American is great! Jimmy, the owner, works hard and makes a special effort to learn everyone's name and take care of all the customers kindly and courteously. Cannot recommend this business enough. I dropped off dry cleaning several months ago and completely forgot about it. I no longer had the phone number they had on file so they weren't able to reach me. Suddenly realized I had never picked it up and half expected my clothes to be discarded or pay a hefty fee (rightfully so) for leaving them there for so long. Quite the opposite. They were on the rack as if I had dropped them off yesterday and the owner was just happy to have the business. This is just one of the many small businesses that might not immediately come to mind when thinking of those affected by COVID. I wish I had taken a before and after picture of the clothing I dry cleaned. I had some pretty wicked ring stains around the collar and cuffs, and now they're completely gone. Jimmy was super friendly and professional. I'm new in town and he took some time to meet with me and chat for a few minutes. I just don't get the great reviews. Let me start by saying I did attempt to rectify our issue with the owner, and sadly although he was super friendly and quick to try to fix the issue, the quality of the shirts were absolutely awful. When I picked up my husbands shirts I didn't notice but they were all very wrinkled. When I got them home and unwrapped them I knew there was no chance he could wear them to work. I called the cleaners and the owner profusely apologized and asked me to please bring g them back in and said it must have been an oversight. No problem! When I picked them up the girl working asked me to check if they were to "my standard" hmmm, my standard??? Anyway, I checked and they were SO WRINKLED! I pointed it out to her and she said "Oh, that's normal". So I left and won't be returning. It's too bad as the owner is so friendly and clearly cares about his customers. Side note: I originally gave 1 star, but I felt bad as the owner really was super friendly and did attempt to fix the issue. read more

Glad to have found a local tailor who can complete basic alterations very quickly and within a reasonable budget. My husband needed a pair of pants hemmed at last moment's notice. We dropped off the dress pants on Saturday and was able to pick them up the following Monday afternoon, in time for his business trip later that evening. Price was $10. Staff was very friendly and polite. I would not hesitate to come back in the future and will probably trust them with my cleaning needs as well. read more

I come here almost weekly! It's the BEST dry cleaner in the area. The owner is kind and personable; once he meets you, he will remember your name! Also- it has a little parking lot next to the storefront which makes picking up and dropping off items very easy! The prices are fantastic and the quality of the service is unbeatable. I've had stains taken out of clothes, my fiancé has had shirts made of special materials dry cleaned and I even brought an expensive cocktail dress here just for pressing because it came wrinkled when I bought it online. Seeing all of the customers that came into the store engage with him, with him acknowledging them each by name, showed me that he really cares about his customers. I called with a dress emergency this afternoon- needed my dress hemmed today for a wedding that I'm in tomorrow (AND it's Memorial Day weekend of all weekends). They were so nice! Told me no problem and to come right down. Other cleaners I had called said they couldn't help. Two hours later and my dress was perfect thanks to Gloria!
