    Yummy Beef Stew
    Heidi M.

Delightful private bistro owned & operated by chef. Delicious menu with homemade soups, sandwiches, Kielbasa & Cabbage diners and fresh Key Lime pie & other dessert treats. Located in a low traffic shopping therefore a peaceful dining experience. I had the very tasty beef stew that is on the menu daily. My mom had the tuna fish that also was amazing. Nice place to enjoy lunch alfresco!

Decent food, very friendly service. Mac n cheese was especially good. No frills though, when you order a sandwich don't expect chips or fruit or anything.

They have moved a mile or two away. The new address is 18050 SE 102nd Terrace, Summerfield, FL 34491. It comes up if you google the business, plus I called them to confirm. I am not sure why Yelp does not fix this.

Decided to try lunch specials and got the lunch portion Pork Schnitzel with Potato Pancakes and Gurkensalat (fresh cucumber salad with yogurt/sour cream dressing) My companion ordered the Buffalo Sandwich but opted for pork rather than chicken. A surprising choice that turned out to be a very good one! Came with 2 sides, chose fries and red cabbage. We also ordered the cheese spatzle with butter cheese and gruyere. Nice day so we dined outside on the patio. Our server (didn't get his name) was helpful and quick with our beverages and order. Everything came out quickly, hot and fresh. The schnitzel was perfectly fried and tender. The potato pancakes crisp and delicious with applesauce and sour cream toppings! Gurkensalat, fresh slightly crunchy cucumbers in a light creamy dressing. Perfect summer salad! The Buffalo sandwich with pork instead of chicken was amazing! Cooked to tender perfection with just the right amount of buffalo sauce and heat. The grilled pretzel bun with cheese, lettuce and tomato was excellent. The fries were a great companion to the Buffalo sandwich. Red cabbage rounded out the meal adding both color and texture to the lunch. I come to this restaurant every time I visit Sanford as I love German food and the staff here is so friendly and welcoming! I highly recommend Hollerbach's German Restaurant for delicious German Food, great atmosphere and friendly service! Excelent Local Restaurant!

There were 3 empty table she told us were for other people and there was a line outside. It was a mess. She then told me it was because the World Cup was on. I think this is something they should have mad my mom aware of when she booked the reservation. It was just confusing and chaos. So we left. I thought the whole situation was poorly handled. Have you ever wondered what German pastry heaven would look like?…read moreWell, look no further, Yalaha Bakery is what you've been dreaming of! My husband and I have been searching for a German bakery since we both have a sweet tooth for baked goodies. He's been telling me about how legendary German goulash tastes since before we got married (it's been a few years now ) and the Yalaha Bakery menu mentioned seasonal soup including goulash so of course we had to stop here. We visited on a rainy Wednesday afternoon around 4:45 pm. This place has modest architecture and a small parking lot, but don't let that fool you since as soon as you open the door, there are 4 glorious levels of tasty treats under a refrigerated glass display and fresh bread in shelves behind the counter. There were about 4 customers in the shop and a few others that came in while we were ordering. Everything looked so delectable, so it was hard to choose from the huge variety! Our bakery order ended up being quite large, so I'm glad my husband brought the cooler with him. We got 1 rhubarb pie (for a gift), 1 rhubarb streusel (another gift), 1 apple streusel, 1 German apple pie, 1 tiramisu, 2 lavender shortbread cookies, 1 eclair, 1 cream horn, 1 Brazilian caramel bar, 4 pretzel rolls, and 4 large pretzels. There might be a few other things as well. The order was about $125 with tip. Excellent customer service by the counter girl, and she was very patient while we were deciding on things. After we packed our pastries in the cooler, we went back to check out the deli section. They had a lot of German deli items to choose from, but what I was really interested in was the goulash. The very kind counter lady (possibly the owner?) took my order, and I couldn't have asked for a heartier, soul-warming soup for about $6. The meat was cooked to soft perfection. The veggies (peppers, tomato, and potato if I recall correctly) melted away while you sipped the soup that tasted like it was made by your favorite extra-skilled German grandma. I was in stew heaven. Of course, I shared a few spoonfuls with my husband, and it was gone in a few minutes. All in all, we discovered that Yalaha Bakery is a hidden gem in Yalaha, FL. If you love bakeries and handmade treats like we do, this is a great place to visit. Prepare your bank account to splurge on pastries, artisan German bread, and remember to stop by the deli! We'll be back again next time we're in the area on one of our road trips.

We all started with the French onion soup, and every single person at the table agreed -- it was amazing. Rich, flavorful, and a perfect way to kick off the meal. For my main course, I had the veal schnitzel, and it was cooked perfectly -- tender, juicy, and lightly breaded just right. It comes with lingonberry sauce on the side, which adds a great balance of sweetness. I chose the buttered spätzle with Jäger mushroom sauce as my side, and it was absolutely delicious. For dessert, we split the blueberry mascarpone cheesecake and the apple strudel with Kelly's Ice Cream. Both were excellent and the perfect ending to a great meal. They have a full liquor bar and German beers on tap, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. This is definitely a place we'll be going back to. Highly recommend!

Our server, Erick, greeted us a couple of minutes later, and was attentive during our time there, with explanations of the drinks and meals. Although they don't have as extensive of a menu that other local German restaurants have, they do have the standards and my impression is that they are going for a higher quality experience instead of food hall. For example, they also offer steaks that appear to be a much higher quality (and price point). There is a decent selection of German beers, loads of wine, and a full bar. The mushroom risotto was very good, the heirloom tomato salad was a little on the bland side. My mom in law claimed it was one of the best pork schnitzels she has had. They are relatively young (10 months), and working on fully opening, so one of the rooms and bathrooms were blocked off, but I was told that part would be opened soon.

This was his first night and was equally as good as the primary server, except he had to get help on a few questions we had that related to how to use certain sauces etc. And he got the help very quickly. We started with the pork belly. Fried crispy on the outside and still tender on the inside. It was served with what looked like marinara, but it had an amazing spice mixture in it. Spices as in seasoning, not heat. The best pork belly I have ever had, I could eat just this, and if I were alone it would be enough. We had a cup of hunters soup and polish mushroom soup. Both were very good. I would skip those next time to save room for other things, but only because I would rather eat other things. There were enough tables to seat quite a few people without overcrowding anyone. As a main course we decided to split the polish sampler. 2 potato pancakes, 2 cabbage rolls, 8 perogies and a polish sausage. We didn't know how big the sausage would be so we ordered a side, we did not need it. There was so much food, we did not finish it all and my wife had some for lunch the next day, and still there was leftovers. The place is hidden in a 3 story shopping center, but well worth looking for.

The veal was incredibly tender, and the gravy was packed with flavor. It was a satisfying entrée that came with two sides. For my sides, I chose the pierogies and spätzle. The pierogies were honestly my favorite part of the meal. They were fluffy, cheesy, and generously filled. So delicious. I could have eaten a whole plate of just those. The spätzle was soft and well prepared, but compared to everything else, I found it a little boring. The restaurant itself is very cute and has a lot of character. I loved browsing the selection of German snacks, candy, and other imported items available for purchase. It added to the overall experience and made the place feel unique. While I'm not that familiar with German food, I thought this was a pretty good restaurant. Overall, I found German cuisine a little more muted than what I'm personally used to, but I still really enjoyed the meal and the experience. I'd be interested in trying more of the menu.

I had such high hopes for this place. :( The selection is very limited and perhaps I missed something (entirely possible), but I did not see a price list for the deli case. We did find a unique assortment of other German products- some we haven't seen in many years. The restaurant portion was quite busy and the customers looked happy. We were flooded with nostalgia and left in hopes of dining in on a less-busy day. I ordered two meats, including the German bologna. During the drive home, my family and I noticed a terrible odor-- the kind where we started pointing fingers at one another. We never suspected that the package from the deli was the source. When we opened it at home, a nauseatingly funky, ammonia-type smell came from the German bologna. While the liverwurst smelled okay, I could not trust it after the bologna and decided against keeping it. Wasted time and money. Dang! The staff is super nice and that was truly a plus. However, I doubt we will be back. My family is very bummed over this.
