She's a pro for this What bothered me the most is she didn't mention she had a minimum until after she did my trial. It's not on her website and not in the informational email. In order to meet the minimum, we decided to add my mom and MIL into the schedule but this ended up changing our whole timeline for the morning at the last minute and, I had to wake up way earlier than I planned since she said it would take too long to set up at the Airbnb they were at, but OK. I did a trial with her a week before my wedding and the teasing really damaged my hair, I could barely brush it. My hair looked great during the first look, but it really didn't hold, and even by the ceremony it was falling out. Similarly, my MIL also had curls done and I noticed it didn't hold up either. Lastly, she overslept my trial (which she was very apologetic for). She offered a small discount, but I didn't really feel like it compensated for me taking the day off, spending a whole day driving to San Jose, waiting an hour, driving back, and then rescheduling. She was about 15 minutes late arriving to our venue, but it didn't end up setting our schedule back.

I highly recommend booking a preview session to try out different looks and hairdos. I thought I was set on one kind of bun for my ceremony but during the preview, Ann did a few buns on me and took pictures for me to think on. I chose a bun look that I didn't even know existed (especially since I'm not a big hair/makeup girly). For the makeup, I went with a softer look because I don't love seeing really big bold red colors on myself. I appreciate that Ann took my preferences into consideration. She also took the time to see how these looks would photograph and adjusted accordingly! We also worked on another hairdo for the reception. Both salons in Half Moon Bay don't have great reputations for this and the other options I found didn't suit my needs. I am fairly low maintenance and not really into a lot of make-up or uptight salons, etc. I wanted someone who could make me look pretty (but in a natural way) - then I saw Mina's website and fell in like and after talking to her on the phone, booked my trial. She is AMAZING. I just let her do her thing and both my hair and make-up were awesome. I never thought I was the kind of girl who could wear fake eyelashes (I am pretty low maintenance) but she applied them one by one and it really made my eyes pop. She is SO relaxed (and adorable), but on top of what she's doing and WAY more affordable than so many other hair and make-up artists. She does both (not super tricky hairstyles - but more natural ones) and besides being the bride, got a zillion compliments on my hair and make-up which I know were genuine.
