I should know, I've been yelled at by her a few times for being (willfully) non-compliant w/my meds, appts, etc. I can't blame her given my diabetic condition & how it can quickly cascade into something serious (like heart failure) if left unchecked. Most doctors have this "meh, it's up to you what you do to yourself" attitude. Clearly, Dr. Patel is not one of them. She's also very thorough. She leaves no stone unturned (she'll do an EKG, order X-ray etc). Perhaps due to her thoroughness, she takes a holistic approach, so she will ask for records from your other doctors, opticians, physical therapy etc. Best of all, despite of her hectic schedule (it was much worse before, when her staff routinely overbooks her), in addition to the questions directly related to our illness/condition, she has always managed to take the time to ask: "How are you doing?" A doctor who actually cares. What a novel concept!

Then I made an appointment to come in. Btw, Dr. Ali was very pleasant person, and had good bedside manner. I verified with front desk before I left that everything was paid for now, and she said yes. Later, I get a bill of 250 dollars. [She billed me for a special type of office visit $457 instead of regular office visit. even after insurance covering for half, I am charged with 250 dollars) Its a bad practice. I work in healthcare field, this is not acceptable. Its wrong to practice like this. I would not have came in to this office if I knew their billing department is horribly messed up.
