They have a wide selection of higher end yarns like marino wool and alpaca which I haven't seen at Hobby Lobby or Michaels. What sold me most is they are a great resource to tap into their knowledge of fibers and techniques. I would not go there to get a kit for your teen to start learning on, get cheaper yarn elsewhere. But for an afghan that will last a lifetime, get the good quality yarn found here. They also have group sessions on Thursday from 1-3 and Friday from 5-7 to meet with other knitters to work on your project and socialize. I recommend you try it.

The women at the shop could NOT have been ruder to me. "Oh, we don't have anything like this! It is so thick. So coarse!" I love that they have kits for kids (or even adults) to learn how to do certain crafts, like a beginner small quilt, crochet, learn to sew, pizza box crafts, and more. I had a very disappointing experience at this Michael's…read more When I asked to use a cashier instead of self-checkout, I was told it was "corporate policy" to make customers use self-checkout. I don't work at Michael's, and I don't believe customers should be required to ring up their own purchases if they prefer a cashier. The interaction with the employee became unprofessional. She told me she only makes $11 an hour and doesn't get paid enough to deal with customers. When I explained that wasn't my responsibility and that I simply wanted to check out with a cashier, she asked me, "Are you lazy, or do you just not know how to do it?" She also said she didn't care if I never came back to that location. To make matters worse, I heard her yelling at her child in the store, which created an uncomfortable atmosphere. This wasn't the first time I've witnessed that. Beyond the customer service, the store itself appeared dirty, poorly maintained, and understocked compared to other Michael's locations. I left feeling disrespected and unwelcome. I'll gladly drive across town to shop at another Michael's rather than return to this location. I hope management addresses both the customer service issues and the overall condition of the store.
