My husband and I looked at tons of photographers when we were booking venders for our wedding at the Lyman. I sent him the link to Michelle's site because I knew he'd love that she offers photographs in on film as well as digital. We both loved the artistic choices she made in some of the wedding pictures in her galleries. Her prices are incredibly reasonable, and the finished products that I've seen are just beautiful. My wife and I feel really thankful that we found Michelle online and decided to go for her as our wedding and engagement photographer. We found her more than a year before our wedding date. She was very accommodating, even though we were planning our event from overseas, and we wouldn't even be in Boston until the week before. You know you're an adult when you're having professional photos taken and you're not wearing matching holiday sweaters with your family members. If you haven't noticed having really beautiful photos taken of yourself, significant other, pets, family, etc. is really "in" right now and not the ones you have taken at a mall. Show off by having a portrait taken in your favorite places not in front of a marbled backdrop in the mall. Before having the photos taken, the photographer, my boyfriend and I sent a series of emails back and forth trying to hammer out the exact details. I love that Michelle took the time to talk to us about clothing and how clothing can read in a photograph. For example, she suggested wearing 3/4 or long sleeves as they can be more forgiving. The photographer (Michelle) wasn't pushy and didn't force us to pose in ways we weren't comfortable. My boyfriend and I don't hold the title for most PDA of year so Michelle had us pose in ways that conveyed our connection without forcing us to smooch in every shot. There was a balance between direction and allowing us simply to be ourselves. Equally important to us, there were some goofy photos that show off our carefree sides. And yes, there were plenty of portraits that Mom would like too! Purchasing photos was made very easy (and affordable), which is always important. You will not be stuck with a series of proofs or feel like you are being charged an arm and a leg for the photos. read more

We got married on Cape Cod in November. We asked around for a good photographer and found Michelle through a family connection. The packages she offered made sense for the price, and her portfolio was beautiful, so we went with her. On the day itself, we were as stressed out as you'd expect. As soon as she showed up, she had the situation perfectly in hand. She guided us through a checklist of photos--bride and groom, bride + bride's family, groom + siblings, etc., etc.,-- that we'd later be glad to have, even though at the time we were too distracted to think of them. After the pictures but before the ceremony, she hung out in the bridal suite with us while family fussed over the bride and unobtrusively captured lots of tender moments, as well as a few thoughtful shots of the rings, floral arrangements, etc. We did have that family connection with her, but I think even if we hadn't, we would have felt really happy to have her in that moment--she's warm, enthusiastic, funny and personable. At the ceremony, nobody noticed her, but she very thoroughly documented the whole thing. Looking at the photos later, it's clear that she paid special attention to the moments when people went off script and their personalities came through. She also covered a little of the dinner (although we insisted that she take a little time to eat and relax after the work she'd already put in), getting great shots of the speeches, and got about an hour of the reception as well (which was all we'd asked her to do). Most importantly, when we got the photos a week or two later, they were stunning. We're looking at them as we write this, and are feeling happy all over again about the moment, and the really excellent work Michelle did. We couldn't recommend her more highly. read more

Okay so I definitely needed to write a review on Michelle because she is soo awesome and as thorough as it gets! My fiance and I just got our high resolution photos from Michelle in the mail yesterday and I was BLOWN AWAY and not just by the photos. You can tell Michelle is a thoughtful person and cares about her clients. She sent us the USB of our session in the lovely gift box with the hand written card about how much she enjoyed working with us, and the feeling was soo mutual! Okay so to give you an idea of how awesome of our photo session was, here's the scoop. Michelle and I corresponded over email for about a week brainstorming different shots we would go for. My fiance and I wanted to really capture our boston life together, since we love this city, and Michelle was totally down for all our ideas. She was punctual and took no time to set up her camera to get to shooting. We chatted and laughed about the Redskins, Beyonce, this and that, all the while she was capturing our laughs and those moments when we really look in love lol. We went to a couple different locations and even had a wardrobe change, which really made our session worthwhile. The total engagement session was about 2.5 hours and it only took her a week and a half to get us the edited pictures back (RECORD TIME!) We are definitely booking her for our wedding and can't wait to see the photos from then. Her prices are super fair and her work is worth it!
