Breakfast burrito and a side of sourdough
    Edith S.

Yum breakfast!!! This palce is very cute. There's indoor and outdoor seating. Located in the Commons shopping center . Food was really good. We had the breakfast burrito.. It was big enough for two people and we ordered the sourdough with butter and jelly. The spicy salsa was a must!Mushroom cappuccino was awesome with almond milk. Staff was super warm and inviting. Coming back!

I was surprised how slow it was for 4:30pm on a Saturday. But regardless, my server was friendly and the food was tasty. I devoured the Blue fin tuna (from sharing section)...I mean I didn't even take a picture of it. I had the vitality shot from the juices, yummy! My absolute favorite was the steak tartar. Spicy, full of flavors (and filling) Will come back for that and to try some other items (and drinks!)

    The worst crispy chicken sandwich
    Maral C.

Lovely outdoor seating area and friendly servers, but the service was very slow and the food quality was very poor. I ordered the crispy chicken sandwich, and it was extremely dry with tough meat, barely any coleslaw, and no flavor. It was honestly one of the worst crispy chicken sandwiches I've had. I asked for a small side of coleslaw to add some flavor and make the sandwich more enjoyable. It took about 10 minutes to arrive, and by then the sandwich had gone cold and was even harder to eat. The side was also very small. To make matters worse, they charged an additional $1.50 for the coleslaw. There was no offer to replace the sandwich, improve it, or remove it from the bill. They only removed the extra coleslaw charge after I complained when I saw the check. Overall, the customer service was disappointing, and the food quality did not meet expectations. Unfortunately, I won't be returning

Black Kale salad added shrimp and avocados + Brussels sprouts + steak frites

I would give it a 3.8 rating.. Tried Superba in Calabasas and overall had a nice experience. Sitting outside was such a good vibe, especially on a beautiful day definitely the move if the weather's nice. Service was good and the food was solid, though nothing that completely blew me away. I ordered the kale salad (no raisins) and actually really liked it, especially after adding shrimp. For drinks, I got their spritz and it was refreshing and easy to sip perfect for an afternoon patio moment. My friend ordered the steak and frites. It was okay, but the fries were the highlight: well-seasoned and crispy. We also shared the Brussels sprouts good flavor, but I wish they were crispier. They add red grapes to the Brussels sprouts, which I wasn't a fan of... the warm grapes with Brussels just didn't make sense to me and the combo didn't really work. Overall, it was a good meal and I'd go again. Next time I want to try breakfast the breakfast burritos looked really good.

Met up for a much needed lunch date with a girlfriend. Perfect afternoon so outdoor seating was a good idea. This place has an amazing patio so it was perfect for an afternoon meal. Inside is quite chic as well. Whoever is the designer/decorator has an amazing sense of style. Checked in which we were told it'll be about a 10 minute wait for a table outside. It actually was just a few minutes. It was quite busy but service was nice. Menu, not big but enough to keep it simple. Water was brought out right when we got seated. Patio gives off garden vibes with planters and plants surrounding the area. Started off with a Bloody Mary, why not. They do have a good list of cocktails and drinks. Simple with the garnish of olives but quite tasty. Food wise, we both got a sandwich. The turkey clubs which came with homemade chips. And the fried chicken sandwich with fries. Both were quite tasty. Sandwiches were quite filling as well as the sides that accompanied them. Also an extra sides of fries is always a good idea. Service was great. Patio seating is beautiful and perfect for an afternoon out. Menu, decent with what they offered. Inside is beautiful if you prefer. Overall, the experience was great. Our waitress was amazing. Plenty of parking.

    GREEN GODDESS SALAD

I went with some friends. This location is really cute inside and outside. I got the green goddess salad which I really enjoyed. The dressing was so yummy. We also shared the charred levain and Brussel sprouts, both really good. The levain was crusty on the outside and pillowy on the inside. The butter on top was divine. And the Brussel sprouts were perfectly crispy. It's a really good/easy lunch or dinner spot in Calabasas. Our server was really friendly.

This is a new restaurant in the Calabasas Commons shopping area. The vibe is trendy and elegant while at the same time being artistic and kind of avant-garde with all the artwork all around. It's got a slightly surreal vibe with the silver curtains too. It's cute and cozy and definitely unique, really a lovely little space for a date night or classy dinner. The menu is diverse and the food was super fresh and delicious. The pasta was excellent and the flavors really worked. We got a few side dishes like brussel sprouts and fries and salad and everything was equally great across the board. I would have given five stars but it really puts a sour note that there is an extra amount to pay the employees "Happy and Healthy surcharge" on the bill that you have to ask to be removed if you don't want the extra % added to your check. This is a classy place but not a very classy move to have the people who are dining at the restaurant pay for the employee's health benefits. I know customers can ask to have this fee removed but most of my party did not notice the message on the bottom of the first page of the menu that indicated this and I had to point it out.

    PAUL'S "BIG BOY" BREAKFAST
    Noesh H.

Great new brunch spot in The Commons! The ambiance is super retro and diner like. Our server was great and always checking in on us. Food wise 4/5. It was a bit too oily for me. They use lots of butter as well. Nonetheless, we still ate it. Recommendations: Tuna melt Paul's "Big boy" Breakfast The OJ (very fresh) Overall, we had a great experience and would potentially be back.

    BURNT Kouign-amann
    Maria Q.

2 stars for the burnt Kouign-amann, served to me on a busy Saturday. Is anyone doing QC on these baked goods? Hypothetically you work there and you see someone pull an entire tray of these out of the oven. Do we serve them to customers? This was certainly a management misstep. 3 stars for the nice people behind the bar who took my grab and go pastry order. They were busy, but did what they could. 4 stars for the ambience this is a really cute place. Hindsight being what it is, I probably should have embraced my inner Karen and rejected the burnt Kouign-amann and either asked for a different one, or something else instead.

    SUPERBA GRAIN BOWL

This place was overall pretty good but definitely some weird things to note! MAIN thing to note the charged us a "happy and healthy" surcharge for no reason, when we asked what it was, the server said it goes to the managements health insurance and he could remove it. Very odd and have never experienced this auto charge at a restaurant before? food: i got a bowl and it was delicious, i added roasted chicken and it came cold and refrigerated which was weird with the warm rice especially due to the fact that it was on the menu as "roasted chicken" Service: service was alright, i asked if the cookie had nuts in it and they said no, and then it came with nuts and i pointed it out and he was like idk?? he let us return it though ambiance: great ambiance, beautiful furniture and great vibes!

    BREAKFAST BURRITO
    Rostam Z.

Superba surprised me in the best way possible! I stopped by with my family for brunch and everything was amazing. The service, the food, the ambiance, they have it dialed. Being from Calabasas, I've seen tons of places in the Commons come and go. I'm really hoping this is one of the ones that stays! Highly recommend!!

I thought the size of the dishes were small and the price on the expensive side. The duck confit fries were good but skimpy on the duck - don't bother with this dish because it's all fries and green garnish. The cacio e pepe was not a hit - go to a Italian resturant for this item. I also did not like the eggplant starter with pita bread - not appetizing and the portion was very small. The salmon was presented beautifully and was good. The truffle burger was good as well and the kale salad was fresh. We ordered drinks and they were good. Desserts were good, again on the small side but no complaints in terms of taste for the ube cheesecake, rose panna cotta, and creme brulee. Overall, for a bill that's over $300 with a 20% tip, for a party of 3, we usually are stuffed and have food to go. At this place, we barley could share an entree or dessert cause the portion sizes were so tiny. Every dish was presented artistically and the place is rose themed throughout so it lives up to its name. It's been here for 3 years so I hope it continues to do well, just not my cup of tea.

Star of the Night: Without a doubt, the focaccia was the best I've ever had. Perfectly fluffy, flavorful, and truly next-level. The pizza butter was a nice touch, though not as memorable as the bread itself. Appetizers: * Caesar Salad: I wasn't a fan of the presentation with the large anchovies on top. I don't mind anchovies in the dressing, but having them laid out on the salad wasn't appetizing. * Tempura Mushrooms: Great flavor, but they were overly fried, making them a bit too hard and masking the mushroom itself. The sauce that came with them was delicious, but there wasn't enough of it to balance out the crispiness. * Grilled Shrimp: Unfortunately, this one missed the mark. The plating was very plain compared to the other dishes, and the flavors just didn't come through. It felt like the dish could use a serious upgrade. * Hamachi Crudo: This was a highlight! The passion fruit purée paired beautifully with the fish, though the extra oil on the plate caused separation and made it hard for the sauce to stick. A small tweak here would make it perfect. Entrees: This is where the meal lost momentum. After the apps, it took about 30-45 minutes for the mains to arrive, which felt unnecessarily long since the full order had been placed upfront. By the time they arrived, the dishes themselves didn't really deliver. * Scallop Curry: Decent flavor, but the scallops could have used a much better sear to really shine. Something about the plate felt a little off-balance. * Pappardelle with Short Rib Ragu: The pasta noodles were well-made, but the short rib lacked depth of flavor and tenderness. It seemed undercooked for what should have been a slow-braised, melt-in-your-mouth kind of meat. Overall, the dish was bland and uninspired. Drinks & Dessert: I skipped the cocktails because none really stood out, but the glass of wine I ordered was excellent. We also passed on dessert after waiting so long for the entrees. Final Thoughts: The restaurant has a lot of potential, the ambiance is beautiful, the focaccia is unforgettable, and the service (thanks to Blake) was wonderful. But the rest of the menu felt inconsistent, with several dishes needing more attention to detail in both flavor and presentation. I'm glad I finally tried it, but for me, the focaccia and service were the true highlights of the night.

This was my first time visiting the restaurant and it was a hit! Very nice welcome and delicious food. I'm pretty sure we ate EVERYTHING. I'm looking forward to coming again.

I wanted to make a reservation but was not able to, and when I tried phoning the restaurant, no one answered the call and the recording stated that voicemail was not set up. I did send a message through their website and Sonia was super helpful getting back to me directly via email and she set up the reservation. When we arrived, there was a table reserved for us. Everyone that we encountered at the restaurant offered great customer service. I thought the service was a 5+. Attentive and kind service, which I love. The food itself was only just okay. In comparison to other local delis, I would rank it a 4. We visited the restaurant at lunchtime and it was packed and very loud. When I was on the Lovi's official website (www.lovisdeli.com), there was an offer to join their VIP program, which I did. It offers points for each dollar spent to redeem for discounts. Well...NO ONE in the restaurant was aware of the program, even a manager that has been there from the start, so I thought it was really odd! I have joined these programs at many restaurants and never had one not know about the program offered on their website. As such, no rewards earned! Until we paid with a credit card, we didn't realize there was an extra 3% fee that would be charged. Had we known, we'd have paid with cash. Being that the VIP program is advertised, but not known, and using a credit card incurs an extra fee, I have to lower my overall rating.
