So, one thing to note is that this is a gas station. You can come here you go to get gas and pop in to the convenient store for a cool or hot drink and a little nose if you're feeling hungry. So this Shell is expertly placed and always has lots of patrons at all times. I really did forget how much gas was per gallon but the prices were not bad. I remember being pleased. This is conveniently located along the busy street of Westheimer. It's just a small gasoline station with only 4 service pumps. They also have a convenience store that sells the usual stuff you see in 7-11. I don't know how customer service is in this station since I just went in, paid, and left. The guy didn't even get the chance to say anything. $3.29 for regular when i went here. Exxon is def way cheaper. read more

Been here before to replace the belt, then again for a failing water pump. Had a good experience the first time so I figured I'd bring my truck back. I dropped it off a little past midnight (he has a form for afterhours drop-offs and keys) and as soon as he took a look at the truck in the morning, he called me with a quote. It was below what I wrote on the form for "maximum allowed repairs", and what I wrote was a standard quote for a water pump replacement. He told me he'd have it back in the afternoon, and sure enough I was driving home in the truck that afternoon paying only $4 over quote (tax? no big - still well under the maximum I wrote!). He's cheaper than any mechanic I've ever been to, his work holds up, I don't get upsold, he communicates, and his turnaround is among the fastest - 5 stars. But I have a case for a 6th star: he threw in a coolant flush/fill ($$-$$$), had a screw from a tire removed and patched it ($), and even zip-tied a loose wheel well guard for me. I didn't even ask; he offered. He really went above-and-beyond this time, prompting me in turn to take the time to type this review. "Fair" and "honest" are common words used to describe a positive experience with a car mechanic and Mike is definitely both. Unlike most mechanics I've been to, however, Mike is also generous. When is the last time you've heard of a mechanic described as being generous? Bottom line: hope for a pleasant surprise or two, but definitely trust Mike with your repairs and expect to pay a great price for them. read more

Mike's Shell is an auto repair station, not a gas station. Mike is an honest guy and does not overcharge. Prices are average. only complaint I have is that because he's so busy, it sometimes takes longer to get your car done on more major repairs other than oil changes and minor things. read more

Myself and my family have known Michael for over twenty years back when his father and himself ran the Texaco at the corner of DAshford and Westheimer. Michael is a great guy and will NEVER try to sell you anything you don't need. His prices are the lowest in the area and he honors all his work. On occasion his mechanics may miss something but if you take it back to him he will make it right. Also he is just an all around great shop owner, the guys who do the oil changes see my car and pull mine right in and have me out in 15 minutes. I've been using Michael's Shell for years for all my cars work, not just oil changes as another user suggested. I've had great luck so far, Michael is very honest and pricing is fair. Sometimes it can take a little while though because they do stay very busy. I've used other mechanic shops in Houston and been ripped off more than my fair share, this hasn't happened hear so far and whatever I've brought the car in for is always fixed perfectly. This place is a joke. They 2 front tires on for me, new brakes and a wheel alignment. I paid 450 to have all this done for only a month later my tires are bold and my steering wheel to be incontrollable I brought it in in the beginning because I thought I had a cracked or bent from. I never been in an accident, so the little on says no it the tires and wheel alignment. I here today he tells me I didn't get the tires from them and refused to call the owner. When pulled up my bank statement showing the charges he quickly changed his story. Will never come here or recommend it to anyone, they take forever for simple work and they have no customer service. read more
