The cheese at this part is almost 1/2 way down. There's hardly any sauce. We paid over $30 for this! INSANE!

In this season where comfort food is deeply appreciated, we were excited to get pizza for my husbands birthday. This was a SPLURGE as it costs almost twice as much as what we'd usually get. I'm not sure if they were running low on sauce and cheese because this pizza hardly has any on it. I can not imagine that this is how it's prepared regularly. Perhaps they have someone new. At some spots, the cheese didn't start until at least 2 inches from the edge and the sauce looks like it was brushed on... it is all but non-existent. The crust is good, which I'm thankful for but this is just really disappointing. Massive FAIL.

The pizza is good but I think the dough is overcooked and very hard. The staff is very sociable and friendly.

Michael's Pizza My friend has been hyping up Michael's Pizza for as long as I could remember, so naturally I was really excited to include this to be a part of my Pizza of the Month cycle. Not might be the best pizza I have ever had, but it's not the worst. Pretty standard pie here. There's no definitive features that Michael's Pizza has that makes it out of the ordinary. The only thing that the company stands out for is its ridiculous charge of $1 for ranch. You cheapskates. The takeout method did not hold the heat of the pie well, really would have liked the pizza to be hotter and crispier. Nothing worse than having to throw the sucker in the oven. But that's the price you pay when it comes to takeout I guess. So I probably won't be having Michael's for a while, but that's not to say others won't enjoy it. If you're in the Calabasas area and don't want to succumb to Dominos. Then Michael's is your best and safest best! Which isn't that bad of an alternative.

After one of the most emotionally exhausting weeks our family has ever endured, we found ourselves laughing in disbelief after being chased away by a rattlesnake at Las Virgenes Creek. Sometimes life has a funny way of reminding you that the best stories are never the ones you plan. Still carrying that adrenaline--and the weight of everything the week had brought--we made our way to Mendocino Farms in Calabasas, hoping for nothing more than a peaceful dinner. What we found was something far more meaningful. Our little girl, Pinta, had just celebrated her 17th birthday. To most people she's "just a dog." To us, she's family... our little strawberry. She's been courageously battling health issues, and after days of worry, tears, and countless prayers, there was one tiny victory worth celebrating: She wanted to eat. Without hesitation, one incredibly kind young gentleman--whose name I wish I could remember--prepared a fresh chicken dinner especially for her. It wasn't extravagant. It wasn't complicated. It was simply... kind. And somehow, that simple act became the most important meal served in the restaurant that evening. Watching her happily nibble on fresh chicken, stop for a sip of cool water, then come back for another bite felt like watching hope return one mouthful at a time. My partner and I couldn't stop smiling. After days of wondering what tomorrow might bring, we were finally allowed to simply enjoy today. What struck me wasn't just one employee--it was the entire team. There was no feeling that we were inconveniencing anyone. No rushed interactions. No obligation. Just genuine hospitality. Every smile felt sincere. Every conversation felt personal. Every moment reminded us that great restaurants don't just feed people... They care for them. I often think businesses spend enormous amounts of time trying to create memorable guest experiences, when in reality they're created by people who choose kindness in moments no handbook could ever script. If someone from Mendocino Farms' leadership happens to read this, I hope you know something: Whatever culture you're cultivating in Calabasas is working. Your team didn't simply serve dinner. They unknowingly became part of one of our family's favorite memories. Years from now, I doubt we'll remember exactly what we ordered. But we'll always remember the night our little strawberry smiled over a plate of chicken... and how a group of strangers made us feel like we belonged. Some restaurants leave you full. The very special ones leave your heart a little fuller, too. Thank you, Mendocino Farms. Thank you for reminding us that kindness is still the finest ingredient anyone can serve.

The Palomilla sandwich had tough and chewy meat with a sad portion of broken up shoestring fries, and the top piece of bread was razor thin and falling apart, leaving it essentially open faced. The Father's Day tomahawk steak special was a great value for the price and the portion was huge. The creamed spinach was amazing, and the mashed potatoes were delicious. What truly made this experience stand out was the customer service. David and, I believe, Lance were absolutely wonderful.
