Let me start by saying, we live on the Southeast side of the city; doesn't matter, we will always take our cars to Max. He has always been honest and dependable. He is friendly and remembers me by name...it had been 3-4 years since I went because we had a new car. Anyway, the service has been excellent...once it's fixed, it's fixed...there's never been a need for "re-dos." He explains everything very well and has never treated me differently because I'm a woman. He speaks to me the same whether I'm alone or if my husband is with me. I will preface this review by stating that my Dad and I used to work on our own cars eons ago. Back then all you needed was a set of tools and a Chilton's guide to your make/model. Those days are long gone but fortunately, there ARE honest and reliable mechanics out there. I lucked into finding Max when I needed an inspection some 15 years ago and have been going to him exclusively ever since. It's rare to find an honest, reliable, and trustworthy mechanic who won't try to upsell you or pressure you into unnecessary repairs. A few years back I had to replace my vehicle and Max was invaluable in helping me avoid a BAD potential purchase and helped me narrow down my choices until I settled on my current vehicle. Max is amazing! I have been using his shop for 15+ years. As a single parent putting 3 boys through college their cars were not always the latest models. He is so honest and reliable. I remember getting a quote from Lexus that totaled over $3,000. I went to Max hoping to pay less. I showed him my estimate. He looked at my car and said the only thing wrong was a hose. He taped it together for no cost and told me to go buy a replacement hose. It went from $3,000 to $25.00. He is an honorable ethical man and the service is excellent with affordable prices. As of recent, our cars are all under warranty. But as soon as that expires, I will patronize Max! I just referred my sons girlfriend to Max and came across this site. It is hard finding a good place to change your oil. I hate the dealership because they make you wait hours to do something that takes 10 minutes (that's honda for you!).That's why I used to drive 22 miles to Katy to do it at Penzoil, where I used to go when I lived there. I am glad my brother introduced me to Lube and Sticker Max. It is not too far from my place. The owner is a sweetheart and my oil is changed in 10 minutes, in and out! I love it! My brother loves this place and all his mechanical work is done there. I recommend it if you dont want to be overcharged and want a good job done with your vehicle. I have always received the best services from Max both through phone and in-person. The 1 star reviews are from entitled people who want much more for the competitive price that Max provides. Occasionally, hiccups and delays happen but I wait patiently cause Max provides the best price for his services. Entitled idiots who post 1 star reviews take down such business who are not able to compete with big businesses. Go elsewhere and pay more if you want your exceptional service. Max is great at explaining what's wrong with your car and what the best course of action would be to fix it. He never tries to sell you what you don't need. I went into get my oil change and he just told me to come back in 6 months to check my alternator because the sound was kind of off. I also asked him to check my brakes and he told me I would be good for another 6 months-ish, depending on how much I drove. Other shops would have sold me a new set of pads and discs at ridiculous prices. Make an appointment. Max is a very popular man and on Saturdays, it will be impossible to have a walk-in. Sure, it can get a little messy inside but then don't wait inside. Take an uber and go home or get a friend to pick you up. There's a McDonald's nearby so you can eat something while you wait. This is an honest shop that actually cares about the cars and customers. You won't find better service anywhere else. read more

I am sure when I go in for bigger service needs at some point this reviewer will make this place a 5 star garage. I was only needing an inspection sticker for my new truck. The mechanic I had been taking my old truck to did not offer this service. So I took to Yelp and this place was close and highly recommended. It took all of 20 minutes to get the inspection. Max was the friendliest and nicest fella. I could have stayed and visited with him about my new truck for quite a while. It's not the cleanest waiting area. If you are looking for a nice lounge to wait in or free coffee or cable TV, this ain't your place. If you want fast, friendly, dependable mechanic service I am thinking this could become my new go to place. I liked my former mechanic and it was more convenient to my house. But I am not as comfortable knowing they are taking my vehicle for service and then farming it out to another garage for the actual repair. Searched for an oil change on Yelp and came here around 4:30 after work. Quick service and great prices. For once I don't feel like I've been lied to and cheated out of my money. While I was there another customer came in with more complex car issues and she seemed to be a happy customer. I highly recommend this place for your oil change needs. And bonus! My friend's have been taking their car to this location for quite awhile now. I've been looking to find a new mechanic since I returned to Houston. I was referred to Max and I am completely satisfied. They offer exceptional customer service. Max is really honest and does not over charge you. He assess the car's dilemma and discusses options for you. We were able to talk about options and what routes we could go with for my shocks and struts. In the end, he did a very good job. My previous mechanic overcharged me, ripped me off and did not replace the shocks and struts he claimed to have. Max also suggested that I return to the mechanic and ask for an itemized receipt as the work he promised to fulfill had not been taken care of. I've had my car for three weeks and have not had any problems. I'm glad my friend referred me here. I plan on returning again for any future problems. read more

Max is really everything I ever wanted in a mechanic. Just like other reviewers mention, he is a hard-working, honest guy, and seems to take genuine concern for his customers and their vehicles. Max gave me a detailed explanation of everything that needed to be repaired on my 4-runner, including taking me under the hood as well as under the car to actually show me where the problems were. I didn't feel like he was trying to blow me off, or go over my head with technical mumbo jumbo, like many other mechanics have. After he replaced the parts, he showed me the old parts--yeah, they needed replacing lol. As far as price goes, I paid MUCH less than what I had been quoted at other places...like $300 less. Incredibly fast and honest service. I came here thanks to Yelp reviews and I was not disappointed. When you first enter, you might think you made a mistake because it's not the prettiest waiting area. However, the service that I received was fast and friendly. I went to get my state inspection and oil change and it took about 20 minutes. I had my expired paper insurance but, the man was kind enough to accept a pdf email showing proof that my insurance was up to date. Will be coming back! read more

This place is fabulous!!!! Although I have never used this auto shop before, I chose it because of the good reviews. This business is indeed so good! I called and asked if an appointment was necessary for state appointment on October 27th. I was told to come around 2:30 p.m. I arrived 2:30 and the technician finished the inspection in about 10 minutes. He further suggested I not mail but go to HEB, Kroger or Randall's to get the sticker so that I can get the sticker immediately without waiting 2 weeks (remember it was 27th of the month) or go to the court to get it in the worst case. How kind and courteous he was! When I returned home, I realized I lost my coin purse. I returned Lube & Sticker Max but the office door was already locked. However, the work area was still open and the technician appeared telling me they had my purse! I was so happy to have found Lubes & Sticker Max and used it for the state inspection. Max is awesome! I've been going to his shop for many years. In fact, I guess from the grand opening. I have also owned many cars from BMW's, VWs, Lexus', to Hyundai's since then and Max is always there to help out when needed. Not only a great mechanic but an honest one to boot. I had a repair needed to be done but instead of taking the money and doing the job, he notice that the repair I needed should still be under manufacture warranty and recommended that I should take the car to the dealership instead. I came here this morning on 12/7/15, I called around 9am to see if they could take me in around 9:30 for an oil change, the guy answered with a pleasing attitude. By the time I came, he took my keys and sent someone to take care of it for me, and then I was I and out in about 20 minutes, had a chance to check out my car saying my brakes needed to be changed too. The only good thing about this place is that the inspection was quick and cheap. I won't go back though because the place was so dirty and smelled so bad of cigarette smoke. I had my kids with me and I closed the door to their little office so my little guy wouldn't go in and you could see a big ash tray with tons of cigarette butts. Cigarette smoke inside?? Come on, that's just gross. The pictures don't show how dirty and dark the place is. I don't expect any car place to be clean but a quick mop and some air freshener would go a long way. When I had problems with my Honda Accord 97, he would check it out thoroughly and let me know what repairs I needed and for the best pricing, even if it was not with him. Took my car in today for an oil change, my mother and I were on our way to do some shopping and Yelp said they had quick service so I took a chance. Sure enough I was out in about 15 minutes. While the service was fast I'm not so sure I'll be a returning customer. The place was pretty filthy and wreaked of cigarette smoke like some of the other reviews mentioned, there was dirt and leafs all over the floor and the once white ceiling fan was covered in dust. I would have normally waited outside but it was cold and drizzling. Also I though it was odd I was only given a register receipt, no invoice? After it was all said and done it was $65 only $1 cheaper than my regular place. read more

:) So, I had an issue with the bottom of my car. I took it to two location to compare the prices. The first location took a brief look, then said it would be about $290 with 3 days of needing to hold onto the car. I then went to Lube N Sticker Max. He drove the car above one of those enormous mechanical devices to lift the car. His mechanic took a look at the bottom and spent about 10 minutes fixing the panel and putting in screws. Afterwards when it was finished, Max just handed me the keys and said it's done. I asked him how much was it. He said, no worries. It was just some screws. I was in awe! It's rare to see a honest business, and one that wouldn't even take money when they deserved it. He is a very friendly guy who definitely works very hard and is very efficient! Would recommend this place a million times. The ONLY small downside was how difficult it was to find the hours online. Thus I'll just post them here (Note: it may change from my post).
