** 6 Year Updated Review ** Well well well! What a difference a few years make! For starters, they moved a mile up to a much smaller location. Great free parking. Great customer service carried over from last location. That's it. The in store items are 80% less than previously. Some aisles are bare. If i could it would be negative stars! The service was absolutely atrocious! I went in to look around with my husband. He was looking at a few things while I went to the bathroom and didn't find what I was looking for. My husband had bought some things from the sports store next door. As we were walking out one of the deplorable associates said to us that the registers were there....we did not find what we wanted and treated us like horrible humans when we are currently going through a loss in our family of our father. They need to teach their associates how to treat customers and people in general!!! I will be reporting them to BBB! read more

Nice staff long wait in framing area Just like all the other Michael's it's artsy and crafty just not my speed compared to Hobby Lobby. We waited 17mins before we were assisted just to pick up an order. But we entertained ourselves by entertaining 3 toddlers under the age of 4! We had worked off all the tacos and nachos we just had and definitely sobered up by the end of this visit. The work was completed and looked good would use them again especially if they have and take coupons. read more

Despite it being 2+ years since my last visit, the service, unfortunately, hasn't really changed....apparently, little/no customer interaction is a thing now?!?! I shopped for about 45 minutes and the only person that bothered to even say hello was a woman who was in the midst of helping someone else (again, in the framing area). As always, there are good sales and a decent amount of product readily available. The paper towel dispenser in the men's room was torn completely out of the wall, literally, the paper towels were in a hole where the dispenser used to be. The shared parking lot can be tough to navigate as it is ALWAYS crowded in this shopping center. As long as you don't mind a little walk, you will be fine. read more

I was going to give this store higher reviews until I HAD to go in there a second time. Initially the SA who rang up was helpful and attentive- he helped me get the items to my car even though they didn't fit. I had to leave the store and come back to pick up later, but I'd changed my mind and wanted to go to another location because it was more convenient. The problem is- they marked my purchase as picked up even though I never picked up. When I called after I left, One of the associates said it was fine, and they could process the return since obviously the product was still in the store and never picked up. I waited 5 days for a refund, no refund. So I called again. This time the person says I had to come back into the store. So I go back. Firstly, I understand the store is but so big and SAs are limited, but that check out area is poorly designed and causes congestion for no reason. Secondly, I waited in the store for 20+ minutes for a refund- some of the time I had to stand in that confusing line, the rest was spent listening to the associate huff, puff and act like it was such a burden to give me my money back. This experience was my first time buying anything from Michael's. I thought this location was better than canton but I think I'll avoid Michael's all together. read more

4/5/14 Anytime I am feeling crafty (i.e. doing a scrapbook or getting stuff for a baby or bridal shower) this is always my first stop to get supplies. The staff is always so helpful when you can find someone. The store is pretty big so it can be at times hard to find someone but when you do they are always so knowledgeable and helpful! read more

Michaels is Michaels. They have everything crafty you could possibly think of!!! I have a hard time finding what I want sometimes, so I usually just ask a staff member for assistance. They are always willing to help, but pending what time of day I go, sometimes I have trouble finding someone in general. I usually look for coupons prior to going, I can almost always find a 20% off a regularly priced item coupon. I do like that they accept competitor coupons, too!! Read their fine print... but it makes for good deals and a one stop shop. Giving this 3 stars as I cannot stand their parking lot. Michaels is in a strip mall with several other stores that share the lot.. I find a hard time getting a spot near by if I go during peak hours. The last time I went to this Michaels the cashier was not the friendliest - but I will say this is a first occurrence. I frequent this Michaels and know that every other cashier I have had has been cheery and bubbly. I will continue to visit this Michaels, as they have the best selection in the area (that I know of) for reasonably priced craft items. Plus... they are next to Home Goods!! read more

This michaels has its issues but it isn't the worse place. Sometimes they have long lines and a lack of help. It can be somewhat frustrating. It does also always seem. Like it's in a constant state of restocking and not as full as it could be. read more

It's a Michaels, what more can we say? I find what I need and since this one is new, it's still fairly clean. Parking outside the store is crazy. The lot is always full. Park on the other side of TJ Maxx. read more

I consistently try to give this Michael's a chance; however it has become a waste of time. They never have anything I need. So I have to travel 15 minutes or more outside of the area to pick up my craft supplies. Keep the store stocked and I think more business would flow through. When shelves are empty and you're out of everything it makes for a bad shopping experience. read more

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER AT THE OWINGS MILLS LOCATION! My husband and I got a painting for free from a friend that is on canvas. The canvas painting has no frame and is simply canvas fabric. So I check Youtube on how to stretch canvas on a frame and discover all I need are stretcher boards and a staple gun, it is pretty simple to do, and should be relatively inexpensive. I decide to go to Michaels's for stretcher boards, since this is a craft store, that also has a framing department. The first girl that attempted to assist us was new, and spent about 20 minutes fumbling around until finally the manager showed up. I was patient because I realize everyone including me has been new on a job and must learn. The manager observes that we are not really getting a price or a clear understanding about why they are using regular frames in place of stretcher boards. He does nothing to assist us, and does not tell us this girl is new. So another associate shows up, with no introduction and starts plugging in the dimensions of the painting into the computer and with a ton of attitude proceeded to tell us what we needed, and what her best price would be for the job. I wanted to discuss some options for the canvas mounting and get a clearer understanding for the process, however the associate with all the attitude, simply walked away and began assisting the manager with a cartridge for the printer. It was as if she dismissed us....the customers! In the meantime I have no understanding of the time the job will take, or if a deposit is required, or the terms and conditions of Michaels framing. We did not bring credit cards with us, only cash because i thought we were only purchasing stretcher bars that Michaels no longer carries. THIS WAS HANDLED SO POORLY BY EVERYONE INVOLVED!!! They just lost a customer for life. read more

I was looking for am item couldnt find cause items was not organized, came across an associate named Misty, she was very rude seemed bothered that i ask for I assistance. Soon as i get the cashiers, she was at the 1st register lucky me she rang up my items, i asked about coupons cause my phone wasn't loading i was told no more coupons? Im disgusted what this store turned too. I shop there very often always treated amazingly but i will take my business to other locations. read more

We had a picture framed at Michael's three years ago. One day the picture just fell off the wall for no reason. The glass as well as the frame broke. We took it back to Michael's, hoping they could just fix it for a discounted price. We were immediately told they "don't fix frames" and that we'll need to pay for a new frame and glass. Okay, we paid what we considered to be a very high price because we really wanted to get it done. We were told the picture will be ready in two weeks. Two weeks later, we got a voice message saying the picture was not ready since the frame the store received was damaged. It's been two weeks since and we haven't heard back. We tried calling the store several times but no one ever picks up the phone. We ended up going back to the store only in order to ask about the status of the order. When we got there, we were told the picture has been ready for a week already. However, no one bothered to call and let us know. We will definitely never use this store's framing services again! read more
