Told her to do it anyway, turned out to be Melanoma. She is a nasty human, and a terrible Doctor. My first couple appointments went really well and I thought that I had found a great dermatologist. That opinion changed significantly at my last appointment. When she finally came after I'd been waiting in the patient room for at least 15 minutes, Dr. Thompson and her assistant stopped outside my door and talked in hushed tones and then tried unsuccessfully to stifle their laughter. I got the impression that they were laughing at me as I was there for a personal situation. When she came in, she was rude and abrupt (very different than she had been before). When I tried to stand up to show her what my problem was, she angrily told me "YOU NEED TO BACK UP!" and that I was being very "twitchy". I was so confused and my feelings were hurt. This came out of nowhere! After that, she was condescending and looked at me in a way that made me think I was wasting her time (I caught her rolling her eyes at her assistant). I managed to hold back my tears until she left the room. As soon as she was gone though, I started to cry. I was so embarrassed and thrown off by her behavior. It took me a few minutes to pull myself together to leave. I have never before or since been treated so badly by a doctor. I still can't believe she is the same doctor that I liked in the beginning! Truly a Jekyl and Hyde transformation! I will never go back, ever! I have teen daughters and have told their friends' moms NOT to go to Dr. Thompson as they look for acne care for their kids! read more

After some recent events which made me realize I am being blackballed in the dermotology community. 5 weeks ago I went to my physican and he put in a referral at that time. It took Vancouver Clinic 5 weeks to call to set up the appointment. And they were cold and rude and told me the only available appointment was March 2023, 7 months away. Why, all because I said I DID NOT want to be referred to Michele Thompson. This was put in bold letters on the referral and I suspect somebody took offense. I did not tell my doctor why I did not want to see Dr. Thompson, and he didnt ask. Bottom line, Dr. Michele Thompson was the absolute most rude and disrespectful doctor I have encountered at Legacy after 25 years. She refuses to listen to what you have to say. It is all about "her". Comes off as entitled and very dismissive. I am not the only person who feels this way. See the Google and Yelp reviews. Don't go! Worst experience ever with a Doctor. Staff not so good either. Waited 20 min to get called back. Med assistant confirmed I was there for a full body scan (which I never got. It was a look at my left arm and back) as well as a dark spot on my left leg. Said dr would be right in. 20 min later assistant came and said Dr would be right in. Another 15 min wait. She came in with no apology introduced herself and asked why I was there. (She should know!) she looked quickly over the areas I wanted her to see. One of which wasn't there as I waited 3 months for the appt. I could go on and on.... Dr was very arrogant and not compassionate whatsoever. I needed a biopsy and she told me it would hurt. what? She prescribed me cream for my arm and back where I had spots in past that needed treatment. When I went and got the prescription, the directions stated to apply to my hip and legs??? What?? I then called the urgent line thinking this was someone else's not mine. It was the Dr's direct line which she never return my call. Had to wait over the weekend. Called office the following Monday and spoke to the assistant. Nothing but excuses and said it wasn't a problem. It was the correct medication. So I HAD to cross out the directions and write the correct ones for my issue. What a flipping joke!! Oh not to mention the excuses from the assistant and Dr about the waiting and the wearing of masks. Never go there! And from the first step in. They hit you with mandatory mask wearing. NO! They don't help. I will NOT be returning and recommend that you find another dermatologist as well if you want quality, knowledgeable and compassionate care. read more

Dr Thompson is a phenomenal dermatologist! She is knowledgeable, explains everything thoroughly, the office is pristine and the staff is always nice. I can kind of see where some of the negative reviews would come from, but my assumption is that some people think they know more than a doctor and want to question everything because they aren't being told what they want to hear. Dr Thompson knows her stuff and generally diagnoses quickly, as she has years of experience. She is always friendly and professional, but the longer you go to her she really warms up and has a pretty good sense of humor too. She has a great eye and doesn't miss a thing, even when you go in for a different skin issue. I highly recommend her and trust her completely. read more

A few things... MD bedside manner & quality of care. If the patient is into being talked down to, judged, visibly rushed - see MD Thompson. She had no time in her very much stated "15 min appt." She told me that 7 times within 15 minutes. Anyway, I went in for an annual mole check and when I brought up skin care options she had no time to talk about skin care. She just had me buy sunscreen. She half hearted cryogenically froze a thing in the bottom of my foot. Of course, she "went above and beyond." Guess what? It's still on the bottom of my foot- after 3 weeks- didn't even scab. She rolled her eyes several times while she examined my skin. I have been to her twice, just to make sure it wasn't something I was doing. Her staff quietly complains of a SUPER high turnover and now I can understand why. . Come to think of it-- I especially want a refund for the "surgery" on my foot . read more

Provider is knowledgeable but office is CONSTANTLY running behind. We have been to many appointments and I don't remember a single visit where the office was on time, especially in the afternoons. That said, the service is good *once you are with a doctor*. Just be prepared to wait well past your appointment time. read more

I was married to a plastic surgeon and worked in FL with dermatologists, Plastic surgeons and ENTs. I would say I'm pretty expert at sorting out good Drs from not so good. I've read some negative reviews as was quite reluctant to make an appointment. I'm happy to report that Dr. Thompson did right by me. I was in desperate need of seeing a dermatologist. Once I explained my situation to the nurse, she was able to get me in the next day because of a cancellation. My one big complaint, and this applies to all the dermatologists I called, is that they schedule new patients 8 to 10 weeks out - that's nuts. read more

As well as scheduling a follow up visit to ensure solutions were working as well as a long term plan. First time in this office, but will be transferring my dermatology needs to her office. I never leave reviews. Good or bad. But I left this office and immediately cried and I wanted people to know to not waste their time and energy coming to this doctor's office. When I called to make an appointment, the receptionist sounded like she could fall asleep and didn't care about me or her job. I was hoping that wouldn't be reflective of the office she represents. However, everyone at the office felt cold and inconsiderate. Especially Dr. Thompson. It felt like she didn't want to hear what I had to say and didn't really value any of my concerns. After my son got sent home from an odd skin condition I needed to get him in ASAP as we had a family vacation coming up and wanted to get him in so we could get it cleared up. (It happened to be contagious) After calling about 15 other offices in the area, I was able to personally reach Michele on the line. She patiently listened to his symptoms and told me she was not able to see him personally that day but she would contact one of her associates contact me immediately as she could sense my worry.. (Plus I wasn't sure how much urgent care could really diagnose the issue) I didn't see MIchele for his visit but her associate was equally warm and quickly gave me a diagnosis and plan of attack.. I have had a great experience with Dr. Thompson. She has helped me during a period of suffering from very painful cysts. I was able to get scheduled to see her quickly and she was able to treat them the same day; which provided a great relief. She was very thorough with her explanation of the issue as well as my different options of handling the situation. Only one star because zero stars was not an option! Dr. Thompson is the most arrogant and condescending medical professional I have ever come across. First, always running behind schedule. I once made a comment about this lack of timeliness to the receptionist after sitting in the waiting room for 20+ minutes without anyone saying anything to me. Later I was told by Dr. Thompson that I had "given attitude" to her staff and that I had anger issues! Second, her tone and attitude both come off as condescending as if she's speaking to a child. She often refers to her handouts instead of giving personalized care and will ask you to refer back to them instead of answering questions. The best decision I made was finding a new provider that treats their patients with respect. My advice is to run, run as fast as possible away from this office and never look back! read more

I saw Dr. Thompson at her former clinic a year and a half ago. She was kind and pleasant. However, she did not know what the growth on my finger was (and she's a dermatologist?). She drained the fluid and said if the growth filled up with liquid again, go to a surgeon. It filled up with liquid again. Her new clinic staff was rude and unhelpful. They won't even interpret Dr. Thompson's notes to explain what kind of surgeon I need my current PC physician to refer me to. I don't trust her competence. She's a dermatologist and can't diagnosis a growth on my 4th digit? Why would I go see her again? read more

Found a growth inside my left nostril which was getting larger. Called for an evaluation appt on a Monday and was seen by Wednesday (new patient). Dr. Thompson, upon seeing the issue, decided to remove the growth, cauterized the incision and I was in and out of her office. In less than an 90 minutes.
