This place is absolutely amazing from top to bottom. Let me start by saying when I first came in I was getting married in a few months and have always hated my smile. To my surprise they told me they could fix my teeth in time for my wedding which was only like 6 months away at the time. He did an amazing job with lots of free added bonuses because he new my wedding was right around the corner. They are very kind from the moment you walk in the door. They offer in house financing which was super quick and straight forward. A few months down the road my auto payment stopped coming out for some reason and they didn't charge me a late fee, they simply resumed my payments and added on the extra months at the end of the term. They have just been so kind, accommodating, and professional. I'm sure all 3 of my children will end up needing braces as well and I'm happy to know I have an amazing orthodontist to take them to! As to the reviews saying the wait time is long...of course it is. If their wait time was super short, it would be because they don't have a lot of customers and clearly they are packed full of clients because of the amazing work they do. When you go to a great facility there is going to be wait times! I will add though, I tend to show up for my appointments an hour early and I always get in super early. My experience at Paquette's is amazing! The wait there isn't that long. It's about 5 to 10 minutes for a wait. The orthodontist assistants there are very nice! They ask you how you are and during you appointment, they'll ask if you are okay! They are amazing at what they do! read more

I will start my update pointing out that I'm an adult in my mid-30's & am on my second round of braces (my retainer broke as a child & my teeth shifted back). I had braces for years (as a kid), and even had head-gear, spacers, this stupid contraption for years called "lip-bumper...." After my retainer broke, my teeth shifted back. I had put off getting braces as an adult for two reasons - first, it was/is very expensive (because insurance won't cover adult orthodontics), & second, it was ugly! I considered getting braces a year or two before I got married, & was told I was not a candidate for Invisalign - this meant the metal ones were the only option. I waited a few more years; who wants brace-face wedding photos? After we got married, I waited a few years before finally deciding to INVEST IN MYSELF! I wasn't enthused about the price or the metal-braces, I accepted it. I went to (literally) 7 or 8 different orthodontists, & I decided to go with Dr. Paquette. I am glad I did! While he was not the least expensive, or most, he is the most qualified. He stood out in the best way. His location in Mooresville was perfect for me - close to home & work. My wait time is usually less than 10 minutes in the waiting room & less than 5 in the chair. You walk in & the office is really nice! It's well decorated with a relaxed-Tommy-Bahama(ish) vibe. It's clean, modern & has the occasional (but nice) feel of a tropical resort lobby. ...not the tacky fish & seashell kind of motif, but natural wood accents & the occasional reference to a palm tree. (I get the sense Dr. Paquette likes the beach; he's often wearing a collared short-sleeved beachy shirt!) The office is a good size. Theres TVs (with informative videos & cable) in the lobby, a kids play area, magazines & a good balance of lighting (well lit, but relaxing). While I know the overall ambiance wouldn't translate to my teeth directly, it gave me a sense of comfort that this practice has its act together & it's a reflection of their service. The real seller for me was the experience & knowledge Dr. Paquette has. I remember the woman who met with me for my consult said something along the lines of "Dr. Paquette helped write the book on Invisalign." Huh? Well, she wasn't kidding. He, I believe, is among the first to try new technologies they offer, & he offers feedback in their products before they become standard. He helps to make Invisalign so great, all the way from Lake Norman! At my consultation, the first thing she & Dr. Paquette asked was WHAT I WANTED. This is very different from all other practices - others took a look, & then TOLD ME what I needed. Dr. Paquette's office took a different approach here & it matters, tremendously. I explained what I did & didn't like, & expressed what I'd like the outcome to be. With that information in hand, they walked me through my options. Go figure, I had options!?!? I was a great candidate for metal braces (I had gone in fully expecting to do the Damon system & found Dr. Paquette through their site). We talked about that, but they also told me I WAS a candidate for Invisalign. There were others who offered Invisalign to me, but none instilled the confidence of the outcome like he did. Because he has a partnership with Align Technologies (Invisalign), he has FAR MORE influence over & experience in the process. For the same investment & amount of time, I could go with Invisalign! A few other orthos offered Invisalign to me, but none instilled the confidence that Dr. Paquette did. He showed me a model with attachments, which is important so you're not surprised when you get them (they make the aligners much more visible when they're in.) Another differentiation: EVERY other ortho gives you a new aligner every 2-weeks, but only Dr. Paquette gets you a new one every single week. He is 1 of only 8 orthos in the world on the Clinical Advisory Board for Invisalign! He is a lecturer/pro Insignia Digital Orthodontics, Damon Smile & of course Invisalign. There are other accolades, but these had the most value to me. I'm 2.5 years into my treatment & am in the homestretch. The team here is very professional & answered all million of my questions! I've recently switched to SLX braces (superior to Damon - smaller, more efficient and easier to maintain) for the final few months to perfect my tricky bite. He's the lead clinical advisor to HSO (the makers of SLX), and he knows how to leverage their technologies. He won't just slap braces on you without assessing your case and defining the strategy for the process. I've been very impressed with the commitment from Dr. Paquette to ensure I'm 100% satisfied. I will update my review after my final 'manicure' (he will do a final shaping & polishing of my teeth), and he'll finish with top & bottom retainers (for whitening) & a fixed bottom retainer. read more

Frustrating experience. I called the office on several occasions, left a messages on voice mail and I never once received a call back. It was not until I actually was lucky enough to call and get a person on the phone was I able to reschedule an appointment three weeks later. I was never given a reasonable explaination for my calls/messages not being returned. My treatment took nine months; even though, I paid for 18 months. Never once was I offered a shorter treatment package. To quote an office employee, I should consider myself lucky because I have good genes. I also questioned this employee as to why I never received all the procedures that were prescribed on my treatment package. She apologized and said it was because I did not need them. If I did not need all the procedures, why did a technician or Dr Paquette not take the time to explain that to me, why did I have to ask when my braces were being removed and why was I paying for services never received. My teeth are not completely straight, I still feel remnants of the material to hold the invisaline in place on my teeth. When explaining my frustration to the office employee, she apologized and said she would feel much better if I would just smile for her. That was when I shut down. She was not concerned about me, my experience. Her concerned about money and not the their patients. read more

Where do I begin with how thankful and happy I am with Dr. Paquette and his staff...My daughter (age 9) has sensory issues with her mouth and every dental visit we have had in the past has been challenging/miserable to say the least. I was dreading an orthodontist appointment for her but not only did it go well, she actually said (in her words) she LOVED that place and couldn't wait to go back! We went in for a consult and ended up getting braces at the end of the appointment because she said she wanted to do it right away! We love Dr. Paquette and his office. Their schedule is so well organized that they always run on time and never keep us waiting. And they are flexible if I need to change appointment times, even at the last minute! We are lucky we chose Dr. Paquette - he doesn't waste my time as a parent and there has been minimal time out of school since we make most of our appointments 6 weeks ahead of time. I initially went to Dr Paquette to see if he could correct not just my teeth, but more importantly my bite and TMJ issues. When he did the scan on me and he saw that my issue was more complicated, he referred me to a fantastic oral surgeon - Dr Haigney in Huntersville - and together they had my jaw and teeth completely fixed in only 13 months!! I'm amazed at how fast everything happened! I couldn't ask for better results. I'm extremely happy that I chose Dr Paquette! If you miss your appointment be ready to wait up to a month to get another one - I was told that everyone is on a scheduled weekly update so you have to go to the next scheduled update. Kid number 2 out of braces and early!! She couldn't be more excited to be done and frankly she's competitive so child number 1 will never hear the end of this! . Dr. Paquette is a master craftsman if you want your smile done right. My older daughter had a very small pallet and any other Ortho would have put her through painful expanders and other additional procedures. Dr. Paquette was able to get it done without any of these (archaic in my opinion) procedures and she has a beautiful smile. We have child number 3 getting braces on Monday and I am confident we will love his smile when he's done as well. Their office is lovely and they go out of their way to make their customers wait comfortable. From coffee, treats and wifi in their lobby to the staff's upbeat demeanor. The financing process was easy and they offer a 24 month financing program regardless of how long your procedure takes. Comes in handy when you have 3 in braces one after the other. He is overpriced, so please shop around. We used Dr. Paquette for all of our children when they were younger, so my husband and I chose Dr. Paquette to do our orthodontic service now that we need braces ourselves. Because I had braces as a teenager, I knew my service would not take long. After the consultation, Dr. Paquette told me I would need braces for 8-12 months and my husband would need them for at least 2 years. My husband needed substantial work done so I expected to be quoted a higher price for my husband, but was floored when I was quoted over $8400 for me and $8400 for my husband. I questioned why they would charge us the same price when I didn't need as much work as my husband. We were told that it didn't matter the length of the service or whether we got invisalign or regular braces, the price would be the same. Geez $16,000 for braces!!! Well my husband and I began to shop around and speak to other people and our dentist. All of them told us we were being charged waaay too much. When I called Dr. Paquette's office to tell them we had changed our mind because the price was too high, they began to bargain with me and tell me they could take an additional $500 off. (What in the World kind of pricing scam is this?) Needless to say, we found a wonderful Orthdontist in Mint Hill (Robinson Orthodontics) and were able to get our braces for 1/2 of what Dr. Paquette was going to charge us. Lesson learned: Make sure you do your homework and shop around. Dr. Paquette is a good orthodontist, however, I will continue to question his pricing tactics. Upfront and honest pricing is the expectation, and unfortunately, this office did not meet our expectation. A business without integrity is a no good business. I was not impressed with service during my treatment. Everytime I went in my time with Dr. Paquette seemed very rushed, like he couldn't move on to the next patient quick enough. Since I came out of treatment I have had my permanent retainer replaced 5 times. I have called to make appointments for this and had to leave several messages and not received call backs. Most recently when I called and someone answered and I advised of not getting returned calls, I was advised this would never happen. Well, it did, several times. I have got my permanent retainer replaced so many times you would think Dr. Paquette would get to the root of the problem but instead they take my money once again, he rushes when he comes over, and has the assistant complete the new retainer without checking behind to see the finshed product, especially with a case like mine having to have this done over and over again.
