My experience with Steph was wonderful. We bounced our ideas off each other well in advance of the photo-shoot and kept in contact right up until the day of the shoot. She was very professional with me and welcomed any idea I had which made me feel like I was a part of the process, not a client who had to take direction and only do her ideas; that is not who she is at all. Steph is extremely creative and you can tell she has a passion for what she does. This dedication and enthusiasm made for a very relaxed, fun, productive photo-shoot. She was great with my daughter, who was around 10 months at the time. Even when she peed on steph's backdrops (we were doing mother-daughter pictures and my daughter was in the buff), she just laughed it off, which in turn made me very relaxed because at the moment I was highly embarrassed about that happening. She was very patient with us and I cannot stress enough to you how throughout the entire process she made me feel completely comfortable and at ease. She has an eye for detail and a great sense of how to pose someone so that the light (indoors or natural light) can shine on them in just the right way. She's very relaxed but also knows how to direct someone so that you can use your time for efficiently, and she also knows how stressful it can be to do a photo-shoot. She explained this to me well in advance of the shoot so that I had a realistic idea about how much time I would want to spend, so we could get the optimum number of shots in plus the best quality etc. Steph does a wide range of photos: weddings, maternity, family portraits, outdoor shots, celebrities, big time functions, etc. You name it, she does it. Each and every time, her pictures come out fantastic and flawless. Her talent amazes me and her skills and effort are very evident in the pictures she has taken. Friends and family have fallen in love with her work, (which I have framed and hung up in my house) and think the pictures are just beautiful. I recommend her every time. Her rates are affordable and you could say to yourself "well i can go to a portrait studio in the mall and get a lot for that price" well my answer to that is.. you could, but why would you want to?? You will not get the same quality that Steph produces. i personally have taken my daughter to a portrait studio well after Steph had done our photos and with me I brought my knowledge of things Steph shared with me, what poses she used, action shots, etc.. but still, the quality couldn't compare. Steph raised the bar high for me as far as photography goes, and every professional picture I've had since hers just doesn't compare. Steph Stevens is a true find in the photography world. My fiance and I had been looking for a photographer for our wedding for several months, and were incredibly fortunate to have found her. Steph is a true professional in every sense of the word, and as an added extra, has a wonderfully positive, upbeat personality, and is incredibly creative in her work. We had a pre-wedding shoot in which we got accustomed to her style and she got a great sense of what we were looking for in our wedding photos, and it showed in both the pre-wedding shoot and the wedding itself. She took the time necessary to get a deeper sense for our individual preferences than one would expect. Prior to the wedding, not only did she see the venue with us to get a sense of what was available at the facility and in the surrounding area, but she went hiking with us in the area to scope out additional photo opportunities! During the wedding itself, she was always available, and at the same time, invisible. She is exceptionally creative and it showed in all of the work that she had done for us. We had our wedding and reception just as Hurricane Irene was making its presence known, and had a wide variety of weather conditions with which she made extraordinary use of. Her work is spectacular, creative, delivered far more timely than we would have expected, and very creatively formatted. Many people have seen our photos and thought they were exceptional, very creative, and not standard run of the mill wedding photos. To accent the quality of her work, she has a very engaging personality which is extremely infectious, and puts you at ease with every step of the process. She makes significant effort to acquaint herself with your style and find what you are looking for, and then augments this with her creativity. She takes the time to provide an incredibly high caliber product. Additionally, the cost was very competitive, and in most cases, better than that of most of her competitors. After the experience we had with Steph, we would HIGHLY recommend her and we will continue to use her for any and all photography needs in the future, as well as recommend her to anyone in need of a photographer. Steph Stevens is as good of a photographer as you can ask for. Between her high level of professionalism, her positive attitude, and her desire to meld a client's desires with her creativity, she makes photo shoots fun and unstressful. Additionally, her love for her craft is evident. In my experiences working with her, I have found that she has an eye for details and for getting just the right shot; she knows what to look for when posing her clients and gives great directions, thus reducing the need for multiple shots that may otherwise only serve to stress out the client. Steph has a wide range of photography experience to her credit, ranging from the more common, such as weddings, pregnancy photos, and portraits and corporate headshots; to the more exotic, such as shooting celebrities, corporate events, whitewater rafting and sports events, commercial ventures, and red-carpet galas. Despite this impressive portfolio, Steph's rates are affordably competitive. As someone who has myriad friends getting married, I can attest to the importance of knowing that an excellent photographer is within one's price range. Having worked with Steph on a few occasions now for modeling photos and headshots, and having recommended her to friends and seen their delight with her work, I can attest to Steph's excellence. Fully understanding that this review could turn into a novel, I will do my best to keep it brief. Simply put: I COULD NOT HAVE IMAGINED MY WEDDING WITHOUT STEPHANIE. Although I currently live in CA, my husband and I are from MA and got married in Belmont in June 2011. Trying to plan a wedding is tough enough, but trying to do it from 3,000 miles away was really tough, and I knew I would not be able to meet most of my vendors until the week preceding the wedding. So, where to start? Yelp, of course. I found a handful of photographers that looked interesting, and after going through websites, pricing, etc., I pretty much had picked Steph. But, to be diligent, I set up a call with her, and we spoke for about an hour. She happily gave me the contact information for several references, all of whom I called. If my conversation with her wasn't enough to convince me that she was the right photog, the *g-l-o-w-i-n-g* recommendations from her references nailed it home. Every person I spoke to said "You cannot have your wedding without her." Everything about Stephanie is beyond expectations. As a person, she is kind, pleasant, understanding, thoughtful, funny, and bright. As a photographer, she is creative, adaptable, quick, and reliable. Steph was the photographer for my wedding in October, 2009. We were extremely discouraged before meeting Steph as 2 other photographers had not called us back and/or booked our date, but did not confirm with us. Two Months before our wedding we recieved a reccomendation about her work and are thankful that we did! Not only did she spend several hours getting to know us before the wedding, via email, phone calls and a face to face interview where we completed a questionnare, she also made efforts to incorporate our personalities into our photos. She was felxible and was willing to stay later at our wedding to make sure that all of our important activites, i.e.bouqet toss, dollar dance, etc. was captured. She allowed us to have our creativity and meshed it with hers. We look at our photos now and smile and each time people see our photos they ask who our photographer was and we reccomend steph whole heartedly and have booked her for other events. She also has been extraordinarily accesible after our wedding when we wanted to order prints, ask questions about prints and was willing to make a video of our day out of the images. We were fortunate to meet steph and are eccastic that we choose her to capture the memories of our special day, there were no moments that we look back on and say, "why isnt there a picutre" she was simply everywhere, and captured it all! read more

If I could give Steph 10 starts, I would. The whole experience with her was amazing. My husband and I chose Steph as our wedding photographer, less than a month away from the wedding date (we had to move our wedding up due to professional reasons) and she gave us several package options, depending on what we had time to fit in. Once we finalized our wedding day, Steph finalized the package price. She was easy to contact throughout the process, as well and thinking of anything that might come up picture-wise. She was everywhere during the event without intruding moments and was quick to share the pictures with my husband and I. My friends and family also noted how amazing she was throughout the day, and I couldn't imagine a better photographer for any special event or not. Every photo I have seen, I am in love with, and I plan to save up to print an entire album, because she works ridiculously hard to capture every moment, and I want high-quality prints to save forever. Steph also is so easy-going during photos, so I never felt like I had to fake a smile. My husband is not as photogenic as I am, and even he said that the whole day felt so easy to smile and have a good time. She has a way of making everyone comfortable in front of a camera. Steph is a phenomenal photographer. I went to her looking to take casual/professional shots that I could use in my social-media-focused job. We started by brainstorming ideas - I was impressed that she was able to take my preference for a few sample images and create into beautiful, unique photos that fit my personality perfectly. Steph was absolutely amazing. Extremely professional, and A LOT of fun to work with. She made everyone in the wedding party and family very comfortable while staying on task. The first time Steph Stevens took pictures for me, she was redoing my wedding portraits that were done by another photographer. I still regret not having her shoot my actual wedding. Unlike our original photographer, she took the time to get to know us so that she could capture who we are, rather than just taking the typical "wedding" photos that don't really reflect anyone. She seemed invested in getting the perfect shot for us. We spent an entire day running around in wedding attire finding fun backgrounds and different poses. She had no problem playing in a leaf pile with us, or climbing to the top of a parking garage to get the right light. The day felt more like a "date" for us, she just followed along and captured it. We were so impressed with Steph's creativity and professionalism. She has obviously taken the time to hone her skills and become the best in her field. This is the 2nd time I called on her to take some professional head shots for me and this time around we got to have some fun and take some more casual shots and I loved all of them so much that it was nearly impossible to decide which ones I wanted to use professionally. I really wanted Steph to do the photos for our newborn because we loved the photos she had taken at my best friends wedding. The newborn/family photos she took for us were better than we could have hoped for. Steph took so much time and care in every shot she did, and we actually had a lot of fun. Our in home session was not rushed whatsoever, she spent so much time with us to make sure we got every shot we imagined and we had lots of time to change diapers and outfits and nurse when needed. She had SO many great ideas and she has such a creative eye, every single shot was so beautiful. I booked Steph for a family photo shoot at Christmas. Some of my family was none too thrilled to hear that it was their Christmas gift, but once Steph arrived and started shooting they had a ball!
