my favorite place to bring friends from out of town! So many fun flavors and easy snacks! nice staff, clean tables and decently well kept bathroom. Parking can be challenging so highly recommend walking

Love the hipster vibe here long narrow layout intense rich coffee medley aroma when you enter. Hard to miss the baked goods in glass case to immediate right upon. The Purple Mountain Mystic herbal tea is a combination of hibiscus Berry chamomile plus more !

A spacious cafe with lots of delicious cold and hot drinks. Even when busy it doesn't feel excessively crowded or noisy if you want to enjoy a high quality beverage made with good ingredients. Not great if you're in a rush though because it does take some time to fulfill each order and though the staff works pretty quickly, there's still a high volume of items to create. Though the coffee here is delicious, I do wish that the ordering / pick-up system was a bit more streamlined, because many people may have similar drink orders but it's difficult to figure out when to pickup a drink since the drink name, rather than a first/last name or number is called. Besides the location, one of the other reasons to visit this spot is due to the great vibe inside which is lively with nice decor as you're surrounded by artwork on all sides.

Michelangelo's is a great coffee shop if your goal is to get work done. The majority of the dining space is tables and chairs, and most of them have enough space to spread out your books, papers, and laptop. However, outlet space is limited so be sure to charge your devices beforehand. The staff is really friendly, though service can be a little slow. I waited about 15 minutes for my beverage and food item and the shop was only at 1/3 capacity. I got a strawberry, banana, mango smoothie with an orange juice base and it was yummy, albeit a bit expensive (over $7 for the smaller size). I've had their chai in the past and it is fantastic. I highly recommend it. The pumpkin chocolate chip muffin I had today was mediocre. Too dry and crumbly for my taste. I'll probably try a different pastry next time.

A real gem for being the last coffee shop on this side of town the prices here are refreshingly reasonable. In a world where coffee shops seem to charge more for less, this one offers great quality without breaking the bank. Their espresso drinks are smooth and rich, and their pastries? Absolutely worth it. The cannolis, in particular, are a standout--crispy, creamy, and perfectly sweet. It makes sense, considering the owners are Italian and clearly take pride in their craft. But what makes this place even better is knowing that every dollar spent supports genuinely good people. The owners are as down-to-earth as they come, always welcoming customers with a smile and treating everyone like family. It's rare to find a spot that combines great coffee, a relaxing vibe, and owners who truly care about their community. The place is a reminder of what makes local coffee shops special, and I'll definitely be coming back again and again.

While in downtown Madison, Wisconsin, my husband and I stopped at Michelangelo's Coffee House to get an afternoon snack. We got a mocha chiller and a brownie. The drink was very good and the brownie hit the spot. I love the art house vibe in this coffee house. The only negative was that there was no air conditioning on this warm summer day. Because of this, we didn't stay as long as we could have. The servers and cashier were very friendly. I highly recommend Michelangelo's Coffee House!

I stopped by for a coffee after lunch on a weekday. The place was not too busy. I went for a peanut butter mocha latte. Latte was really good. I didn't get a peanut butter flavor. But still an excellent drink. I also went for a lemon blueberry mascarpone dessert item. It was good with some real blueberry on top.

Go-to coffee on State! Love the large selection of flavors and drinks. The staff is always SO friendly and kind. Tried a sandwich here for the first time and will be coming back for food again!! Also love the bakery / pastry items (especially the 7 layer bar)

My partner and I stopped here over the weekend to grab a coffee during our stroll around downtown! This place was BUSY!! Just about every table and spot on the couch was full. And shortly after I ordered I could see why! They have great drinks and quick service. Very friendly staff! Their atmosphere is very artsy with a modern flare. I love it! It definitely attracts the young, vibrant and student crowd. Their prices are very comparable to a modern local coffee shop. A bit on the high side... but honestly very comparable. You'll pay $5-6 for a good coffee about anywhere you go. Totally worry it! Their baked goods looked a bit sad all wrapped up, if you're looking for fresh baked goods, I'd go somewhere else TBD. They definitely specialize in their flavors and specialty coffees. For parking, this is right on state street, so parking is tough, I'd recommend parking a bit further and walking... life is about the journey not the destination!

Their menu is small but mighty having a little something for everyone. I got a hot Maple Latte with oatmilk. The flavor was subtly sweet but paired great with the espresso. The maple syrup was sourced locally and made in house. I'd be very curious to come back and try the other specialty lattes. My husband got their Homemade Chai Latte. It was cozy in a cup and had nice spices in it. We shared the Bagel Sandwich which was the perfect portion for a breakfast snack. The bagel seemed to have fresh seasoning on it and the flavors layered nicely together. Overall, this was a great coffee, tea, food stop. They also had a good variety of merch items (apparel, coffee mugs, etc) to browse while waiting in line. They had a blueberry mint flat white on the menu, but since I wanted an iced coffee, the barista was able to ring up an iced latte with blueberry mint syrup for me instead. Super kind of her to recommend! Unfortunately the latte tasted pretty acidic, and I couldn't really taste blueberry or mint at all. My friend got the blueberry mint flat white (which is hot) and had the same complaints, so it might have just been the syrup. So wouldn't recommend the blueberry mint drinks but would be open to trying something else, since the service and ambiance of the shop was nice.

It's definitely a storefront with no seating, but if you don't mind standing there's an area where you could eat at a counter. I arrived at 9am on a Sunday and by the time I finished ordering, a line had formed out the door. I would definitely recommend getting here early; however, it's also the kind of place where you can't go wrong with anything you order. After a lot of waffling, I ordered the lemon currant scone, peach muffin, and ham and Gruyère bun. The scone was super buttery with a crunchy exterior and soft interior, with the most lovely glaze and lemon zest throughout. It definitely screamed summer. The peach muffin was super light and airy, and not at all too sweet. The crunchy cinnamon topping was absolute perfection and brought the perfect texture contrast. I really enjoyed the bun, which was like a mini sourdough loaf. I do think there could have been a bit more ham, but the caramelized onions throughout made sure that every bite was super flavorful.
