project! This is truly my one stop shop for beads, paint, tie dye and T-shirts! Michael's almost always put out a weekly coupon! So make sure to check the news paper before you go shopping. If you forget to check the newspaper talk to a checkout clerk and ask them how you can sign up for a Michael's account. It does not come as a credit card, it stores all your receipts, and gives you access to the latest coupons! The staff at this store is particularly great at signing up regulars for this awesome program.

This place is all about the Christmas Craft for my students. I usually do not visit Michaels until around the holidays, but when I do, I know exactly what I need! I am always on the look out for those foam Christmas ornaments that the children can easily put together and decorate. I picked up a pack of the little owls and the Christmas reefs that they can make and hang on their trees. They were all 50% off so I was a happy camper. The items were a little hard to find for me, but a young lady helped me locate them. There were a lot of people here during my visit so the lines were long. I was a little disappointed that they did not have all the register opened so the main line moved quite slowly. On a good note, once I made it to the register, they lady who rung me up was quick and friendly. Thank you Michael's for being there when I need you.

Brand new Michaels in this great shopping center! It's very large and has a huge variety of everything! Great prices too! The store is well stocked and organized. HUGE variety of coloring books and adult coloring books. Great selection of Christmas trees, with a really inexpensive price. The place was packed the line looked like a 15 minute wait. Staff were friendly, overall great store will definitely be back.

Had some frames done for a few water color paintings that are now hanging in my office. They did a great job helping me with colors for each painting, about a week later they were ready for pickup. Very happy.

Be prepared for a treasure hunt. Staff are always within range and will assist you with a friendly smile. Amazing how they can remember the location of products and point you in the right direction. Most products are reasonable. The store is large and you can easily become overwhelmed if not familiar with the lay of the land. However, if you cannot locate a member of the staff for guidance, you maybe on your own. It would be helpful for a Store Directory to help you on your treasure hunt for your needed supplies. There is a large parking lot that can get congested. Watch for pedestrians that dart out into the crosswalk with too much confidence that all cars will stop and not look both ways before crossing. That is what contributes to the congestion. Checkout stations are well organized. Watch out for the racks of items designed for you to activate your impulse buying mode. Look ahead!!!

From the moment we walked in, he took the time to understand exactly what we were hoping to create and offered thoughtful suggestions that made the final piece even better than we imagined. He helped us design a beautiful piece, paying close attention to every detail--from matting and color choices to the overall presentation. His eye for design, patience, and genuine care for the project really stood out. You can tell he takes pride in his work and wants every customer to walk away happy. The finished piece is absolutely stunning, and we couldn't be more pleased. If you're looking for someone knowledgeable, creative, and truly dedicated to great results, ask for Rob. Highly recommend!

But it's very sentimental with everything that's happening with our friends in Hawaii. So I bid it out to a couple of local frame shops and it came back at $875... I said no. So I went to Michaels where I've had good luck in the past with a great framer named Rob. He totally got that. It was a personal emotional piece and did an unbelievable job for $150 thank you, Rob and everyone at Michaels.

The first time I saw "New Earth" and read the poem accompanying it, I felt an immediate energetic upliftment. A fleeting thought passed through my mind of "that would be nice to purchase it" but I didn't think I would actually end up doing just that! I have never purchased art before this piece - I appreciate art, yes- absolutely. I visit museums and enjoy art galleries, I love making my own art, but I am no art collector (or maybe I am now?!) I inched towards making this purchase very slowly and cautiously. I gave it little "tests" of time. I asked the price, then said no on a few separate occasions. I kept thinking, if its really and truly mine, it will wait for me. No need to rush. This painting was like a gentle tug on the sleeve of my soul... not aggressive or loud in any way, just a quiet message of "I'm still here, I'm waiting for you." I really love this painting so much. It resonates so deeply with my being. I don't know exactly how it was created, or where its going, but I feel very blessed to have come into alignment with this particular creation. It uplifts me, it heals me and it reminds me of my purpose. Thank you, David, for serving as a vessel! Your work is amazing! Keep up the good work!

Some theme examples are; self-expression, self-love, abundance and connection with something greater. As I paint I take pictures of these layers and provide these pictures to you, along with a copy of the poem, when purchased. I've enjoyed hearing many touching stories about how these paintings and poems have impacted the buyer. I'm inspired by the deeper levels and layers of the human being; the emotions, sensations and feelings going on beneath the surface. It looked very interesting so I decided to sit down and had some fun! One of the staffs, she already started teaching a younger girl (about 12-14 years old) and I sat right next to her . I felt being discriminated by the staff's attitude towards me. I wasn't sure if it was because the younger girl's age or because her parents were with her. For example, the staff would give her very detail instruction and even demonstrated how to do it. When it was my turn, she wasn't really put in effort to teach me. It was my first time learning how to do this too!! When I asked her questions, her reply was, "you can do whatever & be creative....."?? Huh? At least show me how to do it first , once I know it, I can be more creative later. When the younger girl and her parents were ready to leave, she told them about the company and give them a company brochure. I thought now she would have more time to focus on me. I was wrong... she started chatting with another staff about taking lunch break?? I was struggling how to make the fabrics look like "flower"!! I asked her, "I am having hard time making a flower shape???" She said to me, "You will get there eventually.....". Really??? If that is the way she is teaching the class, I will never recommend anyone to go there. When I stood up and ready to leave, she didn't talk about anything about the company or even gave me a brochure. I was very disappointed how different she treated me. I regret that I didn't ask for her name because I think it is important for the business owner, Elena Lai Etcheverty, to know about how her staff treat people differently. All her staffs represent the first impression of the company.

Visiting the art center in San Marcos as an individual or with a group. 3. Coordinating an event. I coordinated an event with them. They have a 6000 square foot warehouse very close to CSUSM on Industrial rd. It's easy to miss. Upon entering I was blown away by the plethora of art supplies. The people who work there will gladly give you a tour, explaining how everything was donated. I met Elena at CSUSM during while she was recruiting volunteers to make "letters of hope" for young women in the hospital with anorexia and for women in homeless shelters. I was intrigued, sat down and made a letter. I asked questions about the charity and I was blown away by the generosity of others. This meeting seemed like it was meant to be. I was planning a fundraiser event and needed a venue. Elena gave me her information and before I knew it I was planning a fun run and art project event with them. I mainly worked with Libbi, as Elena was busy. Libbi was so kind, helpful and was always on the same page as I. Having an event with Charity Wings was a WIN-WIN situation. I planned on charging for my event and had hoped for more in attendance. We didn't end up making any $ to contribute my specific charity, but we did donate to the Charity wings foundation with 25% of our proceeds. With that 25% we had access to the 6000 sq foot warehouse. We made a collaborative art project. We had a large picture and then small papers that each participant could decorate to add to the larger picture. They set out glitter, buttons, feathers, beads and markers to play with. Libbi and a few of the other staff took care of everything inside the warehouse and gave me free reign of the outdoor space, which is HUGE. We had a bounce house and two monitor speakers playing music. Someone participated in the fun run and suffered from heat illness, and they kindly took care of him until he felt better. Libbi is quite motherly. If I ever plan on having another event, I surely will do it here. Again, it's a Win-win situation. Stress free for sure. So for the other experiences, if you have a non-profit organization, you are able to go here and do art for free as a group, simply call ahead and plan your event. For other individuals: $10/hour regular adult, $8/hour student. They also have membership options $5/hour or $20 per day With admission you get access to all art supplies. This is definitely the place to go if you want to try out a new medium. The staff will guide and assist you as much to their knowledge will allow. They have pottery, metal working, paints, scrap booking, ect. They even have artists rental areas... I can't say anything negative about this place. I hope to work with Charity Wings again soon.
