I figured for $70 for 1 hour, it's worth a try. It's a no-frills establishment, but very zen. Soft music, oil diffusers and quiet. I was put into a room and asked to undress. Lisa, an Asian woman, came in and proceeded to give me a "towel on" rub down to loosen up the tons of pent up lactic acid in my body. That lasted about 10 mins. For a tiny woman, she had amazingly strong hands! Then off came the towel and I was in massage oil heaven! She asked if she was being too hard on me (NO!!) and told me that I had "too much stress" in my shoulder area and hips. She focused on that pain I had, and proceeded to give me pretty much, the BEST full body massage I've ever had! She ended with hot stones and a wonderful head and facial massage. I could feel my blood flowing and all the bad energy leaving through my finger tips and toes. I rested for a bit, got dressed and she gave me water telling me to hydrate. No language barrier there. There were 3 other customers trying to enjoy services. I had to ask not once but three times for them to stop yelling at each other. It went on for almost the rest of my massage which was about 30 mins. Due to the staff infighting my massage therapist became distracted and began what I can only describe as "petting" for the remainder of the massage. Too busy talking to actually give the massage. That was only the beginning. When my massage ended I sat up with a strange knowing...it was too early. I looked at my phone and sure enough, it was only 4:24. I realize 6 minutes is a not a long time, but 90 mins is 90 mins. I have never had someone stop early to prepare for the next client. My masseuse argued that he needed to stop early because there was someone waiting. Sorry, but that's not how it works. Don't sell a 90 minute massage if you don't intend on providing 90 minutes of service. Then, to make matters even worse, the man at the front desk asked for my credit card claiming he needed to charge me. Confused, I explained that I had already paid. I actually pulled up my banking app in order to show him the charge from when I had first walked in. He said "look it says 'pending', that means we didn't charge you!" Clearly this man has never used a credit card processing machine before. I refuse to give him my card as I explained to him that he had, in fact, already charged me. He said "well, we will just charge you tomorrow". Then hell you will, sir. Typically there is a very knowledgeable and friendly guy working the front desk (the manager) and I'm sure this would not have happened had he been there but it certainly left me with a creepy feeling. I did speak to the manager who was off site on this day. He apologized for the experience and credited me $10 for the lost time. Oddly enough, the front desk person still continued to ask for payment as I was leaving. I will be back as I believe this was a one-off. And I commend the manger for addressing it with me over the phone. Still, super weird trip to Happy Feet.
