I stopped by Michael's after lunch. It's been a long time since I've shopped here. They had some Christmas stuff left, on clearance. They did have Valentines items. They had heart shaped silicon molds for making cupcakes, stickers, gift bags and decor. They also had valentine hair accessories. I found a cute hair clip that I wanted to purchase. All the valentines items were 40% off, which was a great deal. There was a small section of St. Patrick's Day items, as well. At the checkout you have the option for self checkout or checkout with an employee. There was a customer being helped at a register and two were checking out at the self checkout. An employee directed me to an available self checkout which worked out great. I was in and out of there within 15 minutes total. I really love that they offer self checkout. I remember in the past when you'd have to wait in a crazy long line with only two registers open. The self checkout eliminates this long wait. This review is specifically for their custom framing department. My husband and I got married in New Orleans and purchased a print by a local artist during our wedding weekend. I finally got around to framing it and went to the Michaels location off Coleman. I was thinking that I could get a frame off their shelves, but I quickly realized that the poster had uncommon dimensions. I had no choice but to get a custom frame for it. I was assisted by a young gentleman, who was very friendly and helpful. I'm the worst when it comes to making decisions. I have to analyze every little thing, and then I get stuck in analysis paralysis. The associate was so patient with me, and he didn't rush me through the process. I also feel like he didn't limit me on variations of frame colors and matboard. He brought out everything to ensure that I had considered all my options. I relied heavily on his guidance and settled on an elegant thin silver frame with a blue mat. I called Michael's a week after the expected due date and was informed that it would be ready the following day. I was glad to see that the gentleman who helped me with my custom frame was the same person checking out my product. He carefully laid the framed print out, and I was stunned by how amazingly cohesive the frame and matting looked with the overall print. It was honestly perfect. This was my first custom frame job EVER - not just from Michael's. Just your typical Michaels arts supply store... but throw in some nice, welcoming customer service. I came here specifically for some satin ribbon and was feeling extremely hopeless because I had already visited 2 other Michaels' locations previously without success. I browsed the ribbon aisle back and forth, forth and back. Still I could not located the color type and size that I was in need of. I came across a staff member and asked if there was anything available in the stockroom. As usual, I was given the response of everything already being placed on the sales floor. Just as the gentleman was beginning to walk away, he came back around and attempted to do a quick run through of the aisle. He punched a few buttons and scanned a few barcodes, eventually letting me know that the satin ribbon I wanted in the 1inch size is not carried in their store. Thanks to this man's extra efforts and patience, he made all of my fruitless attempts make sense. There was a reason as to why I kept going to these stores and have walked away empty handed. 5/5 stars. This Michaels is so lucky to have such a helpful employee. IMHO I came here specifically to buy some picture hanging tools and to find some frames to showcase some painted fabric squares that I had been gifted from a local Maui artist. I had a hard time deciding which frames were best to highlight and protect the artwork. I walked over to the framing department and asked for advice from Richard. He kindly showed me that my choice would work, and he even opened up the frame to show me how to do it when I got home. He was very encouraging which boosted my confidence immensely! Thank you, Richard! Chris rang me up at the register and was very helpful when I asked for extra wrapping protection for the frames so that they wouldn't scratch each other. This is my go-to Michaels, always has what I am looking for and there's always a coupon I can use. I bit frustrating that they took out their price checkers because some items are mislabeled and the surprise at the register isnt fun. However there really isn't another store that I can get more of the craft items I need so I continue to come back. Parking isn't an issue for the most part but it's the Coleman shopping center so if you pick the wrong day and time, it may be a struggle. read more

This is the closest Michaels to me, and even though I'm not a very crafty person it's good to have for the occasional time where I decide to actually do something crafty. They have a good variety of everything. My only complaint is that the prices are kind of high. I found a lot of dupes on Amazon. It's nice that they have stuff that everybody can do like all ages. I love the self checkout option. Parking in this plaza has never really been too hard for me either so it's not a headache to come here. read more

This is the worst Michaels location I've been to. All their alcohol markers are locked so you need to get an associate to unlock it for you to even just test one. They have a help button in the aisle but no one shows up even if you wait over 5 minutes. The first time I was trying one brand the employee in the same aisle quickly walked away before I could ask for help. I pressed the button and no one came so I had to chase down that employee then she had to wait for me to finish trying multiple to lock it again after I was done. After I continued looking at more locked products, I pressed it two separate times to get the product and no one came so I left without buying what I wanted to get. read more

Do not go to this location, the service is horrible. Went there two days in a row for a package their employee told me would be there the day before. So I called multiple times like he told me to only for them to not answer & have an attitude for being frustrated i had to come back a second time with no package. Never will I ever come to this location again. I was looking to get a quote on a custom frame for a new painting. An older man who was working behind the counter came out and seemed unhappy that he had to interact with me. It befuddles me that a person working in the FRAMING department was clueless to answer even the simplest of questions. I told him I wanted a black ornate frame, and I could see one right on the wall, but even my pointing straight to it he could not figure out what I was pointing to ...duuuuuhhh. Okay. I then asked just for a rough estimate for what I wanted done and his obnoxious answer was custom framing is expensive, your looking at $500 at least. Okay....and that's based on what? I asked him to itemize and he acted like he could not be bothered. This rude obnoxious and bitchy man should NOT be working in any capacity with customers. He has zero skills or empathy. He is a flat out jerk. I will never return to this Michaels because of him. After his 5th bitchy remark I said, no thanks, I don't need anything from you, and walked out. This is a huge Michaels and it's fully stocked too. I went in here to look for a tape measure and was surprised to see how big this Michaels is. Everything is also neatly stocked and there's a cart when you need it Service was ok. They have someone near check out to see if you want to self pay or wait for a cashier. I love buying crafts from Michaels and stopped by since I was in the shopping center.   I walked in and a staff welcomed us in. I believe he was also counting how many customers were coming in to limit capacity of customers. I found cookie cutter I wanted and several other baking items. I also found some cool crochet items. My kiddo found several items of interest. We grabbed all our items and the cashier efficiently took care of our transactions. I recommend checking the website as they always offer coupons. Our shopping experience was great. There's markers to keep 6 feet apart in line. The store is clean, organized, and the aisles are clear of items on the floor. I'm a bit disappointed with this place. It's not amazing, and I often have to go somewhere else to find what I want. The crochet section was almost empty. There were no hooks, except for a set that cost 99$. I like Michale's as a brand, and I think their rewards program is cool. It's been a while since I've been to this location, but it felt a bit low on stock of most things. I'm not sure if this had anything to do with the new holiday, new fixtures, or what - but it felt like there wasn't much to see or choose from aside from the Christmas selection. I ended up coming here and I felt like the friendliness and availability of staff was much lower than previous experiences - including those at other locations as well. I reached out to a staff member for help and she helped, but it felt like the friendliness, interest in helping, and general success in helping fell pretty short. I've been to Michael's where in the event that a product wasn't available or was missing, I'd be asked what project I was working on and guided to another product/solution to ensure I could complete it. However, this visit felt almost like the best I could get was available - and that wasn't saying too much. I do appreciate the girl for at least showing me another possible location, because the store was really empty of things, but I felt like a bit of a bother at the same time. I think given Michael's is taking a self checkout approach, most staff members don't feel engaged to help out or less obligated to do so. The small talk at the cash register is instead replaced with silence as you scan and bag your own products. "Did you find what you were looking for?" Is now gone, and in a post pandemic world, less social interaction feels louder than ever. I haven't been to other locations yet to notice the new change, but it does feel like a sad change and end to an era. As someone who shops and does self check out at the grocery store, the craft store always felt like a nice and stress free place to connect with artists and get advice about projects too, but sadly that's been replaced. Hopefully the stores excitement and abundance in eye catching decor return again, because a relatively low product store with no cashiers and limited interaction felt really sad. I don't even remember if music was playing? But it was midday so there should have at least been some sound. After my experience today, I'm no longer going to purchase from this location or any Michaels ever again. I had an online order waiting to be picked up and I spoke to a friendly female employee who was helping the people in front of me. I saw my order but didn't take it because I didn't know their policy, so I waited. A male employee approached me to ask what I was doing and I told him that I had an online order waiting to be picked up and that I was waiting to be helped. After the female employee gave me my order, I noticed that an item was missing. The male employee told me to leave. He said that I wouldn't be charged for it and to leave the store. I was never given the order slip showing what should have been in my package. I don't know if I'll be refunded. I have no proof that the item wasn't given to me. I was just told to leave. Also, the way that the pickup orders are given to people, anyone could say a name and steal someone's items. No one asked to see my ID or a confirmation from Michaels. read more

I come to this store at least twice a week! Always has pretty much everything I need. Easy to navigate through and today Naomi helped me check out. She was genuine and kind and I just thought I'd write this after having a good interaction with her and a easy breezy shopping trip! Thank you guys Update! I went today to find a sweater that I saw was instock at the Coleman store online! When I went in I couldn't find it. Sofia dropped what she was doing to help me find it! She went way out of her way to help me (pulled out a ladder and went thru their invand I super appreciated it! :) thank you for doing the most! :) Another update! Today October 25th I drove by around maybe 3 pm and I saw the new manager (I think that's who he is) standing outside on the phone. Next thing I know four cop cars pull up right in front. I feel SO bad for this manager guy because EVERYTIME I go in (which is multiple times a week) I see him dealing with sketchy theives. I have to say he handles them very well. I've personally seen him walk four people out and tell them to keep out. He handles things professionally and really cares about his store you can tell! This store has the worst customer service I've ever experienced in my life! It was my first time in any Michael's store, so I was unfamiliar with all the stuff they have for sale, let alone where I would find it in such a huge store. So, after looking around on my own for at least 30 minutes, I wanted to find someone to help me. So, I went up to where the registers are, only to find out that they have ZERO cashiers. I saw 1 employee upfront who was filling up balloons. I told her I would like some help to find the particular thing I went in there for in the first place. She looked at me as if she had never heard a request for help before. I then repeated myself more loudly & she pointed to some worker way down the aisle. (You have to realize these stores are HUGE!) So, I walked towards that lady, told her what I was looking for, & was hopeful that I/we/she should be able to find it in such a large arts & crafts store. Meanwhile I was using my cane to help me with all this walking around. At first I don't think she knew what I was talking about (a backing board for a finished needlepoint piece). Then in a sort of brush me off kind of way, she said that should be on aisle such & such, pointing way down the main aisle. At that same time she saw another male employee walking in our direction & passed me off to him. Was she too busy to help me herself? I told this guy again what I was looking for (which I don't think he had any idea what it was, even though they sell needlepoint kits in the store!) He took me on a long walk around most of the left side of the store, up & down several side aisles until we finally landed in a spot that had, wait for it, foamcore boards. I repeatedly thanked him for showing me around most of the store & let him know that I knew he really didn't want to do it, to which he said nothing. He had zero expression on his face, looked like he probably really didn't want to even be working there. I was so disappointed by my experience there I walked out without buying anything! It seems lacking of employees because the other day I did an online order, you have to go all the way to the back of the store. There's a small sign on the counter that says online order. There was already a lady waiting and she turns to me, "There's no one here." Then, she goes to ring the bell twice. Still waiting...until someone decides to go to the front of the store and ask for help for the back of the store. Boy framing is expensive. The guys in the frame department were actually really nice, but three custom frames cost me about $1200! I tried to do anything to get the price down such as sign up for wards card. Look for coupons online. use my husband's senior discount, etc., but none of these would help with the cost of the "custom framing". They have exclusions for this service, and so it is exorbitantly expensive. I ended up leaving my prints there to be framed, but I'm not happy about the price I'm having to pay, I will have to look around for another place next time. read more

I went in to get their Christmas trees saw the cutest white tree and sadly there wasn't any more in stock I had asked Isaac one of the kind employees if I could take the display (hate I was one of those people) and he was so kind and had a smile on his face whole time while helping me.
