Michelle was absolutely delightful to work with! She was always prompt with communication, and so knowledgeable and helpful throughout our planning and our wedding. We felt a great connection with Michelle during our initial meeting when she took us through her portfolio from our venue and helped us put together a timeline for the day of our wedding that would help us take pictures during the "magic hour" for our day. We initially were apprehensive about doing an engagement shoot, but Michelle encouraged us to do one, and we were so happy that we did! Michelle's pictures were amazing, and she really helped capture us and our personalities. Michelle turned around our engagement pictures so quickly, and they made us even more excited for the wedding! Leading up to the wedding, Michelle helped us solidify our details including contingency plans for our outside pictures in case of inclement weather. Even though Michelle was out shooting a destination wedding the week before our wedding, she was still great about prompt communication. The day of the wedding Michelle and Robyn were both on time and helped us keep on schedule. We had crazy weather the day of (rain! sun! snow!), and they were great about making game time decisions with us about where to take photos. This review is long overdue as my wedding was in May of this year. Michelle did both my engagement photos and wedding photos. I was extremely happy with both. My husband and I loved going through all the photos and both our families were excited to see the finished product. I think the best thing about Michelle's work is that when going through our wedding photos I saw how many little moments she captured without me even realizing she was there (my friends and I laughing at an inside joke, my brother-in-law and I hugging one another in the background of a shot, my mother-in-law straightening the bow tie of the best man). All those little moments that are so sweet and tender and are truly invaluable when captured. And she and her assistant (Maddie) are truly neither here nor there (in a good way!). Never once did I realize they were capturing these moments because they aren't like some photographers where you are constantly being asked to pose for photos or you can see the lens mere inches from your face. Aside from the great finished end product, Michelle is incredibly professional. She is quick to respond to emails/calls. She will help you figure out a schedule and timeline for the wedding day. I didn't really know what I was doing and she was very patient in explaining the best way to get the photos we wanted to and still enjoy the day. Worth every penny. Last January, my 12- and 13-year-old pups began to have health issues, and I decided I wanted to get some professional photos of them. I investigated a few photographers, but Michelle had a special for senior dogs, so I contacted her. I'm so very grateful I did... I should have known that anyone who offered a special for portraits of senior pups would be an amazing human with a compassionate heart. We met Michelle and Robyn at the beach in Rogers Park a few weeks later on an unusually warm February afternoon. They were so patient and sweet with my dogs and ended up capturing some of the most beautiful photos that truly reflected the different personalities of each pup with gorgeous backgrounds and lighting.... I'm still in awe of the talent these women have to artfully compose photographs with [at times] uncooperative subjects! We said goodbye to sweet Gully in May and Satchel a few days ago... and I am so thankful I decided to order all the photographs. I will treasure them as they remind me of the wonderful years I got to spend with my little buddies. If you're on the fence about pet photography, I understand. I thought it was a bit silly too. Michelle took our wedding photos this past December, and they turned out AMAZING!!!!! We were very excited when Michelle was recommended to us because her site showed how she was great at the candid photos as well as posed family photos. We were really looking for someone who could catch the small moments as the night went along, and that was exactly what we got. When looking though our final photos Michelle caught pieces of the night that we never even saw. It had rained that morning and we were a little worried about the outside photos but Michelle urged us to take a try and we are so glad that we did. Those were the best from our night! It was also a little foggy and rainy when we took our engagement photos, but they still turned out amazing. Through the entire process Michelle was very responsive, encouraging, accommodating and willing to work with whatever we were looking for. Michelle was wonderful to work with and made sure that we had excellent photos on our wedding day. One of the best things about her is that she has a no nonsense approach which was refreshing after courting other photographers for the job. She didn't upsell her services and made it very clear that what we were paying for was what we were going to get. We got an included engagement session 3 months before the wedding to get us acclimated to getting our pictures taken and they were presented to us within a week. The day of the wedding, Michelle and her assistant arrived on time and ready to work. We were really surprised at her drive at first, but soon came to appreciate the no bullshit approach to the day. If she had been wishy washy and let us walk over her, we would have missed the wedding date. The pictures were touched up minimally and we were treated to the hosted digital photos within 3 weeks of the wedding date. I'm so excited to write this review! About a month or so ago my boyfriend told me he wanted to have photos taken of our French Bulldog, Emma. I was onboard right away so Michelle showed up to our apartment this past Saturday around 11:30. She took a handful of photos of Emma at home and then we headed down to the Evanston dog beach. It was really cold out but my boyfriend was pretty adamant about getting photos of Emma down at the beach. About 15 minutes into the photo session on the beach Michelle suggested we get in some photos with Emma. My boyfriend and I got down on Emma's level and then a few minutes after he told me to stand up while he stayed down on one knee...at this point I knew what was coming :) From this point on our time at the beach was somewhat of a blur for me and I'm so thankful Michelle was there snapping beautiful pictures to remember our special engagement! The photos of both Emma and my boyfriend, now fiancé :) and I are gorgeous! We have so many favorite pictures from the day and if we end up having our wedding in Chicago we'll definitely be calling Michelle! read more

Whooo! My wife and I hired Michelle and Robin as our wedding photographers, and we couldn't be happier with how things turned out. Michelle is a consummate professional, and from our first meeting we had our utmost confidence in her ability to make things run smoothly. She was able to communicate exactly how she planned on doing things (it helped that she had worked at our venue many times previously), and then she carried through doing it! So logistics gets an A+. Of course, there's the photos. She shot a beautiful set of engagement photos for us this past fall, so going into the wedding day we were confident that everything would go smoothly and turn out gorgeous. No surprise, they did. A few other points worth raising: first, the price is very reasonable. Also, unlike some other photographers, Michelle's wedding photo package includes full rights to the originals, so there's no hidden "catch" after the fact - the photos are yours to do whatever you want with them. The best advice I got when wedding planning was "don't skimp when it comes to photographers." As an older bride, I was planning my wedding on a tight budget and went as far as to consider buying a groupon for a wedding photographer. I am so glad I didn't! I visited yelp and spoke to a few photographers I found here. When we met with Michelle, though, we both knew right away we wanted to work with her. We didn't want a bunch of posed photos-we wanted more of a photo journal of our day. Michelle and her assistant are extremely easy to work with. I hired Michelle to take a pet portrait of my parent's dog for a Christmas gift. She is incredibly creative and fun to work with.
