    My wife loves to shop at Michaels for supply for her students at her school and items she like to like protects for family and friends. I also Michael's you bring pictures and other items they can frame it and other things they do. We have been to different Michael's in different area but like the Michael's in South Gate.

    The customer service is non existent! I walked in and saw nobody on the floor! Then after a few minutes I found someone and asked for help and got a very unenthusiastic responses. At the end I said thank you and there was no (your welcome) just silence.. This particular location hires people who don't know the products they sell and much worse is they make uninformed statements on the products they know nothing about! The employee said you couldn't use Posca markers on glass when it states it on the markers itself ! Also (I was using them all day for my business just the day before!) so I said nothing to the employee and listened in horror.. Also ,The merchandise is never sufficiently stocked at this particular location so you quite possibly will waste your time coming here for something you really need and should be stocked but sadly isn't last week or this week or next month! So I went to another location and they were properly stocked and the customer service was stellar even bought items I wasn't planning to buy because .. you guessed it they were in STOCK!!! as should be at such a large store! This has happened a few times so hence why I'm writing this review for this location. Michael's is a great store with great value for your buck but it's unfortunate that this location has to suck because of management and the employees they choose to hire! Sad...

    They sell the frames as if they are matted and the matted size is 11 X 14. You can see this price is for 11X14 & 8X10 frames.

    Every time I come to this store, it's DRAMA with signage in pricing. You have signs up for items that clearly state the description and price but believe you me, you can always count on this store to throw you a curve ball and everything not be correct as advertised. I saw they had frames that were buy 1, get 2 free. Awesome deal! However, the signage was ALL WRONG! On top of that, the signage that was up, displayed the correct description of items I wanted and there were no other signs contradicting the price. When I bring this up, the associate informs me they didn't put the signage up. Thats not the customers problem, were not psychic! So, if you have signs up that describe the items correctly why would you even put up a debate on not honoring the price you have displayed!? The associate in framing then goes and checks with her manager and honors the price and informs me "next time, its a no go!" As if Im the problem lol. All of it is so laughable. How about next time just have the correct pricing up of the items your selling, Shirlock! THE CUSTOMER IS NOT ALWAYS RIGHT. The one time they are right? Is when the customer assumes the price is correct for signs you have displaying the correct items! This is my last time coming to this store. No type of ownership of the mistake you made, but instead, gaslight customers when they show you what YOU display and put up! Train folks better!

    First off I'd like to say my order was perfect. I made an online order and had it brought out curb side. the young lady was on point, brought my order, had a mask and gloves. thank you. This post speaks more to what I saw while i waited. There doesn't appear to be any social distancing floor markers. People seemed very closed and huddled together. There where so many people waiting to go in you would swear they were giving away free concern tickets. The scene looked and felt unsafe, some people had mask some didn't, lots of kids with no masks. When the store finally let people in it allowed 20 people in the store while only 4 had left. My advice for anyone planning to shop there; it is best to order online and do curb side pick up and avoid the posibility of getting sick. Good luck and stay safe.

    I rushed from my job to get here Sunday 3/14 about 5mins before closing for a poster my son needed. Come to find out closing hours are 6:55pm. As an employee who works retail I understand people want to get home ASAP as a consumer it's not ok we get to the store and we can't purchase what we need simply because employees chose to lock up sooner.

    I ordered 2 rolls of each- white and the weathered wood fadeless  paper, 4'x12' for my classroom boards.

    Bad service and poor communication…read more I've been trying to catalogue my MTG collection lately. I drove 40 min to get to this shop because they have a machine that scans your cards. I paid the shop to rent the machine and waited for 2 hours. Then the staff told me "We made a mistake setting this up. We can't give you the scanned info, but leave your cards behind and your email address, and we can send them over. You'll just need to scan this thing we send you." I was uncomfortable leaving my cards behind because they're important to me. But I didn't want to walk away empty-handed. So I decided to trust them and I left my cards behind. I didn't hear anything for 4 days. I had to call them and they said "Oh the employee you were talking to got sick. If you want to pick up your cards you can do that though." I asked "How about scanning my cards?" and they said "We'll message the sick employee and call you back to let you know what he says". I waited 3 more days and they didn't contact me at all. I realized they weren't going to reach out to me to resolve the issue, so I had to drive down to the store to demand my cards back. I don't know who the person running the back of the shop is. Maybe the manager. Maybe the owner. All I knew is that they had context on the whole situation and knew that I had returned to get my cards. They didn't bother to come over to talk to me. They didn't even give me eye contact. They didn't make even a single attempt at improving the situation. Not even an offer for store credit. Not even a sorry. They just shrugged and yelled across the room "machine's broken". Then they went back to puttering around and left another employee to deal with me. This other employee had no context on the situation. All she could do was hand me a cash refund and give me a confused "Sorry...?" I was treated like I was an annoyance. Someone who'd go away eventually if you ignored them. Not a respected customer who just wanted to do business. I'm not mad that the machine was allegedly broken. I'm only slightly mad that the employees aren't trained on how to use the machine. I'm frustrated that I paid for a service and they didn't bother seeing the job through to the end. They didn't communicate when they decided to give up. I trusted them with my personal card collection and they betrayed that trust. I don't even know if I have all my cards back, but I'll never know. Save yourself the stress.
