If you want just want a simple alteration (e.g. pants shortened), you may want to go to one of the many local dry cleaners and pay under $20. Joe will charge you $50 to do the same thing. Put another way, going to Joe for a simple alteration, would be like going to a $1,500/hour lawyer to help with a parking ticket. He can certainly handle it, but you'll pay for more expertise than you might need. I learned that lesson the hard way.
