I specifically (like the one and only reason) went in for a referral to a chiropractor. I had to make an appointment, pay my co-pay in order to have the doctor come in, ask me what I wanted and said he would send in the prior authorization. He failed to send in the prior authorization to the insurance company. He didn't even chart the notes on my file. He failed to call in a prescription and didn't chart that request either. This incident caused all kinds of havoc with my chiropractor. Max Health gave them fake prior authorization numbers after the chiropractor called Max Health FOUR times trying to get the authorization: 2. The doctor who was listed as my primary care doctor (the screw up from #1) left Max Health yet Max Health still billed my insurance under his name even though he never saw me after that appointment listed in example #1 3. When I called the office manager trying to get the prior authorization back dated to cover my chiropractor appointments not only did they fail with the insurance company but didn't compensate the chiropractor for the services they gave because Max Health assured them there was a prior authorization when there wasn't. This office is a hot mess! From the bookkeeping to the patient care. I will never trust them with my healthcare. I would hate to imagine if I had a serious situation that needed a prior authorization that got screwed up! It could have costs me thousands of dollars! Getting in when you need to be seen right away has become harder since they are part on IntraCare. Making appointments through their call center is painful as they have no sense of the urgency of needing to be seen right away. I suggest you call and ask to speak to a nurse who will help you to get in sooner. The office staff is top notch, friendly and efficient. The take Medicare and help you sign up for coverage.

I would have never known I had several deficiencies and cause for concern because the staff and doctor don't care enough to call. The mailed results, which I never received, were the only form of correspondence I would have received. Thank God I care enough about my health to follow up. I guess once the claim was filed, I was just another number checked off their "to do" list. Others who attend this facility claim the doctor is "thorough". That may be the case but the staff is so horrendous that none of that really matters. A good doctor's office would follow up and explain the lab results, make sure you were aware of the proper next steps and schedule a follow up....you know, to monitor progress and make sure you got better. A terrible one would take your money, mail you test results that a normal person cannot interpret, and call the job done. You get the picture.

The front office may have changed over the years but his office manager has been with him for probably the last 20 years. The nurses are great at returning calls. If Dr. Hogan is booked, the office can usually get you in with his PA or the other Dr. in his practice. When I have been truly sick they have always been able to work me in within a day. I have recommended him to multiple people- Mother-Husband-Coworkers and they are all still patients of his. I would highly recommend Dr. Hogan for your family medical needs.
