There's almost never a long wait to be seen which is great, and getting an appointment quickly was never a major issue with them. Sadly, Sutter decided to stop taking Medi-Cal which is health insurance for people Who don't make above 1500 a month or something. That's a shame because many people really need decent health insurance, and Sutter doesn't want to be a part of being on the right side of history in that regard. Medi-Cal no longer excepted. But When I had Sutter I thought that Shannon Becker was a pretty decent doctor. She listened to my concerns and addressed them accordingly, she was willing to allow me to experiment with different kinds of meds if what I was taking wasn't helping. She was even willing to attempt to attain medications for me that she did not believe we're covered on my plan, she was willing to at least try for me as a courtesy. One issue I have with most doctors, and I had here, was that they want to try every med imaginable for certain issues except for the ones that they know to be effective, yes I'm talking about controlled substances. I have high anxiety not depression, they were very insistent on making me try every depression med available when none of them did me any good. Never once did they offer me any meds that were for people like me with High anxiety and panic disorder. I know most doctors have been given the orders to be very stringent about giving out certain kinds of medications, I get that, but I have a history of 5+ years of having anxiety, taking meds they prescribed, and none of it working. I have finally now found a clinic doctor that gives me the meds that I've been needing for years now, and my life is completely different. I was disappointed I lost them as my health provider, but at this point I'd rather go to a clinic and get the meds I need that is maybe not as nice, with longer wait times and less appointments available than go somewhere my medical needs are not being met.

This new location, is also a brand new building over in the Arden/Cal expo area. It's literally right down the street from costco, and wedge between a state department building and other medical buildings. The Urgent Care moved from their old location on Alhambra, along with some other Sutter clinics into the brand new building. Urgent Care can be rather tricky. It's pretty much walk-in and sit and wait. Timing is everything. The seating area is oddly shaped, but plenty of spacious. The patient rooms are kind of cool. They have those sliding barn doors, and the rooms are bigger than they were at the old location. I was pretty much in and out in under an hour, which is pretty amazing! Dr. David was great; he had a great bedside manner, and took care of me and my head cold perfectly. There's plenty of free parking, which wasn't available at the old location. They've only been open for six months, and it really is a lovely facility

It seems she may have somewhat limited availability, but the clinic offers alternate provider appointments, earlier appointment notifications, and an urgent care onsite. I don't think it is technically fair to rate a provider based on the parking at the location. Since switching to Dr. Fine I have never had to park longer than an hour for my treatment.

She is a fine person, but I am so disappointed in her failure to refer me to an adequate specialist. I have suffered with endocrine related issues for years that have wreaked havoc on my life in so many ways. Two years ago I begged for her to write me a referral to endocrinology, and I even had a letter from a separate medical doctor who was advocating on my behalf. She said that endocrinology couldn't help me and I was devestated. Well, now it's two years later and I have gotten a lot worse. I have new symptoms too, which drove me back to the doctor (a different PCP - not Dr Freeman) who actually ran some tests on me and found some issues related to my thyroid and sent me an urgent referral to endocrinology. I'm hoping I can get my issues sorted out soon, but I've already lost so much. I've continued to deteriorate, which has cost me -- financially, physically, and emotionally. It has damaged my reputation at work and my relationships with friends - I'm now seen as the flakey person who is unreliable because of my health. I've spent so much money on treatments that haven't worked, and have tried over the counter supplements, out-of-network doctors, ANYTHING to try to get relief, to no avail. I've also had to take so many days off work that it has maxed out my PTO, so I have to go without pay if I need to take anytime off for additional sickness or appointments. And I am still sick -- suffering different symptoms every day, and waking up in the middle of the night because of them. I've had a lot of dark thoughts and feel hopeless. I'm disappointed that Dr. Freeman couldn't refer me two years ago and I think my life would be different right now if she had done so. I hope that this experience will change her attitude going forward. Not every patient is lying about their symptoms or faking it.

The drive is about half an hour for me but totally worth the drive! She is the best primary care physician ever! She is very patient, friendly, nice, sweet and very professional. Most importantly, she listens to my all concerns and always provides clear instructions or recommendations. I meet with her at least once a year for my annual checkup and for my flu shot. Whenever I see her, she is always smiling. She doesn't judge her patients. She treats all her patient with respects. I would totally recommend her to everyone I know. But of course it depends if she accepts new patients or not :). All the medical assistants and staffs in the office are all super nice as well. If you need lab works after seeing Dr Herbelin-Farrar, there is a clinic down the hall. Super convenient!
