I noticed the melting chocolate I previously purchased had a sticker over the sell by date. Store is using a label maker to change dates! Of food product. Horrible. I just went into Michaels with my electronic bicycle and an old rude woman told me I couldn't put my bike in the store, even though there is nowhere where there's no bike racks near here! I'm so appalled by this old women and how she yelled to me it when I've been such a loyal customer! It's such a bummer which such shitty people are hired! Even though all his side stores lets me bring in my bike because it's expensive electronic bicycle, and it's my only means of transportation! I will start by saying that I have a Michael's addiction. I love arts and crafts AND I love a bargain. I saw about 3 employees close to closing. It seemed like every time I needed something, they were available. When they didn't know an answer to my question about a particular item they spoke with another employee who could. I knew they were close to closing and tried to hurry and rush out but they repeatedly told me to take my time. Although I appreciated that, I left as soon as I could because those types of customers infuriated me when I worked in retail. I will definitely be back because they always seem to have great sales and discounts. read more

I recently had several nice prints and a certificate custom framed in this store. I have gone here on previous visits to have photos custom framed and they have always done a beautiful job! This time was no exception. I took advantage of their 60% off sale, which they frequently have. My certificate and prints turned out beautiful, and are a wonderful addition to my home! read more

While my wife was at this location today and she was greated by a manager that told her "the store is closed" in a rude tone. considering they didn't close for another 5 min she started rushin to the counter and then my wife apologized for coming in so close to closing time and the response she received from the cashier was "uhh huh" which doesn't seem appropriate for a customer service type position but ok. Other then the negative experience with two employees the store has every we needed and we normally enjoy our experience there is why im only rating this at three stars read more

I went to Micheals today with my younger siblings to buy some craft supplies and as I was testing out some pens, an employee came up to me and made a rude comment. I'm an artist so I needed to test if the pens were good for the art that I draw specifically and I guess this upset her? She came up to me and said, "Are you just going to draw or are you actually going buy those items, because we have to sell those," pointing to the pen I had in my hand. Her tone of voice and her words to me indicated that she thought that I couldn't afford the items I picked up (I had another item in my hand from the store I was going to purchase). This interaction came off as racist, I felt singled out as I was the only one she seemed to have an issue with, also what's the point of having something out for customers to draw on/have something to test items out, if employees are going to be rude to customers who use it. This comment upset me so I decided to put everything back and leave the store as I couldn't handle the situation, I'll just buy my items at the Santa Maria location. read more

I usually try to keep my reviews very positive but unfortunately I've had one too many negative experience at this business and I feel my complaints need to be heard. The staff here can be a bit rude. Several times we've needed to take my handicapped sister to the restroom. They've denied us access to the PUBLIC restrooms almost every time. We cannot figure out why. They just say the restrooms are closed and don't offer any reason. Also, the staff doesn't honor their advertising. Two or three times I've gone to be something that was on "sale" and then it rings up regular price. I have a college degree and graduated at the top of my class. I can read a sign. Either Michael's has very misleading advertising or the staff have no idea how to place a sign. I refuse to shop at this store anymore. Spend your time and money elsewhere. read more

Went to find some items for a DIY that I'm working on, but one of the workers rudely commented that if I wasn't going to buy I shouldn't move the items from there place mins you this was a floral set that I was buying and I found a better one some isles later and switched it out. His name was David I believe, and after I told him that I wanted to speak to his manager he called me a Karen. Never coming back here again terrible service. read more

This was my second recent trip to Michael's framing department since I moved 7 months ago to Lompoc. About 2 months ago I brought a massive photo of a California condor taken by a biologist friend to be framed. The finished framed photo is 32" x 42" and is spectacular. Carol in framing was excellent - professional with ideas but never pushy. She knew how to compliment this photo with mat and frame without distracting from it. Addie in framing was helpful also with suggestions. My trip today to framing was a quick one: again, Carol and Addie were there. Carol helped select a mat for a prize winning photo from someone who entered the annual Nikon Small World contest. She cut it and it's perfect. This is "big city" quality framing in our little town. I had a very large and expensive painting that I wanted framed. Took it in and first time around the directions from the artist were not seen and the framing was not correct. I brought the painting back and Carol went over and beyond to make sure I was pleased with the work. During this process I got to know many of the staff from David the Manager and Michael. Everyone always treated me with the highest respect. Happy to say I have my completed painting hanging in my Home. To all the staff in Michaels Thank you for a job well done. read more

Sign up for coupons in the store or online; you get really good coupons emailed to you, and you can scan your phone at checkout. As a crafter, I think all Michael's are pretty awesome. This one has a lot of everything except employees. Sometimes it's hard to track someone down. That being said, once you find an employee, they are usually very nice and helpful. read more

I've been shopping at the Lompoc Michael's for 5 months now; I go in there at least 2-3 times a week (if not more). I can honestly say that the staff here is very attentive and polite; always willing to give an extra hand. However, as a few have said before, they've been very understaffed. I've been applying for a job at this store since I moved here from Georgia 5 months ago (I've applied 4 times, talked to the Manager (David) twice, and the assistant manager (Mike) almost every time I go in there because he's the one who keeps telling me they'll hire me) and even when they do have a hiring sign out the Manager (David) tells me they aren't hiring. So last week I'm shopping and the assistant manager (Mike) approaches me (again) about a job position, tells me to update my application (AGAIN) and let them know when it's done. So today I'm shopping and I see the manager (David) and let him know that Mike told me to tell them when my application was updated......David then tells me they won't be hiring for another week (even though they've hired quite a few new faces over the last 3 months and I've put an application in every month) and he's not sure if they'll even be hiring because they might be getting ONE employee from another store. Needless to say, the managers at the store have big communication issues because one will tell you yes we're hiring and yes we will hire you...while the other looks at you and says no we're not hiring and even when we are hiring...were not hiring. In other words...the manager needs to grow a pair of balls and say yea we're hiring but I don't want to hire you. What's sad is I only wanted a job because I miss working and art has always been a part of my life....so why not try doing something I enjoy for once right? Unfortunately for me, I will not be returning there even though I spend $100 a week there (give or take) on supplies so I can sell the things I make....I refuse to continue doing business with people who continuously give me the run around about a job that they offered me. (Now I remember why I did construction work for 10 years instead of the retail bs....because people are assholes) read more
