I came upon Michelle by pure luck about 5 years ago when I was on a big family trip in O'ahu. Some members of the family suggested we do a family photoshoot while we were there and fortunately they came upon Michelle's site and booked her for a couple hours. She had great, positive energy and was the sweetest person to work with. She knows how to direct you very well without making the experience awkward and is also accommodating to whatever you have in mind for the session. Our family absolutely loved the photos she took and we all soon realized we couldn't just choose 25, and got the whole package of over 200 photos. To this day, they are some of our favorite family photos and have received so many compliments on them. Just recently I was able to reunite with Michelle when she agreed to be our photographer for our proposal/engagement photos! My fiance and family got in touch with her many months prior to coordinate and plan for the special day. She even set up a part of the beach with flowers for the proposal ahead of time so it would be ready when Sean and I arrived. Once I accepted Sean's proposal, he turned me to see Michelle was there the whole time capturing the moment and she was as amazing as I remembered her. Also, she gave the best recommendations for a lei po'o (flower crown) for Sean to buy, which my family gave to me after they were done hiding during the proposal. For a whole hour we took our photos as a couple and family, and it went by so fast with how much fun we had. I really did not think I would be blown away as much as I was when she shared the photos with us, but she somehow topped our family photos from 5 years ago. She truly understands how to capture the right angles and make colors pop. Our photos look exactly how I would have hoped for them to look like: Romantic, heavenly, and timeless. We will always go to her any time we go back to Hawaii for new photos, and recommend her to all of our friends and family. Michelle was the first to respond to my Yelp RFQ for an engagement photography session late on Sunday night and answered all of my questions. The next day she hopped on a call with me to discuss anything further we might have missed. She gave us a list of locations that she hand picked for the photo shoot and recommendations for props and make up and hair. She also sent us a guide on what we may want to wear for the shoot. All of this was very helpful for those beginners to professional photo sessions, which I was. On the day of the shoot, which for us was a holiday, she arrived early to the location and led us to a more secluded spot so that there would be nobody in our shots. She led us to multiple spots in that location with varying backgrounds, that she handpicked, helped us position our hands and legs, and staged the background very well. Michelle was mindful of every single shot that she took and clearly knew what she was doing. She did not hesitate to take more time with her shots if we didn't look the right way or if the wind blew hair the wrong way. She asked if our friends who came along with us on the trip wanted to join our shots, which they happily did.
