    Outside with sale items!

This was a good craft store with an amazingly large amount of stock. We wandered around looking at all the aisles and categories until we found the section we were seeking. We didn't see any staff in the aisles to assist us. But when we found the correct section, there were lots of items from which to choose. And I liked that there were several price points, as well. After choosing our items, we continued to wander to see what' else was in the store. There are lots of creative possibilities and artistic hobbies. You can get a lot of ideas for projects here. In addition to their regular stock, they had a huge section for Easter related items. And their holiday things were on sale for fifty percent off. I didn't realize that they also have an art framing department. This is good to know for the future.

Michaels is a great place for home decor and DIY stuff. I needed some nice photo frames and I decided to stop by recently. They had some items on sale which I thought were really nice. Their regular coupon is usually only good for regular merchandise, but if you are 55 years or older, you can request their senior discount, which applies to sale and regular priced merchandise ! Michaels is known for selling a large variety of arts and crafts products, including scrapbooking, beading, knitting, rubber stamping, home décor items, floral items, kids' crafts, paints, framing, greenery, baking and many seasonal items. Michaels produces a number of private brands including Recollections, Studio Decor, Bead Landing, Creatology, Ashland, Celebrate It, Art Minds, Artist's Loft, Craft Smart, Loops & Threads, Make Market, Foamies, LockerLookz, Imagin8, and Sticky Sticks. The company also offers custom framing through its Aaron Brothers Custom Framing store-within-a-store and online. Online, customers can upload, edit and print photos from their computer or social media sites. They can then select and customize the size, surface, frame and mat.

I'm not much of a crafter in my life, but every once in a while I do find myself at a Michaels for any number of reasons. Usually it's that I'm trying to be a crafty person, but I fail miserably. Enough about me... This Michaels is set up like every other Michaels I've been too. I recommend downloading their app for coupons. My last few visits have been to their framing department located in the back of the store. I had a piece of artwork I wanted framed for some time. I met with an associate who walked me through the process of the color-coated stickers on the frames which are lined up on the wall. Each sticker represents essentially the beginning price point of the frame work you're buying. I tried finding something cheap, but nice naturally (much like me). They really take their time and walk you through the entire process. They take an overhead photo of your art, digitally frame it in the frame you choose and show you, digitally, what it's going to look like when it's done. You pick glass or acrylic to go into the frame. You can get a matte if you need to as well. All the options are yours, for a fee of course. It takes about two weeks to create the frame. You can leave your art work with them or bring it back when the frame is back in stock. They'll call you to bring it in, believe me. I received multiple follow up calls to make sure I brought everything in. Another two days (ish) and the piece is yours. They give you the starting rate of the frame, but know, that's not what it's going to be. Framing will set you back a nice chunk of coin, but it looks beautiful when it's done so it's easy to argue its worth. The service was amazing too, which I have to appreciate. While I can afford to frame everything I have at once or I'd be broke, I'd be happy to frame something again here soon.

It's a huge store with lots of various art and craft materials and supplies to offer if you can locate what you might be looking for, which I found to be a problem when shopping Michaels. In my case I couldn't locate any floor clerks and the cash register checkout clerks were just that, cash register checkout clerks who seemed to be totally unacquainted with the items carried by the store much less with where anything might be located. About the only thing I can really say good about the place is that it houses a vast supply of varied inventory, but as far as customer service, assistance or even a friendly smile from one of the employees, forget it.

Michael's is a chain for everything Arts, crafts, hobbies and now picture framing. They have a decent selection of everything for your project. This occasion we used the for framing services since the other place (Squirrels) is out of business. I had a poster from our trip to south Africa that I wanted to get dry mounted on foam board. It was a small job and only took a couple days to complete. I arrived to pick it up and they open it for inspection. Looked decent but I did notice a corner that wasn't glue'd down completely. I also had to request that they add the piece on the back so I could hang it. The clerk took time and carefully measured and installed it. I'll probably try them on something else. Check the Sunday paper or weekly sale ads for $$ saving coupons.

    On discount!!

I loved this venue and the vendors were so sweet and amazing. It was really spacious and, although I was prepared to spend, I left with more than I intended to. Happy it was all to support local vendors! A great craft bazaar!

After a brief hiatus in 2020 due to COVID, the event returned in 2021 in a smaller format at The Backyard before expanding to larger venues like Revolution Live and the War Memorial Auditorium. I recently attended the Indie Craft Bazaar at the historic War Memorial Auditorium, which has just undergone a multi-million-dollar renovation by the Florida Panthers. The venue--flexible enough to host concerts and large-scale events--was the perfect setting. The bazaar runs from 12-5 PM and features over 95 vendors, with free admission and parking. It's also very family-friendly. I had a great time browsing a wide variety of handmade, artisan, vintage, and locally made goods. There was everything from jewelry, live plants, and clothing to crystals, candles, bath products, accessories, stickers, crochet flowers, baked goods, and stationery. One standout for me was the upcycled concert T-shirts from Backstage Trends. They also offer fun extras like free swag bags for the first 100 guests, DIY activities, and food and drinks from The Federal. Plus, you can even go ice skating next door at the Baptist Health IcePlex. It's easy to pair the Indie Craft Bazaar with other activities in Holiday Park and make a full day of it. I'm so glad I finally got to experience this unique and vibrant market!

No extra cost for paint or just being there, just the cost of what you choose to paint. They have also mosaic which I did not try but will be trying next time. They didn't have the largest selection of items to paint, I do wish they had more house wears selection, it was a lot of holiday and little animals, random stuff like a smores with a face, stuff like that. Not really what I am interest in but that's just me. I did find a lovely little vase so that was perfect. Had tons stencils and other supplies you could use and hairdryers to help dry faster which was really nice. Overall had a great experience, will be back for sure!
