I've been there many times over the years. Not as often as before. But I do visit about 2-3times a year. Most times I do visit this location is for mobile orders. My recent experience was yesterday. I had placed a mobile order and normally I just do curbside but I was in the mood to take a look inside. I had my two toddlers with me. So the bad, this location is a bit on the messy side, very unorganized and staff is almost nonexistent. They even have self serve checkout and no workers at the front. The good, they had so many Christmas decorations, ribbons, wrappings etc all on clearance 70%off and I as able to grab a few items. Most of the things are priced high but there are times when you can find items that are on sale and if you're a member you can get points and get extra deals. Their mobile order/in store pick up is also self serve! They have customers orders in individual boxes on the rack and you simple grab your items if you see it. I had ordered multiple items and one of which was oversized and couldn't fix in that box so it wasn't there. They have a button you can push to get assistance and I pushed that button about 2 times and waited a while. Until someone finally came to the resister and said she can help the next customer in line but I pointed out that I needed assistance with a a mobile order. She approached me and was an able to assist. But honestly don't know if that button worked or not. read more

These employees are amazing. I went to this store the day before Valentines Day. They were slammed with only two cashiers to handle returns, blowing up thousands of balloons and every single interaction that could not be done with self checkout. Yes, service was slow. I fault management for putting these gals in an impossible situation. BUT they rocked!! They hit it out of the park with their positive attitude and "can do" spirit. Each one I interacted with was kind and positive. I left with my two balloons feeling better than when I walked in the door and that amazes me. In the midst of chaos they were kind and caring. All those working the counter that day deserve massive bonuses. The company is truly fortunate to have you in their employ. read more

Unfortunately will not be coming back to this location because the customer service has consistently been bad here. Today is the second time I've gone to the store to pick up a mobile order and needed help because it wasn't on the shelf even after I got the notification it was ready. Both times, not wanting to disturb the person at the register because there was a line, I prepared to push the button at the front for assistance (which they've even added an extra sign to this time), only for the person at the register to rudely tell me not to push it. I used to buy invitation paper products at the store, but this time, you can only buy them online. So on my last visit, 3 out of 5 items I needed were not available. The dude and I came to Michaels in Jan 2020 to find some stuff to decorate my new office with! I am horrible at decorating and thought Michaels would be a good play to start my search. Any who, the dude and I went aisle to aisle just looking for stuff. I was looking for a Rose Gold picture frame to display my clinical license but they didn't have any rose golf frames which was disappointing. Anywho the dude and I spent like an hour just exploring the place and I left with one or two items. They have shirts of different color for DIRT cheap but the dude did not want to get his shirt there for out Vday 2020 celebration (I get custom shirts made every year) So the staff was nice even the customers were in such a jolly mood! They have a rewards program which I highly recommend to join because who doesn't like reward and discounts! I always sign up but hate that it floods your email. COVID-19 phase: Glad there is another one of these! More pebble spray is needed and they had some. New pretty glam bathrooms are in the process! The workers are super nice. My mother called to see if they had the pebble paint after running out and they did. The worker was very Kind and said it would be on hold at the register. My mother and I went in and the store is very clean and well taken care of. Got the pebble paint which was ready and waiting, paid and left. Workers are masked and masks are required. I love Michael's but recently had a bad experience with the curbside service. I waited 20 minutes and no one showed up to the curbside until I called the store to ask why they were taking so long. The staff apologized, which I appreciate, but the only reason I chose curbside was to take pick up my purchase right away........ if I had to wait that long, I would of have gone inside the store instead of ordering ahead of time online :( read more

Today was the first time I have shopped at this location. I always go to Joann's so I thought hey I used to like going here let's check it out. The shopping experience was fine, the products were fine, I left with great deals for vinyl rolls, I was happy. My girlfriend and I decided it was time to leave and we were very surprised there were new self check outs available. I was excited about this. I start my self check out and the only employee at the register just starts HOVERING over us before I could even start. We had the scan gun ready to start as soon as I was done registering an account to receive a $5 coupon because, why not? He literally watched us and can practically feel him breathing on me and made us super uncomfortable. I could understand the need to "watch" a customer to prevent theft or whatnot but I'd say 2ft away might have been an understatement. At least be nonchalant about it. We ended up just giving him the gun and said have at it. It kind of defeats the purpose of a self check out, right? I don't know if this is standard procedure or not but it is not acceptable and ruined my experience and we felt we were being profiled as if we were trying to steal. Was it our skin color? Our clothing? We were the ONLY customers at the register. There are cameras, WHY did he need to watch us check out like criminals? I will stick to JoAnns from now on. They have the same stuff. I'm disappointed. I'm a patient and nice friendly guy and usually respect someone doing their job, but Michaels, what THE FUCK. While it seems that some of the negative reviews here are petty, I respect the varied opinions of most. My review, however, is as good as it gets. I received a vintage autographed National Hockey League jersey as a Christmas gift and wanted to have it framed in a shadow box. As the NHL player was a big time star for the Boston Bruins decades ago, the framing had to be done right. After visiting Michaels/Aaron Brothers company and one of their major competitors, I selected Michaels in Clovis to do the job. Here's why. The key to a "masterpiece" shadow box is the creative layout of the shirt, jersey, whatever. If it was easy to do we would all just buy the box, stick the shirt in and save a few bucks. The way the shirt lies, the positioning of the sleeves, the background colors, the frame itself and the positioning of extra items to be added to the box such as pictures all takes artistic creativity. Brianna and Peter were the master artists in morphing a shirt in a glass box to a piece of work so beautiful that it now adorns a wall in our study. From the beginning they offered the creativity I needed and because of that they got the job. The project was done on time adding to the professionalism of the people there. My only suggestion is to make sure that there is a sale ongoing for this type of framing. Ask about this. Otherwise it can be expensive. I was just in there today and asked if they were busier open for customers or curbside and they said they were so glad to get the store back open. The nice clerk said curbside was crazy. I pop in from time to time when I'm in Clovis. Sometimes the inventory will vary a bit from Fresno, items such as scrapbooking paper. Other than that, if you've seen one Michaels you've seen them all. Store will sometimes be out of sale items, so shop at the beginning of the week to avoid a broken heart. Store is clean, staff is friendly. Usually always find multiple registers open, which certainly makes patrons happy. Lots of parking. read more

I hadn't been here in a very long time. I was shocked by how run down it is now. Used to be such a nice clean store. What happened? Something is very wrong with the automatic doors. Sounds like nails on a chalkboard when they move. The cart area was filthy dirty. Spilled food and just gross. Had a hard time finding a cart to push that didn't have issues. Many items were out of stock in the beading isles. I had to go to Hobby Lobby. That store was well stocked up. Really hated the one long line at the check out. Super slow. Cashier was pleasant. They have those lame carts with the pole so you can't take it to your car so don't make any large purchases because you have to hump everything out carrying it in bags yourself. My husband and I had the best experience yesterday at the framing counter. A really nice man by the name of Thomas helped us, who happened to be the service manager back there. He was just as excited as us! My husband and I as well as ours kids absolutely love going to concerts and the hubby collects concert posters. Well, as nervous as he was to leave his pride and joys, Thomas gave us complete comfort in knowing they will handled with care, he even put on some white gloves and said the would immediately go into the volt until it's time to gram them. Last Wednesday I was in a bind because the precut mat I purchased from another store, did not fit the photo I was trying to frame. The inside cut was too small. I didn't know what to do, but I took a chance and went to Michael's. There was a gentleman by the name of Michael working that night around 6 o'clock. I explained to him the bind I was in and that I had to have this project completed that night in order to take it into work the next day. I knew that in a normal circumstances I would have to submit the order but Michael was willing to help me out. He went ahead and made the cut right then. I was so relieved! He was very nice and understanding. I'll definitely be going back and continue sending my business to Michael's. They have a great store. read more

I really like the layout of this Michaels. Although you can get lost looking for what you want it's pretty enjoyable with the ambiance and crafts that are available everywhere you turn. My experience was great, we bought some journals here instead of another store and while here I did get some personalization material which was worth every penny. I asked a worker to find an item and he directed us with really good customer service. I was able to save 30% off the purchase by downloading the app which took only 1 min total. Our receipt came with a 40% off coupon, what's not to like. read more

Awful. Customer. Service. This place was bad before covid. The staff is always rude and never helpful. I've learned to expect it. Now?? Now you get harassed and discriminated against when you won't wear a mask. Your policy is literally illegally discriminating against people with medical or mental ailments that don't allow them to be masked and not breath fresh air. Your policy emboldens your employees to be disrespectful, and treat customers like second class citizens to the Karen's of the world that complain. How about tell Karen that her concerns are HERS and she has the option to leave if she's uncomfortable with others. Not the other way around. It's literally discriminating customers. And illegal. Masks? Are not illegal to not wear. And a policy does not override the law when it becomes discriminating. I was rudely approached today by an employee because someone complained. Nobody was social distancing it was about 30 ppl in line packed like sardines and my not wearing a mask was the issue? It was appalling to say the least. I will never be shopping here again until you stop illegally discriminating people and stop allowing your employees to continue this power trip. I've been to many stores that respect that we all are individuals with different ailments and if asked to mask and told this, they drop it. This employee was atrocious and has lost Michaels a customer whose spent thousands at your stores. Never will I ever be a customer again. While I LOVE Michaels stores in general, this location in particular is not up to par. I think they have an issue with inventory control or something. I have called and asked if an item is available and was either told yes or no but when I actually go to the store its a different story. Also I have placed online pick up orders that say things are in stock and an hour later I'll get a notification email my order was cancelled. One time I came to pick something up and they said in their system it showed I had already signed for it! WTH!?! Overall, just multiple bad experiences with this specific locations. read more

I recently was in need of a letter to be delivered to my house so I paid for expedited shipping. I thought that I could arrange for the item to be left at my door by logging into my account online, but it didn't give me the option. The letter needed to be signed for and I didn't want to take time off from work and I didn't have someone that I could have it sent to. Fortunately, UPS allowed me to for an addition fee to send my letter to Michaels for pick up with a valid ID. I was happy to pay $6.00 to pick up my needed letter mail at a convenient time. I was unsure of how the process worked so I waited in line and was eventually helped by a cashier. she informed me I could press a button that was located on a stand close to the entrance and someone would help me with my mail as soon as possible and waiting in line wasn't necessary. She looked at my ID and asked what kind of package I was looking for and within minutes I had my letter. I was definitely much happier with the mail retrieval process at Michael and prefer it to the post office any day! read more

I've been there twice. The first time was to get a boatload old family photographs custom framed. The sale clerk was great about helping me pick out complimentary mats and frames and in designing collages out of some of the smaller photos. He even helped me save money by telling me that I didn't need to get the more expensive UV protection glass when I wasn't planning on hanging any of the pictures in direct sunlight. The total bill for approximately 15 framed collages and photographs was $680. For that kind of money I'm expecting perfection. Here's the kicker: fully half of the finished products had problems. There was tissue and strands of hair between the photos and glass in a few of the frames. One frame had a big old thumb print on the inside of the glass. Several of the mats had been cut crookedly, and one mat had been punctured by a pin or Exacto knife about an inch from the top of the frame. The damage was obvious even from a few feet away. When I pointed these problems out to the new sales person, I got attitude galore. She basically told me that I could take the frames apart at home to wipe off the fingerprints and pull out the tissue and hair. I could fill in the puncture with some White Out and cover it up with a black permanent marker (the mat was black). I didn't pay nearly $700 to do any such thing, so I asked to speak with a manager. The manager agreed to fix the problems, but told me that I couldn't get the frames back for three weeks. (They'd taken three weeks to complete the original job, so I guess my fixes when right back to the end of the line.) In the end I got everything back in reasonable condition, but it took them a month and a half and I think I paid waaaaay too much. The second time I went there was in March to get the materials for two Easter baskets. The baskets themselves were reasonably priced ($6 for a 14-inch basket), but everything else was much, much too expensive. $4.99 for a pair of headband bunny ears? $6.99 for a pack of sidewalk chalk? $2.99 for a tiny packet of Easter basket grass? I don't think so. In the end I just bought the baskets and walked next door to WalMart for everything else. read more

This store made a utility agreement with PG&E that requires them to turn off about 60% of the stores lights on a randomly selected day, chosen presumably by the utility company. On Monday, September September 15th my wife and I visited the store. Both of us have diminished eyesight, with me needing adequate light so see that we were selecting. After a frustrating 20 minutes were finally were offered help by a sales associate in the store, by then we had given up and decided to not make a purchase until we could actually see the merchandise in the store. Making the deal with PG&E was not a good idea as the light they offered left the majority of the isles inadequately lit to make a selection, and could be a safety issue as well. Some of the isles where so dim that items on the bottom shelves were indistinguishable. As we had to travel about 10 miles each way to the store, it was a disappointing waste of our resources not being able to see the merchandise just so they could save theirs. read more

The best part is the discounts 50% and some stores give you a senior discount you need to ask for it. Younger clerks don't give you that discount. I like this store every where i go. read more

So I came to this location two days ago after looking up my nearest UPS. I didn't know Michael's offered their store as a drop-off as I never really use UPS. I had a return from something I bought online and I had it in a box. I didn't have the proper tape but thought perhaps they had one behind the counter I could use. So I'm standing in line and there are 2 cashiers. A younger man and a middle aged woman. I'm next in line and I see her taking glances at my untaped package. She seemed annoyed already. So I walk up to her register when she calls me and I politely ask for tape and I also apologize. She gives me that same annoyed look and right always she said, "We can do it this time but going forward you need to have your package ready." I would have bought some tape no problem but I figured I would ask since it's literally a craft store. She didn't even have to move from her spot to go get the tape she just grabbed it from under the register where she was and handed it to me. She didn't even have to bend down. I apologized again and she kind of cut me off and said, "So our system is down so I can't scan it and I can't give you a receipt." I told her it was ok(as I scrambled with the tape) and that I would try to find a UPS store because I really needed a receipt. I didn't even get the tape on my package. I gave her back the tape and thanked her and went on my way. Now that I'm reflecting I'm more annoyed than anything. Why would she be annoyed with me for not having my package tape ready if she already knew their system wasn't really available. It wasn't crazy busy and I wasn't "holding" the line up. If anything I feel like she should work on her patience and compassion. Also, make sure the ups drop off works before you get annoyed that someones box isn't tape ready. You work in customer service just like I do and I would gladly give someone tape each time. read more

She made it seem so simple like "aisle 95 in kids" I was like oh ok thank you, as I proceeded through the entire store looking for any visible aisle number. I finally circled around to the same girl I originally asked the question. I asked " where can I see aisle numbers?, she said oh they are right here! Oh, ( stuck on stupid) they aren't right here, they are on the other side. I said, oh, they are on on the other side, "how convenient!".
