This old hag messed with the wrong one today let me tell yall. This old hag had the audacity like no other and if you ever see this you're a weird cruel lady with nothing better to do. I was at checkout with my six year old niece and she was innocently playing with a singular cow balloon and had it on her finger she wasn't CHEWING ON IT! Nor PULLING IT! She was just squeezing her finger with the balloon absolutely not causing any harm to it or bothering anyone she was only talking to me and told me to look at her like any normal kid does. They play in the store and put things back she had grabbed a yellow one to show me and nicely put it back where it belonged. My niece is extremely well behaved I don't sugar coat things when it comes to children I'll tell yall that. My sister went with this lady to go look at a discounted item and this lady came back and told me my sister would be back soon. My niece was playing with the balloon still as she was before doing nothing but just having it on her finger and asked my six year old niece. "Are you going to buy that" my niece shyly said "no" and this lady goes "well you should probably put it back" my niece gets nervous and immediately does and comes to me. This lady decided she wants to discipline a child that isn't hers and says "you know why you should put it back? Because if you keep doing that the balloon will get holes in it and people get mad at me when that happens. Do you want people to get mad at me?" My niece says no and she goes "yeah? You do want people to get mad at me" my niece starts to silently cry due to this old hags tone and my niece is very apologetic and if she had done something wrong I would've told her since I'm strict on her. Fast forward my sister comes back and I didn't notice my niece crying until she did and my sister asked her why she's crying the old lady decided she could answer for my niece and says "I asked her to put the balloon back" my sister says "ok well you can tell me next time something happens" the lady says " I saw her chewing on it and pulling it with her mouth" WHAT ARE YOU A PATHOLOGICAL LIAR? I started to boil that old hag was right in front of my niece when this happened my niece knows damn better than to put anything in her mouth! She's not two. My sister asks my niece if she did and obviously she says no while her voice cracks and this lady still has the audacity to say "oh well it looked like it" instead of being a professional and bigger person which she clearly was a bigger person anyways. She didn't even apologize she just kept her narrative going. My sister decided to not buy anything and just leave. Don't go to this micheal's with your kids if they touch toys for kids like any other normal kid because obviously the wicked witch of the west is watching your kids every move and will lie and fabricate a story to make your kid look like a wreck. I visit this Michaels about 2-4x per month, so I have a number of experiences to draw from. Pros: The staff are friendly and I am often asked how I am or if I need help locating what I'm looking for. The store is clean and well-organized and the restrooms are clean. Cons: Never enough cashiers at the checkout. read more

Typically, I have found the check-out people to be quite rude, but this is becoming the norm for customer service in most stores. However, my last encounter was just ridiculous. I had a cross stitch for a birthday greeting, and just wanted to frame it. The opening of the frame I selected was a bit large, so it needed a mat to fill the additional space. The "Manager" who helped me said this just could not be done, as it would not lay flat. He wanted to instead create a custom frame for over $100. This was a birthday card, not a piece of art! I had to argue my point with him until I insisted on proving him wrong. Well, of course he was wrong, and this customer finally got her way. Still over-priced at $39 total, but way less than his solution. Terribly unprofessional and even worse customer service. We will avoid this Michael's in the future. read more

This Michaels store has a different employee at the framing counter every time we took a puzzle we've had framed. Each of the former four puzzles cost just under $100 each, an amount too high for 24 x 30 inch non-glass simple metal frames. This time a young woman with bright pink dyed hair and a self-assured, "I'm the only one who's right here, " attitude looked at our puzzle we had carried on a foam framing board with a Matt board covering it and said, "We require puzzles to be dry glued to a backing board by the customer in case we drop it. " Pardon me? The last four we had these people frame had no one make such an absurd statement! Then she fumbled with the store computer frame display after we chose the frame and finally announced, "That will be $173.00." What?!! After we said that four previous puzzles were under $100 each she said, "They had to have been done when we had a sale of 65% off. What?!!! First, the others were done during the entire period of 12 months last year, making the entire year a sale? Then the "sale" devalue reveals that Michaels jacks up their prices far too high since they make reasonable profit off of "sale" prices. Then when we protested she announced there was nothing she could do to change the price at all. We asked for her supervisor. The super listened then went to the computer. After several minutes she announced, "We have to charge you $173.00 as there is no sale. " Then she said they would have a sale starting Sunday, you can bring it back then. " We asked how much off it would be and she said, "I can't say - it is never announced. " We walked out. Then we found a new Hobby Lobby store a mile away. In Hobby Lobby we were waited on immediately even though another customer was there first when the sales clerk called the store manager back to take us. He helped select the frame and checked the computer. "That will be $76.00." Well, Michaels, you and your cheating sales people won't get another dime from us for even a plastic rose! read more

I would give negative stars if I could! I went in to make a simple return today. Two identical items on the same receipt purchased just last week and paid for with a credit card. I didn't have the credit card with me that I made the purchase with, but I didn't think this would be an issue. The cashier (also the store manager who's name I did not get) took my items and my receipt, scanned all three and asked if she could put the return back on the card I paid with. I said sure that wouldn't be a problem, but I didn't have the card with me (I have been to many other stores where they can and do process returns to cards without having the card present). The cashier/manager said that without the card she couldn't put the money back. I said that was okay, I would take a cash refund. This is where she stated that she could not give me cash. Without the card she could not process the return at all and I would have to take my merchandise back and come back when I had the credit card with me. I live 40 minutes from this store and it is the closest one to me, I only come into town once a week AND I had already drug both of my children into the store to process this return. I refused that option and told her that I would need a cash refund as the return policy on the receipt does not say that he return can only be processed the same way the original purchase was. The receipt says only that refunds will be given for products returned with a receipt within 60 days and that products paid for with a check will require a 10 day waiting period before a return can be processed. I had to argue with the cashier/manager for a few minutes and ask for HER managers phone number. She did give me a phone number and she did FINALLY agree to give me cash for my return, but she gave me attitude about it "I am going to do it, but I'm not supposed to and I won't EVER do it again". The phone number that she gave me was the number for the computer company that process their returns NOT her manager as she stated, another lie. Obviously customer service is not an issue for these people, I won't be returning to this store and am anxiously awaiting the opening of an unnamed new craft store in Lynwood next month so I can forgo all Michaels stores. read more

I've never had a problem at this Michaels location. They've always been courteous, kind and wonderful. They are a bit sparse on some of the merchandise but that really can't be helped since they can only order what they have available to them. I don't usually write reviews for places but I wanted to counter-balance the 1-star rating that this establishment has received. I have worked in customer service for over 9 years and I can tell you that the biggest grievance I hear from customers is that "I've been to (insert another establishment) and THEY did it for me." Michaels is not that establishment and they do not carry the same policies that the other places might. It seems like the complaint was made, simply because this individual did not get their way. What's funny is that if you read it, the manager did everything correctly, followed procedure, and seemed like they were helpful and efficient. It's not their fault that their policy won't allow them to return things to a card without the physical card, and in some cases the POS won't ALLOW them to do that. Sometimes, purchases are not tracked to specific cards, but merely the sale of items. This would mean that in order to return something to the rightful card, (which is indicated by the last four on the receipt) they would need the actual card. It's for the customer's protection. In most cases, when a customer doesn't have the card and they ask for cash, it means that the customer found the receipt and is trying to make a quick buck. I'm not saying this was the situation here, but companies train their associates to be aware of those situations in particular, and since the receipt doesn't show your full name, they want to make sure. I didn't mean to pick the last reviewers post apart, but I find it discouraging to see that they had the audacity to post a rating of 1-star and a rant about their experience, when really, they were actually proving that the people who work and run the store actually follow their policies to protect their customers. read more

Worst customer service! When i tried to use a coupon she talked to me like i was an idiot trying to explain that even though I bought an item at regular price I couldn't use my 40% off a regular price item coupon! I still don't get it but she took the time to loudly and rudely embarrass me in front of the entire line! Won't go back! read more

Disappointed with what Michaels is turning into. It's so corporate fake and cold now. Up tight dress codes and overly fake attitudes. Magazines and food on the shelves and a long cattle run to get to the lines to run you through all that impulse buy crud. Selection of items is poor. They don't keep enough stock as every time I go in the sketch book shelves have empty spots. (always when I need one too!) Employees are rude. During Christmas I stood in line for 10 mins with one lady in line and another employee was standing at a cash register but wouldn't ring me up or even acknowledge that I existed. read more

I love this Michaels. Mostly because of a worker there named Julia! TALK ABOUT AMAZING! i can come to here with any craft question and she has just the perfect thing to help me out! to be honest when i go there I search her out to help me if I need her. The yarn selection is a bit on the small side but it's still a great store! I go here at least once a month and everyone seems very nice.

This is a great location for craft supplies or even holiday decorations. My family has been visiting here more and more lately with the holidays, and we are happy with the selection, the staff, and the layout of the store. Some of the items are high priced, but Michael's almost always has a coupon that you can use for 40% - 50% off of the highest priced item (just check their flyer or website). read more
