Stores in the Michael's chain have rarely been on our family shopping list. If you're into scrapbooking, art projects, picture framing, celebration decoration, or some other hobby project, this may be the place for you. We were here today to buy a couple fake Poinsettias for the house, which provided some holiday cheer, without putting our cats in danger with the real thing. We also picked up some putty to hold some breakables down. Michael's had what we needed, as short as the list was. I really enjoy coming to this store. They always have such a great selection of items for any type of craft and are always having some fun decorations for sale. I will say the prices are high but when Michael's does sales they go all out. From 50%-60% upwards of 80%-90% on out of season items. The service is wonderful every time. Everyone is so friendly. I absolutely love this store, no matter what you can imagine in terms of a project they have whatever you need. The people there are very knowledgeable and very willing to help you with your project. I have been shopping there since the day they opened and helped out so many beautiful things. They also have a wonderful section for candy making a cake decorating, if you are a novice or an expert you can find what you need. By the way, if you're planning on doing your own wedding they have such a great supply of invitations, decorations cake toppers and all kinds of floral arrangements that they will do for you. I get it that things are different with Covid-19. I forgot my phone at home so politely knocked on their door and they were so rude in telling me that they were closed. How am I supposed to get there when they are open when they tell me my online order is ready for pickup at 6:01 when they close at 6:00?! Decided to forget about the order and be reimbursed because I can pick up my craft supplies somewhere else before they open again on Monday and after this interaction with one of their employees, I probably won't go into this location again! read more

So for the first time ever, I tried in order for delivery pick up I was super excited. Can't wait to do a craft project so when I went to this location to pick up my order, I did not see it in the slots so I walk up to an older woman with a short, grayish hair, medium height of the white ethnicity to ask her where my pick up is supposed to be placed since I didn't see it in the bins and she looked at me and was very short and asked me well did you receive an email stating that your order was ready to be picked up and I looked at my email and I miss read it. I thought it said order ready for pick up instead. It said it was received and I said to her oops it looks like you're right it's not been ready yet and since I was there, I did politely ask if there was a way I could pick it up now since I was already there and this was in the morning so they were very slow. They didn't have hardly any customers in the store that they were helping, so I thought why not since they weren't busy she exhaled a deep breath at me and asked her Manager to come up to the front so she didn't have to deal with me. Her manager had the same nasty attitude towards me very short very educating me on how my order isn't ready it's not ready. The items were still in the boxes from the shipment so it would take her 20 to 30 minutes to even get my order ready so she was going off on me about how I I was in the wrong just simply asking if I can get my pick up early and this woman was medium height also on the older side, black salt and pepper hair of the Asian ethnicity they were horrible people spoke to me very rudely half the time they were huffing and puffing and exhaling their deep breaths in front of me like they didn't even want to help me. They were very rude. I didn't need to be educated that my pick up wasn't ready yet. I understood I was just asking a simple question if it was possible to get it early, but instead, she chose to yell at me degrade B&B Little me making me feel stupid just by asking that simple question. I will never go to this location again I was treated very horribly. Just wanted to let the people know out there who go to this location? Don't expect to get help and get treated nicely at the same time, very mean and rude people that are the kind of people that should not be working and the customer service industry. read more

This is what you'll end up with: a plastic dinosaur, beads, a watercolor paint set, blank paper, pretty ribbon, a cheap blank notebook. I had a poor customer service experience over the phone when I called about an items availability before driving a half hour to the store. I arrived this AM after putting the item on hold yesterday and they were less than helpful. When I asked if it fit the criteria for a current sale they were running the employee said "I guess I can check... maybe it'll show when I scan it because I don't want to go to the section and look." Great. Thankfully the scanner answered my question eventhough the employee didn't. Next time I need something Reno doesn't have in stock, i'll wait until they get it again and save myself the drive and frustration. read more

I went into the CARSON CITY, NV location recently and what a shame and disapointment it was. The shelves were bare or completely empty. I walked all the aisles including the front end of the store and couldnt believe how bare and empty this location was. Scrapbooking/Paper/stamps/cutouts etc areas bare/empty, candle/soap making area bare/empty, Jewelry making aisle bare/empty. They still had halloween/Thankgiving/Christmas decor/crafts on the shelves that looks like they cant get rid of. Even at up to 80% off no one wants. I have noticed a steady decline of available products at this location. This feels to either be 1. this location will be closing and they dont want to tell the public or 2. the employees or automated system doesnt know how to order the product and keep the shelves stocked. Either way this is a sure way to lose business to bigger companies like Amazon. I loved being able to go to a local craft store for my crafting needs but now it seems to not be worth my time or gas with 3 out 4 times they don't have what I need due to shelves being empty. I even tried to order the products online and it was either unavailable or couldnt be found online or in store only but instore they're out of stock. I miss how Michaels used to be and truly hope they can turn this location around and better their online availablity. read more

I ordered a lemax collectible online because it was not available in store. I tried to post three different reviews on Micheals website. They would not publish the first on. Wrote a second one a few days later, received a "Trouble, try again later". Tried again later, they will not let you repost the same one, you have to create a new one. Tried again later, same result. Here is the review I was posting: ARRIVED BROKEN AND MISSING PIECES There was absolutely NO, REPEAT NO packing material in the shipping box so the item had all kinds of space to bounce around. Two pieces were completely missing so it was packed like that from Lemax or it was a return that no one bothered opening I ordered a small package of pumpkins to meet the free shipping threshold. They were TAPED to the outside of the item box. I thought this was supposed to be a collectible??!!! Would leave negative feedback if I could. read more

Store was a little crowded but clean for the most part. I spent 20 minutes in the scrapbook section searching for a scrapbook but couldn't find any on my own. Things should be labeled better. I finally go looking for help from an employee but couldn't find anyone on the floor. I had to go up front and wait in line to ask for help to which they suggested I go look in the scarpbooking section. Uhg! I just tried! No one offered to walk with me and show me themselves. Bad customer service. I finally found them and got a couple super small things like stickers and tape and spent almost $100. So out of this world rediculous. They have a great selection though with so much to choose from! read more

Wow. This is quite literally the worst Michael's I have every been to. And I've been to MANY. The staff is unbelievably lazy and rude. Had the unfortunate luck of having the same cashier, Crystal, 3 times in 2 days, and she could not have made us feel like more of an inconvenience. All 3 transactions were straightforward with no issues, but all 3 times she found some rude lazy thing to say. I know they have no competition in town, but this is just insane. read more

I went to this Michaels because there was a 40% off entire purchase of regular priced items between 4pm-9pm. When I went to check out there were only 3 items out of the twenty items I purchased that they gave me the discount on. I asked why and she was very rude and said certain items were never discounted. This is not true because I have purchased these items many times and they were discounted. I'm sorry to say this store is making the other stores look bad or is this Michaels policy now. read more

This store can be wallet emptier. They have great deals and sales going on almost always but the the little things you find that you insist you "need" is what gets me. They carry not just art supplies, but also home goods too. The employees are okay. They're not super friendly but they don't hate the day either. I love this store! Although they don't have a material section for sewing they have everything else I could ever need. Not only did I buy my Christmas tree here for last December, I got it like half off since it was very early on in the season when I purchased it. There's always a good deal here between clearance items, on sale items, as well as coupons and the deals you can have texted to your phone. A lot of the coupons are also good on sale items which blew me away. The staff is friendly but sometimes it's hard to find an associate on the sales floor. read more

I went into Michaels on 3/11/12 at 3:00pm to purchase an item. I could not find what I was looking for so I tried to find an employee. I searched that store twice and found not one employee. I went to the cash register as I did get one item not related to what I was looking for. There was only one cashier and about 5 people in line. Me and the woman behind me started talking about our experiences there at the store and about how there was only one cashier for now 6 people in line. The wait was well over 3 minutes per person. Finally, another employee came up to a register and the woman behind me asked her if there was another employee who could help with the cash registers. The employee in a VERY rude tone of voice said "NOPE". I was next in line so that employee helped me. I told her I searched all over the store for an employee to ask a question to and I couldn't find one person. She said "oh". I asked what her name was and she said "Jaime". This employee was rude, slow and not helpful at all. And I mean, not helpful AT ALL. This experience at Michael's and with Jaime has left a bad taste in my mouth and she truly needs to go work at a job that does not deal with the public. She didn't apologize for us waiting, she didn't ask me what my question was AND she could care less that other people had questions too. Jaime is rude, rude rude!!! read more

Rude employees, long lines. A couple people got out of line and left. I went in to return a couple of small items but was told since I only saved the coupon part of the receipt as I had mistakenly thrown it away, I could only be refunded about a quarter of what I paid the previous week. The girl telling me this had a big smile on her face the whole time. When I told her I didn't appreciate the big grin at the same time she was stealing from a customer, she had the audacity to yell Happy Holidays as I was walking out of the store. The manager was there the whole time. This has been normal for this store. I won't be going any there ever again. I would suggest Jo Ann Fabric and Craft Store in Carson City. read more

I've had Michael's frame a few things for me in recent months and the quality of their work is pretty good in all honesty. I do think that it's probably a little overpriced but with the quality that I've received I am OK with paying a little more. read more
