Great atmosphere. Germany won the game and the place was roaring. The server was very efficient. Our appetizers came quickly. They were out of dome beers on tap. The pretzel appetizer was enough to share. The saurbraten was good. The bratwurst was good too. We loved the red cabbage. The music was jovial.

Wow! Wow! What an amazing place. We found it driving back from eating the other night. Super friendly hostess and an awesome server. The menus like a newspaper with history and great descriptions. The menu is a bit overwhelming but we ordered what we knew. He started with the pretzel and the mustard was the bomb. The cheese spread was also delicious but my favorite was the mustard. Then I had the Jagerschnitzel with red cabbage and sauerkraut. The pork schnitzel was awesome and the gravy was devine. The red cabbage was delicious and awesome. The sauerkraut was ok. Then we tried the Black Forest Cake. Oh my. It was amazing. The whole meal left me in joyful agony over eating way too much much. The old school family table inside and the outside was more four tops. The decor was traditional German. Awesome place and will be on my return list.

One of our favorite places to eat at in Sanford!! Hollerbach's has the BEST German food in Orlando. I love to try the different sausages and the best side is always the Heaven and Earth Potatoes. The atmosphere is so much fun and the staff is always so friendly and welcoming. My tip is to go early for lunch to get a table without a wait!

Been a long time since I was here last, decided to have a little date night. It was a fun time in downtown Sanford. Got here early and no wait at all which was nice. Service was not the greatest without server, hard to get her attention for things. I got the paprikaschnitzel with heaven and earth potates and a salad. All great flavors and were really good. Only disappointment was the potato were a little dry and I needed some gravy for them. She got the schnitzel weiner art with potatoes and salad. Hers was really good too It's always a good time sitting inside with the music and singing. Can be a bit loud at times and hard to hear each other. But it was too hot to eat outside. Will definitely be back. Need to check out the upstairs rooftop patio area.

My favorite spot in Sanford! I love coming here on the weekend but I actually went with my coworkers on a lunch break this visit. We sat on the bar side and had two amazing bartenders. There were a couple groups on the bar side, but it wasn't too loud. They offer lunch specials at a fantastic size and price! I got a Radler to drink and the Kleiner Sauerbraten. Absolutely phenomenal. This was my first time ordering it and will definitely get it again.

I've been more than once but this most recent time was the first time I was here when the musicians were singing and playing. This is a vibe. Take your friends, get a boot, enjoy the beer and the exciting times. We had a while before a show around the corner so we took our time and even played some cards in between an app and our meal. We weren't rushed out and we felt glad for that. I didn't love our latkes. They were cold when they got to us. Our server seemed confused that they had not made it to our table so my guess is that they had been sitting in the window a while forgotten. I almost sent them back, but I hate that. Our server was nice enough to tell us one of the beers we considered ordering wasn't even German so it wasn't the best choice ;). Thankful for that. I would say the sausages are the best here. I did order spaetzel but it also wasn't super warm when it came out and the cheese wasn't my favorite. It's what I ordered though so that's on me. I love the newspaper style menu it makes it fun!

Our third visit, and consistently amazing! We love the atmosphere here and attended for a friend's birthday to party! Our server, Kayla, was phenomenal and went out of her way to make the experience so fun and special! Even though it was loud, she was super attentive and made sure we all had exactly what we needed. The food was delicious and authentic. The music was great and interactive, while the sweetest 91 year old woman led our entire party in the chicken dance. We had a wonderful night and made so many good memories!

A spot I've been wanting to try for years, and I was so happy to find that it was worth the wait! The day I went, there was a line outside that looked like it would take forever, but for a party of 2 it probably only took around 20 minutes to get a table. For larger parties, they will take your phone number and notify you when your table is ready so that your group can wander the shops nearby or grab a drink at The Lodge bar (part of Hollerbach's). There is a ton of seating both inside and outside, and at certain times there is live German music inside which is broadcasted outside on TV and speakers! One thing I was really impressed by was their ability to substitute sides. I substituted both of my sides for no extra charge. I highly recommend the German potato salad (warm kartoffelsalat) instead of French fries for a way more traditional schnitzel experience. The cucumber salad (gurkensalat), egg noodles with gravy (spätzle mit soße), and sauerkraut (sauerkraut) were all delightful as well! The atmosphere is lively, noisy, and fun (especially on the weekends) with people doing shotskis and passing around Das Boot!

Beef Rouladen. Taken with flash, so not that great of a photo.

UPDATE - Came back with friends. My opinion didn't change much. The food is good, the atmosphere is fine, the portions are good but there's something that just doesn't work for me. The meat is overcooked, tough. The menu is very limited, well its German. So maybe it's me. I recommend of you're into German food. We got the potato pancakes (Kartoffelnpuffer) and the pig wings. Street parking, fair prices, good service.

Hollerbach's is a true and wonderful representation of German culture, sat in the quaint downtown of Sanford. I'm not a huge fan of German cuisine, but even I could appreciate just how good and authentic this place is. Oh, and they have root beer on tap and it is the BEST root beer I have ever had, maybe will ever have except actually in Germany. Their desserts were also fabulous, so I'd come back again literally just for root beer and dessert. The cake? Moist but not overly sweet, so delicate and delicious. My family member who's been to Germany many times was so excited when we were here, and she raved about how much the food reminded her of her travels there, which was high praise. It's got all the charm and fun, and gets super busy because it's the real deal.

Place is packed on. Saturday afternoon but was seated with no wait. The Sprecter root beer tasted a little sour and sweet. The sausage was crisp and well complemented by the sauerkraut. Mustard on the sausage brought the flavor out. The potatoes was a little sour and sweet.

So we might actually be Hollerbach girls. Visited Hollerbach's a couple of times and honestly it's always a great vibe. The vibes get a bit stronger as the night goes on, but the authentic food/drinks and live music create an evening of levity. Even if you don't participate you get to watch others take on the boot and follow all of the official rules. We have plans to come back with friends to take on the challenge.

I definitely have to say this was a great little experience eating and shopping here! Next door this the store had coffee and I got a Dubai chocolate and have to say it was the best coffee I've ever had in my life! I got a muffin to go with it and I enjoyed it very much. A great little special they were having two they have all kinds of meats and cheeses and an extensive beer collection. You must go to the market! As far as lunch it was a little difficult because I am gluten-free and I never found anything I absolutely loved. But the service was great and the drinks were fabulous and it was a really nice experience. I really wanted a Reuben and had high hopes for it but it was on the dry side and the bread fell apart and I couldn't eat it. I'd love to try it again though.

We are planning a family get together for Saturday afternoon. There will be 15 people coming. Will you be able to accommodate us around 1 pm.? I have tried to call but have not been able to speak to a person, only get a recording.

Reservations are for the main dining hall only and are only taken Monday- Friday. Reservations for Saturday and Sunday are unavailable.

Is the roof top dining for events only or can you get a table up there and would you need to reserve one?

The rooftop is open to anyone at any time. It isn't for events only. No need to make a reservation. Just take the elevator up and see the hostess when you get up there.

Is it possible to get a table on a Saturday night for 8-10 without a reservation? We don't mind a long wait.

If you don't mind a long wait then yes you can. A reservation is just easier. Enjoy!

Is there a nutritional chart available on request? As a diabetic I would need to know. Example: the giant pretzel? How many gazillion carbs? Thanks :)

No nutrition available. If you’re diabetic, don’t eat the pretzel. Eisbein with sauerkraut is delicious & a good option!

    Are dogs allowed?

Yup! You can have them in the outside eating area and they will even give you water & food for them :)

The atmosphere was really laid back and comfortable. It had that casual downtown brewery vibe without feeling loud or chaotic, which made it easy to actually hang out and talk. Definitely felt more relaxed than some of the packed spots nearby that night. Trevor was the only server/bartender working and he was absolutely hustling the entire time. Even while juggling the whole floor and bar, service stayed friendly and attentive, which we appreciated. They have a really solid selection of house-brewed beers, plus a full bar if cocktails are more your thing. The biggest surprise though was the food. Everything tasted really fresh and homemade instead of typical "brewery food." We started with the Brussels sprout appetizer and it was SO good, super flavorful and a great portion for sharing. The chicken quesadilla was more of a classic/basic quesadilla, but still really tasty and packed with toppings. The fish and chips ended up being the table favorite. The fish was crispy and fresh, the tartar sauce was excellent, and they served it with this red pepper-style sauce that was also amazing. We also ordered loaded fries and loaded tots. Both came covered in beer cheese, bacon, and chives. The tots especially were incredible, they were super thick and potatoey inside while still crispy outside. This ended up being such a pleasant surprise stop for us after skipping a few overly crowded places nearby. What an absolutely fantastic, surprising find in the heart of downtown old historic Sanford. " Make…read more2nd your 1st choice," is the perfect slogan! In town on a work trip, my husband, and I decided to try this place out! What a wonderful surprise! From the moment you walked in the eclectic, industrial, modernized, warm, cozy feel welcomes you in. Our server was friendly and attentive, and we knew right away that this place was a find! Well, I know everyone recommends the chocolate cake, I can't rave enough about the crème brûlée. Do yourself a favor and go out of your way to enjoy a " private chef experience" meal! My husband had the Bean, kale soup which he said is probably the best soup he's ever eaten! Everything was Amazing 5+ stars on the food. The service was pretty good. Many, many complements to the chef and his staff.
