I contacted Michael for a local move from Ojai to Ventura. He is responsive on the phone and came by to look at the items we were moving and suggested the number of movers. We agreed on a date and time and the movers showed up with the truck about 45 minutes late. However to Michael's credit, he called and let me know that the crew would be late. The loading went smoothly. The items were moved into place efficiently and without damage. The crew were friendly and accommodative and were willing to move some of the items around so that my wife could locate them in the most suitable location. My only suggestion is that Michael make a practice of confirming the date and time of appointment a day or two before the scheduled move. In my case I had to call/text to ensure that they would show up as planned, hence the 4 stars. I would certainly use them again. read more

Moving can be stressful but will never do it again without the help, and will always recommend Michael's first - they make it so painless! Michael's was referred to us in Ojai and they were a life saver for us four times this year, between Ojai and West LA. Each trip was complicated, moving entire homes and storage units... truckloads of delicate furniture, fine art and ceramics (and all the rest), and coordinating multiple stops. Everything was packed and wrapped beautifully with zero damage, and drop off was as careful as the packing. Each crew has been so gracious, down to earth, precise and have gone above and beyond, and Michael is always available to coordinate. Just wanted to say how great our movers were. We had a pretty complicated move, and they were fast and efficient and incredibly patient. Our house had 3 flight of stairs and the house we moved into was another 3 story....they moved couches king size beds dining tables cribs flat screens dressers and were so helpful getting it done so our kids could come home that night to a made room. First of all they were half an hour late. What takes 2 Meathead Movers 3 hours took these people 6 1/2. Meathead was able to put a desk in a room in a few minutes while it took these movers 30+ minutes just figuring out how to get it out. Michael will recommend getting 3 movers and this is likely due to how slow they are. Move a large piece, time for a 10 minute break. When you bring up a concern he will reference his religion (like that's relevant or matters) and told us "I don't know what you think you saw". I know what I saw and have Ring cameras to back up my statements. Just use Meathead Movers, they will be on time and you'll actually get your money worth. read more

Overall I had a positive experience with Michael the owner and his crew. We had a slow start with some problems that delayed our starting time by 45 minutes. However, once the guys got rolling we were able to accomplish the majority of the move in a very efficient and careful manner. It was obvious as a survivor of 8+ moves in the last 20 years that these guys knew how to protect our belongings and safely pack the truck to ensure nothing was damaged in transit. They carefully wrapped the furniture and appliances as part of their service. I would strongly recommend Michael's for your moving needs. My movers canceled on me a few hours before their pick up time and I was freaked out. Michael and his guys SAVED US. I called him that morning and he squeezed me in that afternoon. He had so many people helping that they moved our entire 3 bedroom house from Camarillo to Oxnard and moved all our stuff in within 3 hours! Michael is one of the most professional people I've ever met. And he's one of the kindest, too. He assisted me with getting my brother's stuff moved into storage from his apartment. Not only that, but he and his guy helped me go through my brother's stuff (later on) to consolidate it so we could move it into a smaller storage unit. I'm so glad I went with Michael's Moves! I was moving from LA to Ojai, and they arrived right on time (which is no small feat when battling LA traffic!); they were careful with my furniture & belongings; were relatively speedy in getting everything loaded, transported, & unloaded, and were more affordable than many other movers I'd called. Added bonuses: they were friendly; provided wrapping materials at no additional charge, and were very good about communicating with me leading up to the move. Michael replied promptly when I texted him questions and was very accommodating in terms of ensuring he brought a big enough truck for my move (I wasn't sure how much space I'd need, and he made certain I'd be covered with plenty of room to spare!). I was super happy with the service, and appreciated them taking much of the stress out of my moving day!
