Color Me Mine does not disappoint. I have been here like five times or more now. Today was special as it was the first time my youngest child came to paint an item. My family got here when we they opened. Conner explained how to clean the item and how many coats of paint to put on the item so it stands out. He was attentive and very kind. Was willing to refill all our paint in our trays multiple times and never had a disgruntled attitude. He was the best helper we have ever had. He was fantastic at helping other adults and children around us as well. Was a experience to remember. I came here last Saturday afternoon when they opened. Color Me Mine has definitely changed since the pandemic and under the new ownership at this location it has been a disappointment. It used to feel much more colorful, with ceramic pieces displayed throughout the entire store to choose from. Now, most of the ceramics are limited to one wall, and the overall atmosphere feels more modern rather than having the warm, family-oriented environment I remember from when I worked there years ago for many years. And no more fun discount days. The process has changed as well. Staff now ask what paint colors you would like and bring them to your table instead of the previous self-serve setup. Once you enter, they ask how many people are in your group, tell you what table to sit at, and give you a plate of colors along with instructions on the number of coats. They don't often check up if you need clean water either. Things that stayed the same is after you paint you leave the pieces on the table and they clean everything for you. Once you pay they give you your receipt and they write down when your piece will be ready. And they can only hold it in store for two weeks once's ready. Something new that's nice is they text you now. Because some don't have the best handwriting. I could not ready the date on my receipt card when it will be ready. Ceramic pieces range from $20 and up, plus there is a $10 studio fee. Definitely pricy the cheapest one I saw was $24. No outside food is allowed, and there is a 50% charge for broken pieces. Guests are also asked to wash their hands before handling the ceramics, and prices are labeled underneath each piece. They also no longer have paint pens or options to have employees charge extra to get writing done one the pieces. I wish the staff wore name tags or at least introduced themselves. My friends and I often felt like we had to raise our hands to get assistance since paint is no longer self-serve. They wait too long for three people working there and was not even busy. I asked one employee for his name and we thought we heard Jay, although the receipt said Jad. He was probably the most helpful staff member we interacted with. Another employee seemed half asleep, hard to get his attention for help and didn't appear to enjoy his job, and he forgot a few items I had requested. One of my friends was visiting from out of town and had never been to Color Me Mine before. I think, having worked here for many years before the pandemic, I had certain expectations based on the level of customer service we used to provide during that time. Unfortunately, I won't be returning, and I don't plan on bringing my son either. The new policy requiring every person to pay the studio fee--even if they're just there to watch and not paint--is disappointing. They have plenty of tables and seats on one table, and even if I were painting by myself, I wouldn't want to be expected to share a table with strangers. That policy alone is enough to keep us from coming back. I recommend trying a different place in Fresno. read more

I took one start away because I feel like as a paint store they should offer aprons so your clothes won't get paint on them and should offer some sort of paper or pencil to sketch. It started with being told my son couldn't have his smoothie while painting. I grew up going to Color Me Mine, and part of the charm was how relaxed and welcoming it felt -- we always had drinks with us, and it felt like a place meant for families to truly enjoy themselves. While we respected the rules, it felt a bit excessive to act as though a smoothie was going to ruin the experience. What made it more disappointing was learning that my mother, who wasn't even painting and never touched a brush, still had to pay a sitting fee simply to be there with us. Had I known all of this beforehand, I honestly would have chosen a different activity for my son's birthday. The experience just doesn't feel warm or special anymore. Instead of feeling creative and inviting, it feels overly restrictive -- almost like you're a child needing permission for every little thing. The atmosphere lacked the fun, thoughtful touches Color Me Mine used to have, yet the prices remain premium. Unfortunately, the customer service didn't help improve the experience either. The employee rushed through the rules as quickly as possible and then returned to sitting down, offering very little engagement or hospitality. Overall, it was disappointing. I genuinely miss the old Color Me Mine -- when it felt memorable, creative, and welcoming. Now it feels cold, transactional, and almost like customers are an inconvenience. The beautiful painted ceramic displays in the window always captured my eye as I walked by, always causing me to want to go inside. Our anniversary came up, and we decided on Color Me Mine so that we could have ceramic pieces to commemorate the day. Every time we've walked past Color Me Mine in the past, we noticed they were very busy, so we checked on Yelp, and they offered reservations through Yelp! When we walked inside, we were greeted and sat after we checked in. They charge a studio fee and whatever the cost of your ceramic piece is. Brushes, paint, palettes, and cleaning stations are provided. They instructed us on how painting the ceramics work and the shades or colors before and after glazing. After picking our ceramics, we picked the colors we wanted on our palettes, and we straight to painting. Painting our ceramics was so fun, and the Color Me Mine workers were super helpful and friendly. As we were painting, though, we needed thinner brushes for finer details, and their brushes all happened to be frayed or too thick, so any detailed work was extremely hard to do. As we were painting, we overheard one of the workers helping another table, and they were telling them advice that would have been really helpful for us to have been told when they gave their rules and tips to us. They said not to paint too many layers over one area, or it can lead to cracking of the paint when fired in the kiln. Painting our ceramics took significantly longer than we thought, which explains the long lines and wait time. You're painting a work of art, and you can't rush art! Once you're finished painting, you leave your ceramic at the table, and they'll collect them and fire them in the kiln and text you within a week when it's available for pickup. After the ceramic is all fired up, it looks even more beautiful than when you were painting it. You'll forever have that piece of art to look back on or to gift! Depending on the ceramic piece, pricing can be affordable or really expensive. Regardless of price, it's SO worth it! read more

One of my family's favorite places to spend time together. This review is long over due. The staff were very friendly and helpful as always. There are two fees, one for studio and one for your item (prices vary). They have a lot of colors of paint to select from, lots of paint brushes and seating can become limited if it's a busy day. Otherwise, we have always found a seat for the 3 or 4 of us. After done painting, we left our pieces with the shop for them to fire it up. Color Me Mine is such a great spot for dates, hangouts, or even going solo. That being said, it is a very pricey experience. Tip: Make sure you do multiple coats of glaze on your piece or it'll come out too light or even streaky! :) Cost: $10 fee PER person for using the studio. This includes unlimited glaze (you just have to ask). If you ask the staff they also have tracing paper and a tracing pen if you want to get more detail into your design! I think time is unlimited but I'm not completely sure. I've stayed here for almost 4 hours before. + Your ceramic item: I think everything was $25 and up. There was a large variety and they switch things out so there's new pieces each time. There's also a 21+ shelf with bongs lol I really enjoy coming here, even though it's just a once in a while thing. read more

Friday, 5/12/2023 - Went to Color Me Mine to try it out. Address is 230 E Paseo Del Centro, Fresno, CA 93720. It was pretty fun! You pick your items pick your colors, paint your item, pay for it. In a few days, they'll call you to go pick up your itemsm(s) after it's done. This business is located in a very busy shopping area. It's full of stores and restaurants. The movie theatre is here too. Upon arrival: Pros: 1) they have aparking structure with lots of parking. It's close to the highway. 2) staff was nice. We went to pick what we wanted to pain. Picked a few nice, large, mugs. 3) then we went to pick our colors. They give you a little white thing with little round gives in them so the can write the paint color in it. You pick your paint # and they'll squeeze the paint on your little paint board thingy. 4) your paint brushes are on the table. They bring you some water and round, black sponges to use. 5) once we finished decorating our mugs, they came, cleaned up our table, took our mugs and took us to the cash register. 6) after we paid, they have us our receipt and a number and told us they'll call us in one or two days to pick up our mugs. Cons: 1) no cons Conclusion: This is a cute little business. I can't wait to get our baked, shiny mugs back in a few days. Tables and chairs were clean. Staffs were nice. This place has absolutely lost its magic! It is sad and beige, directly opposing the fun and quirky vibe of the previous owners. You can no longer get your own paint, you must request it and have the workers bring it out to you in extremely small batches. We sat for around 15 minutes with no paint and no one coming to check on us. Wait times are extremely long and they do not accept reservations. When you finally make it into your seats you constantly hear remarks from the workers saying how long everyone is taking!! Definitely not worth your time or money. read more

Had a girls day out. We decided to go to color me mine. We got there when it first opened at 11 AM, I had no idea Calling Me mine was a place to hang out at 11 AM on a Saturday morning. When I arrived there already people there waiting. The line started to form 10:55, I was able to be the third person in line. By 11:20 the place was packed. It was super clean and they had a large variety of items to choose from to paint. I am not artistic whatsoever so I spent a lot of time laughing at what I was painting. Employees were super nice and courteous and very helpful. We were there for about two hours and had such a great time laughing and enjoying ourselves painting. read more

This place was in my to go list since my daughter was very little. But I said better now than never. So after 10 years we came for the first time. Since it was our first time the young lady was telling us how everything work. She told us the price of the studio was $ 8 plus the price of the item we may select. After that she said to go to the corner table. Once we were with our items ready to start. We asked how to pick the colors and we were suggested to use soft colors for the base and they darker colors for the designs. We were so lost on everything. We were not prepared for any design or any colors. So I suggest you look into to that before you decide to come. I picked a planter and picked rose for the base and blue for designs. Some purple for flowers and green for stems. I made something simple. To be my first time I think it came out great. So the first thing we did was to clean the piece from any dust or dirtiness. They we started with the base color. Then the next start painting the design. We finished and we left our items in the table. We ent to the counter to pay and to receive our receipt and the date to spect our item to be ready. They put some clear liquid and put them in some higher temperature oven. I can't wait for that. Highly recommend for any age. Really enjoyed it. read more

Not a great experience. I went in with my daughter to make something for dads for valentines day. The girls were zero help. I'm alone with a baby and you'd think they would offer to help us do the handprint or paint the plate. Nope then they asked for a tip. Watched me struggle to get out the door and didn't even help hold the door. Just really bad customer service. Also, to write your name or write anything on pottery its the worst paintbrush. So disappointed. Myself and several colleagues came here on a week day right when they opened. Mind you, I called the week before and was told it should be fine to walk in during the week when they open, as we weren't able to book the back room. When we arrived the worker there immediately looked panicked. Grabbed the phone and ran off to call her boss. She then stated that her boss told her they could only have us come inside as groups of 4 every 15 minutes. There were 14 of us and I asked if we could all just come in and we are okay with being helped 4 at time. I told her we'll wait patiently and understand it's only her working. She said no, she could only help us 4 at a time while others waited outside not inside. There were no other customers and plenty of room for us all to sit. It's winter and cold outside... we decided to just find another activity to do as the worker was not helpful and was literally expecting the last 4 ppl to wait outside in the cold for at least 45 mins! Needless to say we went else where. We happened to walk past color me mine about 90 mins later and yes... it was still empty while the worker was sitting at the register on her phone. read more

I saw pictures online I really liked the flower pots and wanted to paint one, but when I went in to to paint it was super busy with one person working the front and the back area was closed with people in the back it seemed a little off and they kept asking one person to come ask us what we wanted to paint , I thought I saw other people maybe works but looked like friends of the workers they were just sitting around waiting for something I don't know, one of the girls in the back kept mean mugging me felt off in this place, definitely want to paint somthing for my sister for her bday but not coming to this place for it. read more

Very cool place. My friend and I went today. They even had a water bowl for my doggo. Super cool that the paint is unlimited and we were able to take our time. We were there for several hour. Employees were super attentive to our needs. Price wise can add up with the pieces starting at $15+ and the extra fee for using their supplies. Not sure if that's an optional fee or not. For an adult it was $8 at least as of right now as I write this review but I don't think it's ridiculously unreasonable. I thought it was worth it to have a unique experience I truly enjoyed. My husband and I came here for the first time and had a great experience. I painted a pitcher and he made a dog bowl. You can easily spend 1-2 hours here depending on what item you get and how you design it. The only downfall is that you have to wait 7+ days to take your item home. The staff were friendly and the place was clean however, there was NOT a big boy selection at all. What 6 year old boy wants to paint a flower vase, planter, plate , rainbow, bong or pipes?!? Yes I said bongs and pipes they were fully stocked with bongs and pipes which I was pretty shocked they had those things in there. I asked the gentleman if they had more boy things in the back and he kindly said no. The only boy thing they had was a huge frog that was over $45 bucks. We settled on the last camper pottery they had as we drove far for this place to not come and paint. Please do better Color Me Mine...there needs to be a bigger boy selection. read more

I was really looking forward to doing this activity, however, because of the estimated wait time being 2 1/2 hours, me and my friend went back to our place across town. The issue is Not the wait time, my issue is that the only waitlist notifications sent out were when our ten minute hold for our table already started. I feel like it would be mutually beneficial for all parties if the waitlist reminders notified you when you've been moved up the list. We had to cancel due to the lack of communication on when we would need to arrive. Due to how busy Fresno can get, I feel as though it's an unrealistic expectation when they only give a ten minute window. read more

Haven't been here in a couple years and I'm not fond of the changes. You can't pick out your own paint anymore. As an adult I have little patience for raising my hand like a school kid to get someone to the table and ask for a paint color. If I could get my own paint, I wouldn't have wasted as much paint as well. The old management had a Kuerig and you could make a coffee. Now, I couldn't even bring a soda to the table, only a bottle of water. Soda and food must be left at the door. I get the food thing, but I don't understand water vs a soda. All the pieces are expensive. I saw nothing under $20. We went on a Sunday as soon as they opened and we're glad we did as every table was soon taken. The staff was very nice and helpful. I'm sure they aren't at fault for the changes. All in all, I will probably go again because I do like the experience. read more

Went in yesterday around noon and had the worst experience ever. Granted the guy seemed like he was training a new employee but he was too busy telling her about his dog. We sat for about 5 mins until I finally interrupted and asked if I go up and get the paint myself. He said no, he will explain to me in a bit. Continued his story about his dog to the girl then finally he decided to work. Had to keep flagging someone down for more paint. Lots of fun to be had here! This is a pretty neat experience and I wish there were more shops like this! You come in and pay an $8 studio fee (covers your unlimited paint usage), pick a blank canvas, and get creative! I think it's a sweet spot for a first date or a tenth date! I came in on a Monday night and it was quiet and relaxing. The girls here were SOOO polite and really added to my experience. I am a stickler for auto net service. Recently, I went into color me mine with my younger sister and her friend. We arrived about 6pm on a Saturday, and were informed that the wait was 1.5-2 hours. This alone was fine. I received a phone call at 7:45pm letting us know that a table was open. We go over, select our pieces, are taught how it works, and begin to paint. At 9:02pm a worker notifies us that they are actually two minutes past close, we have to leave, and we can come back another day to finish. If they knew their closing time, then why did they even let us start? Anyone who has painted a ceramic piece understands that it requires several hours of work. At the very least, they should have informed us of the time constraint. Allow us to make the choice to stay or to leave. Now we have to pay, bring our unfinished pieces home, and come back another day. We come back the next day, about 3:30pm, and they asked if we had called ahead. This was not an option we knew we had. We were just told to come back whenever and finish. Now the wait is 4 hours. Which would put us back at that 7:45pm start time again leaving us with one hour of painting. They ended up not even being able to take us. I am frankly appalled by this absolute lack of communication and customer service. Truthfully, I regret even paying. But I did, so now we will eventually come back a third time to hopefully and finally finish our pieces. The pieces that we paid $65 and $58 for. It is all so ridiculous. I've been to Color Me Mine before, this time around we went for a work retreat. It was busy for a Wednesday morning (when there wasn't even a studio fee special), but I'm sure some families were finishing the summer off right! There were 12 of us in our group, so big kudos and appreciation on the fact that they were able to accommodate us all in the back "room". However, It's definitely not a private area, as there are pieces in the shelves that other patrons can go and view to make their selection, but for the most part, it was a good area. I am giving the overall Color Me Mine experience 4 stars, mostly because of the pricing. A typical studio sitting fee is $10 per person. The most basic ceramic pieces to select from start out at about $19 and went way way up from there. I would suggest if you are going to do Color Me Mine, come on a day/time that they do discounts on their sitting fees. It would also be nice if Color Me Mine could do some kind of group discount rate, of $1 or $2 off sitting fees for groups larger than 10, or something to that effect. Even to think about if I came on my own....Paying $10 plus a decent piece that I might actually use later for $20-$25 dollars, that is a very expensive outing. Plus I'm not really an artist, so it's not like the piece of art I created would be anything special or take that long. If you are an artist, I'm sure it would be well worth your time, efforts and money. All our work was ready a week later. read more
