I needed one final gift this holiday season and found myself at Cottage Crafts for the first time. This is like a year-round craft show laid out like a small antique mall with different sellers having their own corners of the shop. I was able to find many options for knitted hats and scarves to choose from, and everything was priced very reasonably and much more affordable than I expected (averaging about $11 for a handmade hat.) I did see on the receipt that sales are final, so keep that in mind. I will definitely be back for gifts in the future! read more

I needed a little tassel to replace the one this guest towel came with but was mangled in the laundry. I decided it now needed to be removable. The ladies at Cottage Craft generously helped me put a smaller hook on the tassel and added a loop so I could sew it onto the towel. Now it'll come off before it gets laundered. Based on the great reviews I decided to check out Cottage Crafts Boutique today and I was happy I did. So many darling items. I was a bit overwhelmed with all of the selections. They have an extensive jewelry collection. I purchased quite a bit of rubber stamps, embellishments and gifts. The staff provided excellent customer service. My purchases would have easily cost me over $100 anywhere else, the prices here are a bargain. I will definitely be going back to this gem again. What a surprisingly delightful shop hidden in plain sight, located in the Cambrian shopping center off of Union. I decided to pop into this shop, after having driven by it a number of times. I was overwhelmed by the size of the store- quite large with treasures all over the place. I had no particular inclination to shop and with a half hour to closing time I had no expectations. Surprisingly enough, damage can be done in only half an hour! Especially if spent meandering the many aisles of this local spot. With over 100 vendors from all over the United States, there is much to see... And buy...Especially given that the holidays are around the corner. Some sell jewelry, soaps, crocheted goods, candles, arts and craft supplies, rubber stamps, greeting cards, teas, stuffed animals, candy, and seasonal things (ornaments, decorations... so many great stocking stuffer ideas).The items are reasonably priced. Definitely worth a visit! I couldn't resist the blackberry cobbler jarred jam, bags, and soap. I will be back! read more

Cottage Crafts Boutique is basically like an art and wine festival, all neatly stuffed inside a store. If you love walking along looking through all the booths at a fair, you will love this place. Lots of cute homemade and handcrafted items. Some prices better than others, but overall nothing is too crazy in price, lots of decent deals. Now, here is the thing, and I hate to really even mention it, but it's true. This place has been around for years and years. I would shop here as far back as the early 90's! And let me tell you, back then the level of art and truly amazing and unique items was outstanding. Sadly, these last few years I have been there, I noticed, how can I put this politely? Well, a bit more amateur hour stuff if you catch my drift. Just not the high quality of items I seem to remember from way back. Not sure why? What a gem! It's so nice to see that there are still crafters & makers out there creating all kinds of fun things. The store is set up nicely to just wander and peruse...I found all kinds of gifts! I have been in several times and it seems they prepare for every season, every holiday, so I can find something anytime I pop in. August 2007: Bumped up to 3 stars. Cottage Crafts Boutique is a small store filled with home made crafting items. I went in here to look for vintage clothes (there are none) and wandered around. The majority of the store is divided up into sections which feature different crafting items. There are a large amount of home made cards (normal prices); brass stencils (high prices, some unusual selections), home made jams, jellies, and clothing items. Many country-style items for the home. There are a few vintage crafting items, but I found the majority of the items to be unusally high priced. Also, there are some non-cutsy items for men, like home made wood toys (not for children, I believe) and some great fantasy sculptures of dragons and robots out of various metal parts, which are priced moderately. The rubber stamping section is now only a few close out items and is definately not worth the trip. If you are looking for an unusual gift, this is a nice place to go to support local crafts people, and maybe pick up an unusual card, candle or craft item. However, if you want the latest trendy item, skip this place and go to the mall. If you are a home crafter, they have a can't-beat-it offering to sell your items: $10 processing fee + 25% of the purchase price, to be paid at the end of each month. All submissions are juried, and I believe you price your own items. As a former professional crafter, this is the lowest and most reasonable offer I have ever seen and I would highly recommend it as a way to test the marketplace. Be sure to wander around before submitting your artwork to see what is acceptable. I would love to see some leatherwork in this store, as I didn't see any but I think a person could sell leather baby booties (which I used to make) or stamped leatherwork purses here. Allow an extra 10 minutes to check out; the ladies at the counter are very sweet but slow to ring you up. AUGUST 2007 I went back in the shop. They have improved the displays and rotated some of the artists around to include some more professional items (jewelry, quilts, etc). Things look much better, and the artists are better too. Prices are still a great deal, and this store is recommended for something nice and homemade as a gift. Bumped up to 3 stars. read more

This place is a lot of fun - I come here from time to time...sometimes for something in particular and sometimes just to browse. The prices are right and the selection changes so I'm always in for a surprise. Wendy, Robin and Tam are fun and know this store inside and out. If you are into crafting and have time on your hands this store will inspire you and give you fantastic ideas. If you are into crafting but have limited time (me!) you can buy things here to pass off as your own (shhh...don't tell) or just enjoy what other people have created. For those of you who aren't crafty but love to shop, buy or just be jealous of those more creative (and I mean that in the nicest way possible) you might enjoy stopping by. Not everything here is always to my taste, but that just means that there is truly something here for everyone. I think that the jewelry in front is especially cute and the quilts are beautiful. This is the place to go for the home-made feel for baby showers especially. Also if your kids are into doll clothing you have hit the jackpot! Bought a very nice scented coil pad (smelled like cinnimon) for a co-worker.They always have lots of holiday inspired items too! Staff is friendly (and they dont pester you when you shop - I like that) it is true some of the decor is country theme, but look around you just might find something you like if you're not all about the country theme -I still go back and find something for someone there everytime I shop :). read more

And I love that they have the craft supplies area and that they brought back their rubber stamps. I have not shopped there lately, and that is only because I have taken a new job and I also volunteer at the VA and that takes up quite a lot of my time......but because I recently received an email regarding Cottage Crafts Fall Crafts Fall '16 Sidewalk Sale, it made me very nostalgic for Cottage Crafts and I thought it was high-time that I offer my recommendations for this amazing boutique!!! Shopping at Cottage Crafts is like going back in time when life was a little less complicated. It's very welcoming and old fashioned and I mean that in the best way possible! When you first enter the store, I recommend starting on the left side and roaming the isles slowly to take in the sights of all of the goodies. Then I recommend a 2nd walk around, because trust me, you end up missing some of the items on the 1st tour! For me, it was always a stress reliever to walk the isles looking for items..... it reminds me of the good ol'days when life wasn't so hurry-hurry. It's becoming rare to find hand-made treasures anymore.....it's almost impossible to find many of those venues in the Silicon Valley, so I highly recommend Cottage Crafts for that experience. I shopped this wonderful store many years ago in the 1990's under the previous owners, then I ended up having my own booth selling my hand-crafted items and I loved it! Soon after I started, new owners George & Tami purchased the shop and it got even better. George & Tami are so fun to work for! They are a hoot!!! (and I mean that is a good way!) :) George & Tami sincerely care about customer relations and offering the best service & items possible. And if you are a Crafter at Cottage Crafts, that same kindness is extended to you too. I had a booth for almost 10 years at Cottage Crafts and sadly I had to pull out due to medical issues with my eyes....(it's hard to sew & paint when your vision is impaired.) Now that I had the necessary surgeries and my eyesight is GOOD again (thank God), I dream about returning to Cottage Crafts and having my own booth again! Since then I have become involved with other activities, so that's not an option for me now, but hopefully in the future I will again have a booth. Not only do I miss the crafting and selling, I also miss the fun time spent with the wonderful owners & cashiers & fellow crafters! I always LOVED the Supplies Booth in the back of the store...that is like treasure-hunting! Also there are a few booths with vintage items....again, more treasure hunting! Then there are the hand-made, hand-sewn & hand-painted goodies! These items that you cannot find in the Retail Stores, because these are one-of-a-kind and handmade with love in the USA! Those are the gifts I prefer to give my family & friends! During the various holidays of the year, especially Christmas, they have a huge assortment of gifts and hand-made festive decorations for your home.....I always love that! I visited CCB a few weeks ago hunting for a Treasure Chest for a friend. The sales clerk, Robin, said that she didn't think that they had what I was looking for, but took the time to walk me around the boutique in search of the elusive chest. In doing so I saw many items that will make perfect Holiday Gifts (since I am trying to shop and buy goods made by local artists). I will go back before Christmas! Super cute place!! They let independent jewelers sell their homemade/one of a kind items here. I love coming here for their tea and baked goods. I think it is a bit pricey, for tea!, that I can get more in a package from Whole Foods, but I come here for the vibe and the excellent customer service. It is really lovely during Christmas because they have their baked goods, and tea/coffee/hot cocoa tasting, I think that is once or twice a month, I did get to experience the hot coca tasting and it was fun and different! This place is the mecca of handmade lovelies and a crafter's dream. I've been there just a few times, and am amazed at how many awesome things ther are under one roof. The prices on most of the items are such a steal that it could be criminal, even lower than prices I've seen at craft fairs. The items are made and priced by individual local artists so there is not as much markup as there would be in any other retail establishment. My favorites are the knitted items and handmade jewelry, and they have baked goods that I would like to try as well. They have things for all age groups it seems! The staff is so friendly and it seems that many of the customers have been coming here for years -- its like a family. This store is so amazing and I'm so glad that I found it. I have been to this boutique numerous times and always enjoy taking my time to browse. I did find a few things while there my last visit. The employees told me that they wished they didn't have to charge the new 10 cent fee for shopping bags. They said they charge so it is on the receipt but give the dime back to the customer. Mixed feelings about this store. I love to come here for unique hand crafted gifts but the last 3 or 4 times I was there the employees were busy gossiping and bad mouthing people who had booths. It really was unprofessional and made me uncomfortable enough that I left without purchasing anything. It felt very high-schoolish. I have a number of friends who feel the same way. This is a craft store that has homemade crafts. Fun to wander through and see if there is anything that might be fun or unusual to buy. The store changes when new crafters come in and others leave. Always worth a visit. There used to be a lot of this kind of store around but this is the only one left of all the ones I used to visit. My mother bought me a wooden "Rudolph the red nose reindeer" from this store about 8 - 10 years ago. It is about waist high, but not too big and not a realistic reindeer. It's really cute and has a working red light bulb for his nose. So different and so fun to put out every Christmas. I haven't seen anything like my Rudolph since I got mine. You just never know what will be there. I hope they can hang in there. read more

This store is amazing. I went there with my husband not because we were looking for it, but because we were driving out and about. When I entered the store I fell in love with it. We spend more than one hour walking up and down those isles full of lovely and beautiful goodies: from jams to doll clothes, from soaps to several types of jewelry, etc. Definitely a place to go when you have to buy a birthday gift, or we would like to give a gift to your friend or a thenk you to someone who helped you with something. Cottage Crafts Boutique is the place to go when you need a one-of-a-kind gift that is not just handmade, but really crafted. You can find beautiful crocheted/knitted baby blankets and clothing. For a quick holiday table setting, you can buy a quilted table runner, placemats and napkins that are carefully made and at an unbeatable price. My favorite vendors are the painters. I have a great contemporary original painting of a witch with a bird on her shoulder whispering, "Tell me your secret." I put it out every October and it creates a conversation whenever guests come over. You can buy ornaments, wall hangings, and decorative table items created by some of the most talented painters in the area. One booth features counted-cross stitch that is finely done and includes beadwork for extra sparkle. The shop also features a tea corner, a rubber stamp and pre-owned craft goods section, jewelry, homemade jellies and jams, and some vintage collectibles. While many craft stores have disappeared or now specialize in re-sale items, this shop celebrates the true art of crafting by talented women.
