The woman at the register shorted my change. It's exactly $0.50 so why would you hand me a quarter, two dimes, & a penny... the dishonesty & stealing is crazy. I ended up going back inside to the old woman being gone & a young woman there to help. The young lady tried to say it was a mistake when I said I was shorted but that cannot be unless the older woman who helped me previously is mathematically challenged & cannot do basic math. The young lady pulled out another whole quarter to give me from the same register with the same cash till. I said to young lady w/ glasses that it's not much about the little change but the dishonesty... tbh if the manager is doing this then they're probably stealing from other customers as well. It's not that hard to give two quarters as $0.50 in exact change... something seems fishy, she needs her managerial position really evaluated bc she definitely also seems fake nice & probably is the type to intimidate her employees. The woman seems wicked

I needed some items for a costume party including things to help make the costumes and favors. I'm not typically what you could call a super-crafty person but I came to this location and I was able to find some of the things I needed. I don't usually come to places like this to walk around and shop; I find it much more efficient to order what I need online but I needed too many small items to make that worth my while. I was distracted by all the cute, creative, sparkly items they have so if you are as easily distracted and impulsive as I am, you might want to bring someone with you to help keep you on track and to spare your pocketbook. The store is very clean and pretty-well organized. The employees were friendly and helpful. I also thought the prices were pretty reasonable. I ended up getting multiple different yards of material that are already cute and folded. It was very convenient. They also had a variety of embellishments I was able to buy and some snacks I don't typically see as well. That being said, it was difficult not to come home with a bunch of knick-knacks and other items I didn't really need. I really appreciated the inspo the store offered and if I thought I could control myself, I would come here more often.

This Micheal's is so clean and friendly. They have such a variety of things to pick from. Anything you need for crafts or projects for school you can find it here. I love their flower section as well as their arts section. And I like that they send out coupons to your email to help you save on purchases.

Was able to get my 40% off coupon along with my $5 off

I was so excited that I was able to take advantage of my 40% off coupon plus my $5 all in one transaction. The cashier was knowledgeable and knew exactly how to ring up the transaction. The onsite manager was able to find a box to secure the glass frame I purchased. I was completely satisfied with my experience at the Elk Grove Michaels on Laguna Blvd.

The Michaels in Laguna Creek is one of the busiest Michaels in the Sacramento area. I think this is one of the reasons some items are hard to find in this store. I have shopped at many Michaels in the area. When I shop in the other Michaels, I can take my time and enjoy checking out the items they are carrying. But when I'm shopping in this store. I want to walk in, get what I want, pay for the things that I need, and get out of the store as soon as I can. This store is a little too crowded for me most of the time! The parking lot is enormous. However, it is shared with Target and many stores in one of the busiest shopping centers in Elk Grove. Parking is a little harder to find, especially at the weekend or on a weekday evening! The good things are the area is safe, and the parking lot is clean.

    Missing 6 candles!
    Linda Y.

I had ordered 31 candles for pick up because they wouldn't let me enter the store due to quarantine. When I had arrived they wouldn't let me go out with them to check my order and they literally threw it into my trunk! They didn't even put it in bags or wrap it! When I got home I realized I am missing 6 candles and I am furious because they aren't picking up my phone calls! This will be the last time I shop here after I get my candles! I had paid over $200 for my candles!

The parking lot is pretty small, but we found a spot easily. When you walk in there's a lot to look at. Near the door there is a wall of board games as well as some plush items. We had so much fun looking at the dice at the counter, they have a great selection including some metal dice and I loved a pair the was pearlescent. The prices range widely but they're all really cool. They also carry items from local makers like jewelry, make up, potion bottles, fidgets, and other little cute items. I saw a bunch of 3D printed items too. The second glass case has cards on display for collectors. I didn't look at them too closely but I saw a lot of holographic which is always cool. On the other side of the store is an area with a bunch of tables where people were having fun playing games together. That area takes up a little under half of the store. It seemed like a fun spot to come with friends. The staff members were really friendly and helpful as well. It was fun learning about the store and their offerings and I'm sure we'll be back soon.

Walmart and Target are the next best thing and they are not even close! I was very excited once I found this place! We went on a weekend, lunch hour! The store was not very crowded. The top shelves wall was lined with displays of assembled pieces for sale. Some boxed items but not that much. Lots of bricks for sale (like the brick wall in Lego store). A lot of small parts like bicycle, boat, horses, etc... bagged. Easy to find and pick out. Many minifigures! It was my first time and eventually I figured out how the case was organized (by series, then like Harry Potter, Marvel/DC, etc). Would be easier if labelled but not that hard to figure out if you've been there before. We were looking for the Black Pearl and Captain Sparrow and no luck. I found Flounder and Sebastian, same price as eBay so we got them! YAY! The staff is nice. They asked if we want to join something but given we don't know how it works (and I was too hangry waiting for my lunch next door) we passed. Will definitely look into it next time.

I haven't come in to browse and shop for a year or so since Hobby Lobby isn't usually my cup of tea type of place, but I was surprised that they've expanded (or I did not notice before) their games, puzzles, and books selections. In particular, I like board and card games and there was a good selection of games and it was nice to hold in hand and read descriptions to buy tangibly instead of online. They even have some clothing items like they had some winter beanies and hats on clearance from Christmas time. Dabbling in drawing occasionally, it was nice to see a big variety of drawing and painting pads to choose from. What surprised me was that some (maybe all?) of them were Made in Italy, which hopefully means better quality. The rest of Hobby Lobby seems to be made in China, so those paper pads seem a good deal in comparison. Another area that was a pleasant surprise were toys on sale here, again maybe it's b/c I didn't notice before, but there's a bunch of different little kids toys and stuffed animals and these squishy animal things my kids tell me about that are all on sale here even though this is supposed to be like an arts and crafts store? Maybe stuffed toys are "hobbies"? Either way, I found it convenient that I can get some gifts for little kids in my life (friends' kids, or my kids' friends, or nieces and nephews) here instead of having to go into a toy store which I try to avoid, especially now that my kids are older. All in all, Hobby Lobby is better than I remember the last I visited. I also saw many different sizes and versions of bibles and other inspiration books for sale, and tons of decor for home and the office. My wife purchased something and I didn't but the cashier was friendly and quick. So service seems good. Turns out this place is pretty cool and for anyone, it's really a big comprehensive place and not just for those into arts and crafts, Hobby Lobby's changed my previous perception of their store and I think I'll stop by once in awhile for some games, toys, and maybe books.

This building in particular used to be the old Mervyn's store that sadly went out of business. I have been coming here over the last few years usually to look for ideas and accessories for costumes I already have in my closet, but on occasion, I find a new costume that I must have to add to my collection! This place is always busy with customers, and for good reason - they carry a multitude of merchandise! The store is pretty well laid out by themes and types of costumes via departmentalizing with traditional, scary, cute, weird, sexy, movie or TV based shows for both children and adults complete with masks, make up, wigs, jewelry, and matching accessories. The costumes are usually comfortable despite the utilization of somewhat cheap materials. But since they are just costumes and the prices are competitive, I can't complain too much! There is also a nice and extensive selection of party decorations all the way up to elaborately scary, electronically run, movable props for the serious Halloween devotee. My recent visit here was for some last minute updates to my Cleopatra costume. Even though it was Halloween day, and the store was pretty well cleared out of a lot of merchandise, I was excited to find a new dress in my size of small! Unlike Evangeline's where I went there two weeks earlier to find nothing that I liked in my size or even for Joe K. The employees were friendly during the "zoo" type atmosphere of last minute shoppers. I want to give a shout out to the nice young lady who checked out my purchase. She was very nice to me and apologized profusely as she had trouble with her register ringing me up. It took some time for a manager to notice she needed help. During the wait she continued to greet entering customers and give helpful directions. When the manager finally remedied the situation, she apologized again, making sure that I was not impatient or annoyed and wanted me to have a good time at my upcoming Halloween party! So unlike Lyla S' bad review, I have no complaints. It's a busy, high energy costume store. Don't expect a relaxing shopping experience unless you go really early in the season.
