I went for my first time to Bliss Yarn because I needed some help on a project I was working on. Not only was I greeted with such kindness and hospitality but I received the help I needed and was welcomed back for their Thursday knitting club. Not only is the yarn beautiful , but the staff is knowledgeable and helpful. I wanted to crochet some special baby gifts. I was given patterns appropriate for my skill level. Yesterday I went to bliss yarns for the first and last time. I went in looking for a specific yarn that they didn't have, but I found a close second in the sale bin. I made my purchase and then the clerk asked if I would like the yarn wound. I said yes, and he went in the back to do so. Not long after a lady sitting at a table in the main shop, I am not sure if it was the owner or manager, yells back at him that they do not wind sale yarn. She totally embarrassed the clerk, who had obviously not been properly trained of this policy, and made myself and the other patrons in the shop very uncomfortable. There were so many other ways to have positively handled this situation. It was just so petty in the first place to not literally take a few minutes to wind sale yarn, it's called customer service. That's what keeps people coming back to your business and from leaving bad Yelp reviews. read more

This shop was visually amazing! There were many samples made up with labels describing pattern, where to access the pattern, yarn and yarn weight used on every sample. They carry beautiful yarns like Malabrigo and one of my all time favorites-Mrs Babs, among many others. The help we received was also excellent. I visited this yarn shop on a Thursday night since they have the extended hours. I was checking out at 7 pm and they asked if they could ball my yarn for me. Since it was time for them to close, I felt bad and declined. Biggest mistake! My yarn was an absolute mess and I went crazy for hours trying to untangle it. I took it back in and asked to purchase a new skein of yarn and have it balled. Instead, they took my yarn and untangled it for me. True customer service!! 10/10 recommend this yarn shop! read more

Those of us who suffer from yarn addictions know that it's hard for local yarn stores (LYS) to beat the deals that can be found trawling the internet, but nothing beats getting up close and personal with some animal fiber and stroking it with your grubby little paws before deciding to bring it home with you. While I'm not sure that Bliss Yarns has the most extensive selection of yarn in Nashville, I will say that it is probably my favorite LYS here in town, and that is due to the wonderful ladies who work here. Whenever I have come in, I have always been warmly greeted and the service has been fantastic. Everyone is super knowledgeable; I've gotten great suggestions for alternate yarns if I want to substitute out something called for in a pattern. Also, when I called in to find out if they had some extra skeins of yarn in stock, they pulled them from the shelf for me and put them aside so that I could be sure they'd be there waiting for me when I stopped by after work. Everything that is stocked appears to be top quality, but the prices themselves are actually really reasonable. In fact, some of the yarns I've found here have been far cheaper at Bliss than anywhere online! As an added bonus, Bliss Yarns offers an incentive punch-card program where you get a stamp for every $20 spent, and after $200 you get $20 off. Yeah, it's not the best deal on the planet, but it's better than nothing (and you'd be surprised at how quickly those $$$ can add up!)! Also, if you sign up for their mailing lists, you find out about any sales they have and that can help lighten the load on your pocketbook as well. Even though I have another LYS that is closer to my home, I readily travel the extra distance to visit Bliss. The atmosphere and service is truly worth the journey. This place is truly a Nashville knitter's paradise! read more

They have a fabulous selection of cascade 220 (really, you should see the wall of yarn!). And they have a great selection of knitting books (another large wall). The staff are very friendly, inclusive, knowledgeable and helpful. I've heard so many great things about this store, but every time I went in I felt like I was bothering the owner. The first time was awesome, i got to sit and talk with some people and work on my knitting. But after that? I always got stared at and dismissed. I waited almost an hour for help once and tried multiple times to get their attention and was straight up ignored. Forget asking for an opinion on yarn, they wouldn't answer me at all, but had a lengthy discussion with another customer right after? Nah. I'm pretty young, in my mid twenties, so I feel like that's probably why. I wouldn't recommend this store if you're looking for assistance l, but the yarn selection is pretty great if you're not looking for cotton. read more

I'm not used to yarn/knitting stores, but my daughter promised to knit my wife a hat if my wife would pick out the yarn. And Bliss Yarns had a huge selection to choose from. And the staff was exceptionally helpful in explaining all the different types of yarn. And I'll admit that I'm easily amused by mechanical contraptions, but they've got the coolest yarn spooling machine in the back. I have been knitting for 15 years,have lived and traveled to other places, and visited many yarn shops. I have had a few of my worst experiences here, but it's the closest shop to me now. The selection of yarn is varied, but it's a crap shoot as to whether the staff will be accommodating. I took a new knitter there on my last visit to buy yarn for her first project, and both of us felt like we were a real bother to the owner who never offered assistance. We ended up buying over $100.00 in yarn and paterns, but had ask and cajole for her to look up from her I pad for help. Maybe it was a bad day for her, but I will find another store. This is only the second knitting store I've been to in my life so I don't have a huge basis for comparison, but I had a positive experience here and if you can't find a yarn here that you like then there is something wrong with you. There's a lot of yarn. They also had buttons and a wall full of stuff I don't know how to use. I'm a beginning knitter so I scheduled a private lesson and got more than my $ worth. They had a heavy stream of customers the Saturday afternoon I was there and still made time for me. Nice place. read more
