Dr Perkins is a D.O. with a vast medical knowledge who has certification in diabetes, cardiology, addiction medicine. Prior to moving to Dr Perkins practice I was seeing numerous specialist for some ongoing medical issues. Dr Perkins has been able to reduce the number of medications I was taking and reduce the number of specialist as well. I am not a fan of the merger with Texas Health at all. I personally was not willing to use the Texas Health Hospitals after a bad personal experience. I have been encouraged to know that Dr Perkins has a long history with Grapevine Baylor and I have been able to continue using them for medical services as the need arises. In the event that I require admission Dr Perkins is no longer on staff with Baylor so I am passed onto one of the hospitalist but it works out. I just give the hospital the name of the hospitalist that Dr Perkins recommended. The staff at Dr Perkins office is very good about faxing over my medical records and alerting the hospitalist that I am being admitted. The office staff is some of the best Medical Assistance I have ever had the opportunity to meet. I have also been very happy with the Physician Assistant, P. Patel. I have multiple health issues and she has definitely impressed me. I have had the opportunity to see her on several occasions and she definitely knows her stuff. I am every bit as comfortable seeing her as I am Dr Perkins. My experiences have always been extremely positive and never have I felt that the care was anything but positive.

These people at Leading Edge Medicine have the most screwed up office staff and billing system I…read morehave ever seen in my entire experience in dealing with healthcare providers. My family has been going to see Dr Perkins for years and we have full insurance coverage and gap coverage, and a decent funded HRA and income, and these people in their office and "billing department" scr*w up every possible way they could in billing their services and dealing with insurance companies. They confuse payments, lose payments, combine one visit services with other visit services and have almost no intelligible audit trail in their billings. Then, because of their in incompetance billing, posting transactions, posting payments, and sending invoices, often the first invoice you get from them is either a "FINAL BILL" or one where they have turned it over to the CSI collection agency (and therefore lose 30%+ of their revenues off the top), and Dr Perkins must apparently eat that loss. I seriously have many instances where the first bill I get from them is from a collection agency. Only with Leading Edge Medicine have I experienced this level of buffonery. Call the office and talk to "Manila" their accounts manager and she is completely lost as well. I have rarely seen a problem in any other healthcare provider as bad as this. I like Dr. Perkins but his support staff is diabolically bad.

You can make an appointment or simply walk in. I was a walk in. I only waited about 5 or 6 minutes in the main waiting room up front. And once I got to the exam room, I waited less than 10 minutes. The mailed results, which I never received, were the only form of correspondence I would have received. Thank God I care enough about my health to follow up. I guess once the claim was filed, I was just another number checked off their "to do" list. Others who attend this facility claim the doctor is "thorough". That may be the case but the staff is so horrendous that none of that really matters. A good doctor's office would follow up and explain the lab results, make sure you were aware of the proper next steps and schedule a follow up....you know, to monitor progress and make sure you got better. A terrible one would take your money, mail you test results that a normal person cannot interpret, and call the job done. You get the picture.

She quickly said "You were supposed to be here at 10:30am." I'm like what time is it now? She stated 10:47am. I asked why 10:30am and she said to complete paperwork. I then said questionably "in addition to me completing it within the patient portal?". Her response was of "I don't know why that's offered, it doesn't work." She gathered the documents and handed them to me but not before saying "quickly fill out....we might have to reschedule you." With a puzzled look on my face, I say you should ask Branden Blanton BEFORE I manually complete this paperwork. She does and returns to say HE CAN'T SEE YOU TODAY. My appointment was at 11am, WTH!!!! She says we're going to reschedule you. I agree and tell her only with Dr. McLeroy. She goes on about completing the paperwork, which begins to frustrate me. I told her to refund my payment made through the patient portal and left. I have never been turned away from any doctor appointments!!!! Would have ENJOYED being her newest patient because of a family referral and patient reviews! UPDATE: Before leaving her office, I told them to refund me. As of today, no refund. Called spoke with Daja asked for billing and before she hung upon me, she said they didn't have a billing department. I called back, Maggie answered and I asked where's my refund?
