I cannot recommend Dr. Nguyen enough! She is hands down the best GI doctor I've ever seen. After years of being dismissed by other doctors, she took my symptoms seriously and finally diagnosed my SIBO. When my insurance wouldn't cover my medication--which would have cost thousands of dollars--she went above and beyond to help me get it for free. My friend referred me to see Dr Nguyen for my colonoscopy procedure. I called the office for an appointment and was scheduled a couple weeks later. The Los Gatos office is very clean and i was able to meet her on time as scheduled. She is extremely nice and very detailed in explaining the procedure and how/what to prepare for my next appointment for the colonoscopy. The staff there were also very nice as well. read more

I am a representative in the GI space. As a result, I had the benefits of knowing what to do to prep for the colonoscopy in terms of what food to avoid, such as on liquid diet and food to avoid etc---even though the office had sent me a copy of what to do to prep. As a result, I felt less stress in the prep compared to perhaps those who don't have the experiences. I was supposed to have the procedure done in 2021 but waited until May 2024 to get it done. There was an option to go with San Jose GI, but decided to stay with Dr Nguyen because I believe in her experiences and skills. I was right, On procedure day, I was in for about 20 minutes to 30 minutes. everything was done. I did not feel anything after the anesthesia. It only took about 30 to 40 minutes. I was done for the day. No effects whatsoever after that. read more

I did some research and decided to set an appt with Mr Michelle Nguyen to gain a second opinion of the treatment plan I had received from another doctor. Her receives were good and she seemed detailed and thorough. When I called to make my appt I told the office I wanted to meet with Dr Michelle Nguyen and get a second opinion. I had to wait approx 4 week for this appt. As it turns out, I was scheduled with someone else. I told them I wanted to meet with Dr Nguyen . She asked me what questions I had for the doctor, I told her I wanted a second opinion on my care plan. She went to meet with the doctor and came back and told me that I could schedule a meeting to meet with Dr Nguyen in AUGUST!!! I took the time to get fully prepared so I would not waste the doctor's time and so I could be succinct in my summary. I gathered lab test results and wrote up a summary of the events for the last year, noting any significant milestones. I showed up 15 minutes early per their request. And it all turned out to be a total waste of my time. I had to miss an important meeting that was rescheduled on the same day of this doctor appt. I also spent time filling out my medical history etc. I was extremely disappoint and mad that this all turned out to be a total waste of my time. I will not be going back to this office. read more

I went to see Dr Nguyen at a recommendation of my doctor after mentioning I think I should get checked out. I have a family hx of colon CA and some stomach issues and at 40 was able to get my first colonoscopy, and pretty quickly. She did find a potential precancerous polyp and removed it. The office was friendly the wait there was short and she had a great bedside manner. Yes we share a name which was funny to Make the appointment but are not related at all. lol. Her office is busy though so make an appt a couple months before you plan on coming in. That's the sign of a good doctor so I didn't mind waiting some to see her. I'm happy she was receptive to me getting the screening early and now I don't need to wait and worry for what could have potentially become cancer had I waited until 45. I'm not sure what told me to go in now but glad I listened. read more

I have known Dr. Nguyen since she started her first practice after graduating from Stanford some 20 years ago. I was diagnosed with a life-threatening disease and she saw me through a very difficult time. I'm happy to say that the disease has been cured. She moved from Santa Cruz up to Palo Alto and worked there for a few years and when I was in need of a doctor I trusted above all others I traveled to Palo Alto. Out of the five voicemails over six weeks and one time speaking with a staff member I can't get anyone in the office to call me back or answer the phone. There's not enough words to express how grateful I am to have Dr. Michelle Nguyen in my life. I went to a doctor a year before I saw Dr. Nguyen and he prescribed me PPIs for my heartburn and told me to take them forever and that was it. A year later, my tummy was getting worse and I spent a long time researching what doctor would be a good fit for me. Thankfully I found Dr. Nguyen! My visits have been virtual, but I'm also very fearful of the pandemic and they were very understanding. She has never been late to a call either! It has been a journey with her, but a very pleasant one. A year after seeing her, I hardly have any heartburn and I am no longer on PPIs! I am currently being treated for SIBO and the antibiotics did not work, but she prescribed me a more natural route and it's been working! She will also back up everything she is informing you with medical journals and she is more than willing to send them to you if it interests you. I also asked for tests that she didn't offer and she was happy to provide them to me. If you always wished your big sister was a doctor, Dr. Nyugen is that person for you. She once even told me, "If you were my sister, I would tell you not to do it." On top of being my gastroenterologist, she also helped me during a time where I could not get my PCP to help me understand some blood work I received. I reached out to Dr. Nguyen for some guidance on what specialist I should reach out to and if she had any referrals. This had nothing to do with my stomach, but I knew Dr. Nguyen cared about me and I trusted her. She messaged me in less than an hour with what specialist I would need to see and referrals to both the specialist and a new PCP. She didn't have to do that, but she did because she cares!!!!! I was so relieved that someone was willing to help me when I felt so lost trying to navigate the medical system. I can't say enough about Dr. Nguyen and how much she means to me. Without her there would have been many times where I would have been crying and left alone to feel helpless and confused. This review is for the office visit. First of all the staff is very efficient and I did not have wait too long. Tina is great trying to contact me several times to make the appointment for my Colonoscopy. Overall, front staff is excellent, polite and professional. As for Dr Michelle Nguyen, she is very professional and soft spoken, reminds me of my good friend who is in the same field. I was in and out within 30 minutes. The only problem with Insite group is to get a hold of someone, it takes a while to have a live person answer the call. This is a battle if one has a limited time to get a hold of something. My first office visit with Dr. Nguyen in 9/20/2021 was impressive and satisfied, she and her team deserve 5 star rating and beyond. Allow me to point out few highlights below. The appointment reminder system works well. For two month appointment, multiple reminders are appreciated. Waiting room is nice and clean, it has air filter, sanitizers, masks, and humidifier (I have dry eye). I only saw one patient in waiting room at a time and appointment was prompt. The Check-in staff is super friendly and said that I can take those medical forms to the (diagnosis) room continue filling the forms, his nature gentle manner impressed me. Dr. Nguyen spent time explaining my digestive system issues, she showed me symptoms in different scenario images and recommended to run some tests. She is friendly, detail, caring, and professional. She was graduated from University of Michigan Medical School which is a high rank medical school in US. I feel lucky to see Dr. Nguyen, it's worth 2 month wait time. The Check-out staff booked the test appointment for me and reminded me when to check back the co-pay and to confirm the appointment with. Dr. Nguyen is terrific! She is very compassionate to all of her patients and has a great bedside manner. Talking about your digestive health can be embarrassing at times, but Dr. Nguyen is always open to listening to you in a nonjudgmental environment. The great thing about her is that her schedule is a lot more open compared to a lot of Bay Area doctors (I got my appointment within a week while other gastroenterologists couldn't book me for another two months!) Dr Michelle Nguyen is an amazing doctor. I have been under her care for the last 12 years. She always treats me with care and with kindness. She does a very thorough examination, she addressed all my questions, explain my health problems with a clear answer.
