    Fettuccine Alfredo

Maybe it's the tall cypress trees out front, or the terra cotta colored building or perhaps the smell of garlic wafting in the air as you walk in the door...either way...you know you're about to embark on a culinary adventure through the Italian countryside. I twirled my fork in bowl of velvety Fettuccine Alfredo showered with Parmesan Cheese, that our delightful server, Jazlyn, recommended...wow...cheesy deliciousness. My favorite though was the homemade Garlic Knots-five hot & fluffy garlic twists floating in a pool of seasoned melted garlic butter & served with a side of signature red sauce. FAIRE? The fairest one of all.

    Dinner time at the Faire.

My first time here. Great Italian restaurant with amazing food and I saw other diners enjoying their plates too. The wait staff was fabulous. The dining room was spotless. They also make their own Rotisserie Chicken & when I walked in, there was a bakery case filled with homemade Italian cakes. They have a nice Wine selection and the price was more than FAIRE.

The BOGO pizza deal sounds great until you actually try the pizza. Both pies were extremely thin, light on toppings and heavy on dry crust. Unfortunately, they were also pretty flavorless. It felt like getting two pizzas didn't matter when neither one was satisfying. Great concept, but the quality just isn't there. Not worth it, even at two for one.

I freaking loveeee Pasta Faires chicken Marsala! I love that it doesn't necessarily come with noodles & I can choose a side. It's sooo delicious. We also had the NY Strip with blue cheese & a side Caesar salad. They always have good specials as well. Our server was great and very attentive.

    Steak sandwich on "sub roll"

The mix and match lunch menu looked like a good value. Ordered the garlic steak and cheese sandwich described and pictured as being on a sub roll. When we got it however it was a greasy flattened paninni........surprise! Service was slow for not being busy. Cleaned the table across from us after customers left but didn't check under the table for stuff that might need to be cleaned up as well......attention to detail? Just took way too long to get in and out.

Bread fair. Give you oil no butter no spices. Food average. Service good. A bit below my expectations. A bit tired needs some TLC.

After seeing how far it was from me, I didn't think I'd ever get the chance to sample . However, I found myself in a situation where I felt I could make the 30 minute (each way) drive. I was a little disappointed as I pulled into the parking lot got as, the building isn't exactly easy on the eye. But, I didn't let that sway me. Got there at about 12:15pm on a Thursday and saw lots of activity coming and going. There would about 3 or 4 people in front of me and I waited. As I waited, I watched. There didn't seem to be an efficient work flow in the kitchen. A lot of running back and forth instead of having things "right there". This translated into long service times. Got down to just one person in front of me and things stalled even more as there was much talking about this and that. The line behind me grew to about 10 people. If it wasn't so hot outside I believe the line would have gone out the door. I'll admit that I just about gave up as it probably was close to 15 minutes before taking my order. But, I stayed put. Angelo took my order of an Italian Combo and asked if I wanted it "All The Way". Always. However, I understand that "All The Way" means different things to different people but, I'm good to experience it, "however Christina's of Bellevue " sees it. Angelo was quick to clarify, however, that, "All The Way" meant having mayonnaise on the sandwich and, seeing me with my New York Mets hat on, wanted to be sure that's what I wanted or to just have "sub sauce" on it. Any respecting Italian Combo eater knows that putting mayo on this type of sandwich is an absolute travesty, and Angelo picked up on that he was dealing with an expert. Not exactly sure what "sub sauce" is but, let's go with it. Wasn't as long of a wait in the construction of the sandwich as I thought and I paid my cash (only btw) and was out the door for the 30 minute treck to west Ocala. I was happy at the butcher paper and masking tape wrap. I don't know why this matters, it just does! I unwrapped the sandwich and was pleased to see some soggyness. I realize that some people don't appreciate this type of thing but, I usually order by Italian combos with extra vinegar just for the soggyness. A little disappointed in the bread at first glance as it did not contain sesame seeds and was a little soft, soggyness not withstanding. Bread being the number factor in a good sandwich and, clearly the area is challenged in that respect. I dove in. The overall taste was very good. I would suggest to explain that the sandwich contains sweet banana pepper rings. I like that but, would be informative for the buyer to know that the sandwich is coming this way and perhaps give them the choice of hot or sweet pepper rings, or none at all. There was a sweet undertone to the sandwich beyond the sweet pepper rings and, I'm not sure if this was from the "sub sauce". I would make this my main criticism on the overall taste of the Italian combo. Make a "dressing" of extra virgin olive oil, red wine vinegar, salt/pepper/oregano/basil.....maybe a squirt of lemon juice, and that's what should be the "sub sauce". It did have a "store bought" quality to it. Nonetheless, I devoured both halves extremely quickly. Fair price at $11. Give it a try but, bring your patience and cash. Yes, I concur, best I've had in the area!!!!

So whatever hope I had of getting crispy wings just went out the window. You don't desecrate wings like this.
