Hallmark at the mall was having a big Christmas sale with 70% off. That's my kind of sale. So of course, I went in to check it out. They still had quite a selection of decorations, gift wrap, soft blankets, Christmas cards and ornaments. I found some gift wrap for a great price and a few Christmas gift bags and bows. I headed to the check out. There was one customer ahead of me. Another employee saw me waiting and offered to check me out at the other register. They have excellent customer service here. This location is a bit smaller than the other hallmark store, a few miles away, but they have everything you would need. I always enjoy coming in here to get birthday cards or gift ideas. read more

Hallmark in the Mall. The Christmas tradition. I actually haven't been to this location before, but we are at this mall for whatever reason and decided to come. They had a lot and a variety of Christmas products. If you like to have Christmas stuff around your house, then this is a great place to get them. Overall, a nice little store. read more

The workers here are nice and friendly. They need a better system to do the ornaments wish list because they didn't receive my wife online wish list she put in. In July we went to the store for them to write down what ornaments my wife wanted to order. A couple of months later my wife and I came back to see if they still have our order written down and they said they don't have the paper. They must of lost it. That's very unprofessional of them. If Eastridge Mall location didn't close then we would have still get our ornaments wish list there because it's closer to home. read more

I'm so sickened by my experience here today. The woman was clearly racist toward my Indian parents. I was so flustered that I didn't get her name, but she is a Caucasian woman with salt and pepper straight, shoulder length hair. My parents are Indian, although they have been in this country for 48 years, and in England for several years before they moved here (my dad was completing his PhD at a prestigious university). She repeatedly told us that deals that were clearly posted around the store didn't apply to us. I persevered, and when she rang them up, no surprise -- they rang up at the sale prices listed. She was extremely rude to me when I inquired very politely about why the listed sales didn't apply. I let her know that I was writing a Yelp review as we left. Meanwhile, she seemed to be pouring it on thick with every Caucasian customer who came through. It is unacceptable to treat people this way, especially seniors at a Hallmark store! read more

Just visited again and it was nice. The ornaments look spectacular. For this to get them you need to shop a head to avoid lines and get them. Some of these may bo last, believe me. I've tried many years. s and everyone has been a memory itself. Again I love the fact that Hallmark is conveniently located in this location. I was in the store and there was two ladies working there and they're very delightful both of them were very helpful and very nice and actually took time out to help me find something. I think this is the only reason I would come back here and besides the fact that I do love Hallmark. read more

I was here recently with my grandmother and son. We were shopping for Mother's Day cards. I was surprised to see they had many of the sought after Hallmark Christmas ornaments marked down to 50% - these I purchased around Christmas December 2013 at full price at another Hallmark location. I did score some Peanuts Christmas and one Valentine's Day ornament for Ian - these were full price, totaling a little over $30 for three ornaments. Be sure to sign up for a Hallmark rewards card- they send you coupons in the mail and via email. Customer service is friendly at this location and it's a convenient stop if you're already shopping in Westfield Oakridge Mall. Unfortunate customer service at this store. Not by the service staff at the front counter but by the owner?/manager? I purchased a cute little "Bagalini" brand purse (see photo). After I was rung up, I realized that my items seemed to be much more than I estimated. I checked the purse price and had been charged $99.00. I went back to the display that carried 4 other bags in exactly the same style as my bag, but in different colors -along with several other styles. ALL the bags in my style were sale marked with a little orange sticker price tag of $69- I returned to the register hoping to quickly adjust the price. The sales lady checked with the owner or manager who informed me that "only certain colors were on sale" In the spirit of being a fair customer, if there was a sign that stated "some colors on sale" then okay, I'm fairly warned. Since there was no such sign I feel that the price should have been honored absolutely. The owner ? did offer me 20% off, but I don't feel that this was a fair offer since that was still $10.00 more than what was the correct price. Based on this experience and the fact that the store was rather cramped, messy, and disorganized I will be sure to take my business to a Hallmark owned by someone else. read more

My name is Lynn I am from Oregon. I was told to go to this Hallmark in San Jose Oakridge Mall, little did I know customer service was horrible.. there's an old lady about my age with white silver's hair and she carries a cane throughout the store !! She looks like she's in Missouri and complained to me about the A/C in store which was not working. apparently she was having a very bad day and she said that her boss did not get her no food. So she had to use her cane to go and get food from the food court? How do I need this? Because she told me. I see her all the time with food in her hand seems like she goes to the court where the food is available, if she is able to get food, why did she not help me when I was in the store instead she had this Asian lady who is infatuated with stuffy animals, no no English, force me to buy a stuffy animal and I did not want it. I needed help with teacups. Finally, lady that help to me was very young but I was not able to get her name because she told me she forgot her apron. However, she was very helpful she packaged all my stuff and I was ready to leave. At this point, I had noticed that lady with the silver hair and the cane in hand, was rolling her eyes she kept rolling her eyes over and over again. At this point I don't understand why? She looked at me as if I was dumb. This really bothered me because I really needed a gift she did not help me but I did see her training another Asian lady at the register who knew no English. Upon buying my item which one lady is very young I believe she said she was new at store. She helped me find my item and I was happy and even packaged it nicely with no complaints and was very nice. I would only go back because of her, too bad I don't remember her name. this particular lady with the cane did not want to package or help me out with making my product prettier the young girl that was working there that evening prepared my package I really wish I knew her name. Unfortunately, I found out, it wasn't just Rose at this store who thinks "Hallmark" should be associated with extreme rudeness. (See my earlier comment) After I gave up searching for replacement gifts to avoid purchasing from this Hallmark store, I returned anyway. I'd finally gotten my girls calmed down, but just couldn't find anything more fitting than what we'd already picked out. I kept telling myself, "Rose doesn't represent all of Hallmark, why would I boycott a store I love, just because of one employee?" So I foolishly returned. Much to my shock, I discovered it wasn't just one employee. Bianca had put away all of our items I placed on hold earlier when her manager caused my daughters to run away. When I asked why, she said, "we can't hold things for that long for you, just until you decide you want to come back" Which, aside from being grammatically incorrect, just doesn't make sense. It had been exactly 2 hours 23min., and my understanding is, that's the entire point of putting things on hold. I was only able to locate 6 of my items, the rest were gone. The current shift manager, "Chantelle" chimed in, "we can't hold items for you that long!" Then just stood there, not offering to help me, nor even attend to the line of customers. While I was trying to locate my missing items, I was still attempting to ask about the decanter. Chantelle, cut me off each time I tried to ask, talking over me, and still trying to "scold" me for their decision to put back all my items on hold. She literally never stopped long enough to even hear I was trying to ask a question about the merchandize. I tried for too long to find my itemsMy 13 year old daughter finally said to me, "Why are they being mean to you, when you're just trying to buy stuff here, and they keep trying to stop you? I don't know what kind of store this is, but please mom, let's just leave?!?" I really would have, if it wasn't late evening on 12/23, and I just desperately needed to get home to start wrapping and baking! What's sad is that there was a cashier who was the sweetest woman ever working under these tyrants! I didn't get her name, but my receipt had this on it, "AUTH# 234336" She went above and beyond expected customer service. She tried to help me find missing items and made suggestions for what I couldn't find from what I had on hold. This was while she kept quickly checking out customers in her line, while Chantelle just stood there. She tried to make small talk with my younger daughter, who was staring at the ground, trying to avoid eye contact, again while she kept checking out her line. She heard Chantelle cutting me off repeatedly, so when I was finally checking out, asked me twice if she could help me find something to go with the salt shakers. I told her it was ok, too late, etc. She offered to wrap the glass items, and when I tried to shrug it off, just quickly did it, saying they'd be safer. When she was done ringing me up, I realized I never had her scan my coupon. As I was telling her to forget it, she refunded and re-rung my entire purchase with the coupon within a minute, insisting it was no problem. This woman embodied everything I associate with the Hallmark image and should be a manager or at least a hiring manager, because she understands customer service. People like her should be running stores like Hallmark, it'd be more profitable for the company and rewarding to the customers. I can't evaluate who was ruder, Chantelle or Rose. Unfortunately, after dealing with Chantelle, I was no longer able to dismiss Rose's demeanor as a fluke, or a one time bad day, etc. Seeing Bianca's response to putting back my items on hold, couldn't be ignored either. It was obvious to me, that if three employees from a store are displaying the opposite of customer service... there's a deeper issue at this location. How does a Hallmark end up with two managers who are on power trips, treat customers like it's a privilege to be in their store, and feel justified for being openly rude in front of a crowded store? Not only is this usually an indication of poor working conditions resulting in disgruntled employees, but also of a poor regional manager who's hiring inappropriate personality types for a clearly customer service related job. No matter how angry I am at my company, I'm not going to be rude and take it out on my customers... because I'm a nice person, so treat people kindly even when I'm miserable. I hope employee #234336 finds a better suited work environment, she deserves it! There's no way it's a coincidence... there's a huge attitude problem at this store. I will never shop here again. One quality employee can't make up for three unacceptable ones. I may avoid Hallmark all together. After a lifetime of associating it with everything good about holidays and family traditions... it now leaves a bad image in my mind. I had the worst experience here. Used to love this store because of the great selection of cards and gift wrap. Made a special trip here on Monday and loaded up on gift wrap, ribbons, bags and cards. Went to the checkout and proceeded to stand there, with my arms full as the clerk stood there and chatted with the customer she had just finished with, all the while, looking down while she was busy with some coupons. Never looked up to see me standing there or acknowledge me. Talking about her husband and how she was trying to get him to make to do lists on his phone, how stupid men are, etc, etc.. After almost 5 minutes , I said can I put these items down on the counter, as my hands were full and so she could realize I was waiting. She was SO snotty to me and said "Ma'am I'm finishing up with this customer!" The customer said " Oh we are just gossiping" I turned around and put my things away and left. I should have put them on the counter for HER to put away. She never even looked up from her coupons when I left. TERRIBLE customer service!!! I will never shop here again and will go to the Hallmark in the Mall from now on. read more
