Today (5-7-2023) I was completely humiliated by the staff at this Michael's store. I'm a teacher and I spent about an hour shopping for shirts that my students are going to paint on. It took me a while to decide the color and the paint that I needed. When I started heading to the front of the store to pay I realized that I was being followed by security. At first I didn't think anything of it, in fact I asked him if he knew where the stencils were. But he proceeded to follow me to the front of the store. That is when I realized what was happening. So that is when I decided not to use the self-checkout but to go to the cashier instead. By then security was standing right next to my register. I asked him if there was a problem. He said that there wasn't one and he left the store. I asked the cashier to explain to me why I was being followed and harassed in their store. By then I had tears in my eyes because I understood the situation. What I don't understand is if they had any suspicion of me trying to steal something why they didn't ask me if I needed help or make conversation with me. I consider myself the most loving and understanding person. I asked the store manager to explain to me why I was treated this way. All she did was apologize (I was In tears all this time). I TRULY wouldn't want this to happen to anyone else. Please train your store staff how to treat ALL customers. Do not assume that if someone is of a certain racial background that we are there to steal. I'm heartbroken. read more

Oh, I hate this store! Of all the Michaels' I've been to in California, this one is the worst. They never, ever have more than one or two registers open, and the line has reached halfway to the back wall of the store before. No wait, that's almost every time I've been there. I always go right after work, around 5:30 or so, and you'd think they'd compensate for the after-work rush, especially in River Park. The only reason I ever go to this one is that the Clovis one is way out of my way. The store is always very messy, and you can never find someone to help you. They are usually out of whatever it is I need, too, especially around the holidays. Take note, apparently you need to start shopping for Christmas stuff in August to make sure they still have it. They also have significantly raised their prices over the last year or so. I'll head up the street to Jo-Ann instead from now on. read more

The very first thing I notice about this place upon walking in....THE SMELL! Oh no...it's nothing horrid, it's actually quite pleasant. Today's scent happened to be Peppermint or some other kind of spicy mint. It was nice, but after a while, it can give you a headache. If you are allergic to scented candles or other heavily scented items, you may want to avoid this place, or wear a mask of some sort. The place was a mess! Holiday stuff was thrown everywhere. Customers shouldn't be THIS messy...but then again, I have to wonder how long it's been since they picked up with how badly things were thrown around. The place was well-stocked and the holiday music added to the atmosphere of Winter. The rows of Poinsettias were a joy to see (even though I am allergic to their petals). This place has a LOT of things for customers to make their own crafts for any event! If you have a creative mind and a bit of skill, you may very well save lots of money making your own decorations than going out and buying them at any store. Could be better, could be cleaner, but I wasn't disappointed with the place overall. read more

Their on line in store pick up is horrid. 1st time items missing but invoices said everything was there. Had to come back for the rest of my order which was already paid for. Tried it one more time. 1st she couldn't find it then found it and demanded I sign for it before checking it. I checked it 2 items were broken. Whom ever packed it broke them and if they didn't know they were broken when they packed it. HORRID read more

I like the store just because they have fun and awesome stuff to work with. I really don't go to this store i. Blackstone because the staff are RUDE, at least in my experience. Today I ask for help to look for tape and the lady didn't let m explain what kind of tape and answered really fast and rude. Then I over heard her say "i guess I have to walk you find the stuff that are easy to find" .... Then I spilled by accident coffee on the floor and I apologized and she literally ignore me... ok! Worse Micheals in town! Bad customer service. I always order online pickup from Michaels but never this bad. Order online pickup has been over 24 hours since I placed my order and got zero confirmation for my order. However was charge for the items and my Michaels account said items are ready for pick up. Called store just to confirm if my items are ready for pickup. This bitchy person on the phone kept telling me to just wait until I get my pickup confirmation because my stuffs are not ready. It won't even allowed me to cancel my order either. Decided to head out to the store because I needed the stuffs and wanted to see if my stuffs actually ready for pick up like it stated in my account. Got to the store, pressed their online pickup button like they said to do. This bitchy lady walked up and said "oh it self serve" and gave me my stuffs. As I walked out, the door started beeping so now the cashier lady asked to check and rescan all my items! Waste of my time! Never will I shop at this Michael again. read more

I live in Fresno CA. I visited the store located on Blackstone in River Park; Fresno CA. I am so disappointed in this store because it does not carry the products I used to buy there anymore. The store was remodeled and to be honest, it is not a store I will continue to shop at. The merchandise is limited and I found nothing that I was looking for. I went to Hobby Lobby and found everything I needed. If this continues to carry only a limited amount of merchandise, its going to find itself out of business. read more

Line gets really long every time during lunch and after work. There is hardly anyone around for help along the aisles because they're busy trying to catch up with the line of people. Once it is my turn to pay they do seem nice and have a smile. It is usually messy along the aisle displays. Prices can seem over pricey for some items but I always use their coupons. If they don't have one this week, they will next week for at least 40% off. Check online, sign up for their e-mails or the app. No need to print using the phone app. Store is just OK, I've seen better Michaels. read more

Whether it's summer or the holidays, this store can't seem to get it together. Their managers don't know how to scan coupons (and if they mess up, you have to return the order and they expect you to come back and try again the next day!!!), their staff doesn't know what they have in their inventory and you have to beg them to check, and above all -- SO rude! It doesn't matter what you ask them, they won't help you. They will, instead, try to make you feel stupid for asking. Management goes above and beyond in trying to belittle customers. I have walked out of there empty handed at least half a dozen times on account of poor service or a line that wraps into the aisles alone. Now that Hobbylobby is open, along with Joanns right around the corner and Allards with their art supplies, there is absolutely no reason to step foot into this joke store. I liked the one in Clovis, though I think my money belongs in a nicer chain altogether :) There are plenty of options, Fresno! read more

I'm not a frequent shopper at arts and crafts stores so, I don't know how well they are stocked or what their prices are compared to their competition. I will say the staff at this location was extremely helpful. Came in with an idea from my daughter to make a birthday gift for my wife/mother of my children and they helped me big time. I have been a customer of a frame department for a year. The customer service is friendly, but watch out for the charges. It all depends on a clerk's experience. I brought a ready made frame and a needlepoint art to be stretched and inserted into the frame. The clerk was obviously very new to this department and it took twice longer to take my order. It is good that I reviewed the charges, I saved myself $26. I am disappointed that due to the same clerk's error ( her name is Elise), now I have to wait for 2 weeks to get it done while a few months ago exactly the same project was completed in less than 2 days! She entered a standard due date as if I need a custom frame. So be careful and always review the charges. read more

Not the friendliest staff .... very messy and some employee said they don't accept coupons from your phone ..... I've been going to Michaels for a while now and they always accept coupons from my phone and competitor coupons..... well it's their loss with Joanns and hobby lobby conveniently down the street gladly accepting all kinds of coupons I'll go their instead from now on. I work with fine art supplies on the regular so this place has everything I really need. A big selection of acrylic paint and wood. Always a ton of ideas are on Pinterest for those who are not crafters. Anyone and everyone of any age or craft skill level are welcome there. They have home decor too if you like cute "handmade" looking things that are ready made. read more

I prefer JoAnn Fabrics over Michaels. Michaels is too expensive. I typically don't shop here unless I have a coupon. The lines are slow, too. However, I love the floral arrangements here. There are a ton of artificial flowers from which to choose. Next to the registers is a discounted section with neat stationary, stamps, pens, etc. Check that out. Love the scented candles, too. read more

The store is dirty. The bathrooms are gross. There was blood on the floor and no supplies and smelled like tortillas. The lines are always long and the cashiers are super slow. It's hard to find help in the store. Only come here if I need to. read more

Michaels is the only place you can get a lot of the stuff that they sell or that you need for certain crafts. I love going here and usually end up buying way more than I came for. They always have stuff on sale, which is great! I love that they always send out coupons to use, but you can't use them on stuff on sale, so I don't get to use them a lot. I feel like they try to keep it clean, but there's always stuff all over the floors, or maybe that's just when they're having good sales? Not sure. The line here always gets SO long, but moves pretty quickly. read more

Poor service today. I went to a register and was rudely told that there was a single queue. There were no lanes or signage to indicate such. I am coming back and giving Michaels a 1-Star rating, only because a few days later I opened my bag and my purchase of two water color paint tubes was not in there!!! I swear I waited in line so friggin long and I also waited for the lady to whip out her key and unlock the glass door to get me those precious water colors I needed to complete my landscape painting and do a few touch ups. Blonde lady at the cashier in early 50s did not honor my 50% off coupon. Instead she acted like she did scan it and I paid, not until I was in the parking lot that I realized I paid full price on my receipt. I went back and a nice young Hispanic lady then was able to help me with the manager's help. Would not go again. Not worth my time or money. read more

It is what it is ! I rarely have a need for a craft store. The staff was very friendly and I appreciate that.

First of all I love Michaels in general, I have always gotten all of my art supplies from Michaels. Now, about this particular Michaels...here we go. The employees know very little about their inventory, on many occasions I have asked about a certain item and was told they did not have anything like it only to find it one or two isles over. It is difficult to find someone who knows what they are talking about but it is harder to find someone who is even willing to give you the time of day. Most of their employees clearly do not care about their job and do not mind hiding it. The lines are always ridiculously long because they only have a few registers open which is incredibly annoying. Their customer service in general is baaaad. I called the other day at 7:03 to see what time they closed and someone answered "Hello, thank you for calling Michael's we are closed". That has got to be the most rude way to answer the telephone I have ever heard! I just hung up because I had nothing else to say. Unfortunately, this is the Michaels that is closest to my house but for now, I will be going to JoAnns. read more

Ordered some shadow boxes. Spoke with Michelle. Real knowledgable and walked me through everything. I had no idea on how to order these and she answered all my questions Her staff was friendly as well. They made it easy to change my order as they relayed the information to each other. I love this store. Normally, I don't ask for help. However, on the day that I did it was a horrible experience. I should have gotten the employee's name and reported her. She was walking with another lady and I asked if she can help me. She said yes after she helped the lady first. I followed them and after she helped the lady instead of helping me, she walked away really fast so I couldn't catch her. I was in shock. Next time, if I see her I'm taking her name down. read more

She is the most passive aggressive and condescending person I have ever met. Chris in framing literally just walked off in the middle of pretending to assist me. I have been to this Micheals many times and I have never encountered an employee who was truly willing to help. Just last week I was wondering about their Wilton products and a sales associate was rude and standoffish on the phone, and decided to go in. I also received no help and of course I took my business a street light away to their competitor! Their loss on over $300 in products purchased! It should be about the customer service, that's what keeps us coming back but this Micheals is completely disregarding that aspect of what makes a business pleasureful for customers. read more

I have been shopping at Michaels for many years. Just like any other store, especially if they've had a coupon or big sale, the inventory may be low from time to time. But I know they have shipments come in every week. I have never had a bad experience with staff or other customers. However, since Michaels does caarry a large line of art/craft supplies, the aisles can get a little tricky to navigate. But since we are here to leave feedback for the store, it's not really fair to talk about other customers and what they do or do not do. That is not something the store staff can control. And to be fair, I have visited Joannes many times, as well, and had to wait long periods in line and met some negative attitudes there, too. But, you have to understand that people are only human! Bet if you had to stand on your feet all day and deal with some crabby people, you might cop a "tude" yourself. These days, with the economy what it is, a lot more people are crafting their own home decor, gifts and other items from scratch, hence the long lines. Heck, I've had to wait in long lines at the grocery store, Macy's, the bank, the post office and many other places, ....so? Staff not knowlegable on every item in the store.....really?.......new hires?......long term associates?......Would you be able to know everything about every product or craft...I think not. I believe that when you are having a bad day, it shows. Others notice and if they are also having a bad day......round and round. Soon everyone is crabby. So, lighten up. Be friendly. Give a smile....get a smile!! Give Michaels another try, I know they have a new and better manager, now and the staff doesn't seem to be so unhappy. I think you might see a change. read more
