Arrived 1.5 hrs later than arranged. I was quoted $330 cost actually came to $605. I think I was excessively charged. I was charged for 4 hrs work and 1.5 hours driving from Santa Barbara to Goleta and back to take 35 boxes to a storage unit. I wish I could give them ZERO star! I had a HORRIBLE experience with Michael and his 'movers'. I decided to schedule my move over 2 week-ends. The 1st move was ok. They mostly moved boxes into my garage. But they showed up 3 hours late. No heads-up! Had to reach out to Michael, who had no idea his movers were late. The 2nd move the following week-end was a complete DISASTER! They damaged the walls and stairs in my newly remodeled home, my fridge and my mattress. Michael did come later to fix my walls. But BEWARE he has NO insurance! His insurance is his words, meaning he will fix only if/what he can fix. He supposedly tried to look for new doors for my fridge. But he couldn't find new doors, so I'm left with a +$2K fridge covered with dents. His movers do not have the proper equipment, nor training. Most movers use straps to carry heavy items nowadays. Not these guys! Which is mostly why they damaged everything in my house. I had asked for wardrobe boxes. They came with only 3 boxes that were falling apart and were disgusting. They were supposed to cover my mattress to protect it, but the cover was full of holes, so it got damaged. Had to reach out to Michael so many times to try to get an update. He kept on telling me that he'd fix my fridge, but that never happened. Do yourself a favor and find another moving company to avoid the headaches I've experienced dealing with Michael over the past few months! UPDATE: Out of 6 hours, the movers spent +2.5 hours in the stairs discussing how to move my fridge. My neighbors -who have the exact same floorplan- told me it took their movers 10 minutes with straps for a bigger and heavier fridge! Straps! What a genius idea! Imagine leaving your car at the valet parking and they bring it back with dents all over. They then tell you that they won't charge you for parking! My +$2K new fridge looks like I picked it up in the back of an alley. What about my $2K Tempur-Pedic mattress and my new flooring in my stairs, which is very expensive to repair! The movers complained to me that Michael takes $$ out of their paycheck when they damage things. It definitely appears that it was not the 1st time they were damaging items from customers due to the lack of proper equipment and training. And Michael should disclose the facts that he does NOT have insurance to all his customers upfront, so we can make an informed decision when choosing a company to move our valuable belongings... read more

Used yelp to find quotes and ended up using Michael's move. I provided him with details on what needed to be moved and his estimate of 4 hours for the move was spot on. He also recommended 4 guys to make the move faster and that was a good recommendation- I mean the guys are human and they get tired too but they were good about rotation what each person did to optimize move time. They had a late night move the night before and Michael asked if it was ok to push our time an hour later- for me it was fine...I appreciated the call vs them show up an hour late the next day. The guys took care of my stuff and were on time. I noticed they started the clock for the move about 5 min before they called me (had to double check with my phone log) but overall they were good. They also left a small dirty mark on my mattress (it's a temperputic-which i do not recommend btw), but previous movers I used also left a mark so I think my mattress is just the worst for movers-ever mover has a hard time moving it. The movers work hard and they're friendly so I would consider using them again. read more

Michael was great from start to finish. He was the first to reply to my Yelp request, and was kind, courteous and efficient throughout the process and move. Although he showed up late, and took a little longer than expected, he made up for it by helping disassembling/assembling our king-size bed frame so we were able to sleep on our bed the first night.
