We have been seeing Dr To since my son was 2 - so it's been a good 9 years. We LOVE LOVE LOVE the entire staff here. They are always accommodating and their offices are up to date, clean and they make sure there are plenty of activities for the kids - right down to the tv screens above each chair playing the latest Disney movie. I've been going here for a long time. Dr. Lily is great. It's a great place to visit if you don't have any issues. If you have to deal with scheduling or billing issues, you will have a horrible time dealing with the front staff. Or if your kid has any teeth issue, you will have be billed for every little thing esp. asking a question re a cavity. When I wanted to ask how big is my kid's cavity, they told me to schedule a teledentisry appt where I need to pay to ask that question. I was so upset i told them that is ridiculous and if they can't let me ask that question, I would stop coming back. They said "ok, you have to do what you need to do." After years of dealing with this front staff being rude, I'm looking for another dentist now for my 3 kids. I can't handle this disrespectfulness any more. read more

Wow! In a word describes the experience we had here! As a new patient, I called to schedule an appointment for my daughter and the office staff were friendly, patient and thorough. She explained that the forms were available online which would speed up the check in process. From start to finish the experience was wonderful, the office park has it's own private parking lot in the rear of the building. Once you enter the second floor office you are immersed in an underwater land. The actual dental exam was in an open area exam space that is complete with flat screens on the walls and ceilings to keep young minds occupied. The dentist was great, she explained all of the procedures to my daughter who is 13 which I think helped to keep her calm. I love it here and would recommend it to everyone! read more

My son has been seeing the dentists in this office for six years, and they have been great. The dentists and assistants are wonderful, and the office set-up is extremely kid friendly. Four stars instead of five for billing. We were overcharged on our recent visit. I would not have known had I not taken a closer look at the paperwork from our insurance company. When I called the dentist's office, they confirmed they had overcharged me and that we had a "credit"-- What the hell do I need a credit for at the dentist's office? Who gave them permission to hold on to my money for me? Nobody, that's who. I insisted on a refund and they said they would credit back what they owe to my credit card. It wasn't a large amount of money, but it is quite unethical to overcharge people and then hold their money for a "credit" that may or may not get used a year from now. This needs to be fixed ASAP. read more

Total Incompetence from the top down. The aides appeared to be high schoolers shooting X-ray after X-ray hoping to get an acceptable picture. One not exactly knowing what to do, asking another for help. The biggest issue was with our (then) 6 year old. They did four cavity fillings all at once. At the next checkup we were told the fillings weren't sealed correctly. One of them at risk for a root canal or extraction! We were told ours was not the only case like ours. All performed by the same dentist. I have no idea is she continues to work there or not. We were also told to wait and see. We were not going to go back there again. Fast forward 12 months, our new pediatric dentist was shocked by what she saw. She couldn't believe any dentist would not have fixed the mistake when it was found. It was pure economics, didn't want to admit to screwing up our child's teeth. Yes, the dolphin in the waiting room is cute and the TVs on the ceilings are a great idea. Unfortunately, their actual dentistry skills are so heinous they should have their licenses revoked. You have been warned! read more

Dr. Michelle To is so personable and sweet with my kids. She is a wonderful dentist. She's always patient about answering questions. I also had a concern about radiation and unnecessary x-rays and she was very willing to accommodate my desire to hold off on some x-rays. Also, we discussed how the x-ray machine they use has very low radiation and we get much more radiation from other sources. I highly recommend Dr. To and her staff. read more

Very professional, clean and fun for children with TVs visible from every station. They are also fast and efficient. My son is on the spectum and needs a calm environment to avoid excess anxiety. He has been coming here since he was very young and we have never had an "episode" He is now almost 12. It is truly the best place for kids. I highly recommend it. read more

I contacted a previous reviewer about see Dr. Lily Chung. Against the other reviewer's advice I decided to keep my consultation appointment. I would advise to get a second, third or even fourth opinion BEFORE you do ANY work at this dental office. First, Dr. Lily Chung said there was nothing at that time she could do for my son's teeth without pulling the teeth or putting him in pain and strapping him on a board. I took him to another pediatric dental office and their wonderful dentist sanded out the discoloration and filled them in 5 minutes with no sedation, etc. and NO problem except some crying and screaming for the short time. Dr. Lily Chung said the work would take 1 hour and he would be bound to a "board". SHE EVEN SUGGESTED PULLING THE TEETH. Second, Dr. Lily Chung sold us some highly concentrated fluoride toothpaste which I was told by two (2) other dentists NOT to use as it was too toxic. Third, Dr. Lily Chung informed me that the tooth damage was exclusively from breastfeeding. That is totally ridiculous. All the other dentists I consulted with concurred that Dr. Lily Chung gave me bad medical advice. I will never go back to this office. I highly recommend that if your child needs dental treatment to go somewhere else. Moreover, I contacted the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and was told that unlike what is claimed on Dr. Michelle To's website - the AAPD clearly stated that Dr. Lily Chung is NOT a member of AAPD. I do not trust this dentist or dental office and advise all parents to be wary of this dental office. read more

This is was my 4year old sons first dental visit so he was scared not knowing what to expect. Dr. Lily was wonderful ,she made him feel comfortable. She explained to him what she was going to do before each step which I think is great! She was very patient and kind with my son. Jut got back from seeing Dr. Lily Chung. It was a fantastic experience all around! The front desk person was pleasant. The assistants put our four year old at ease for his first appointment by giving him a little goody bag before. They also showed him all the tools before putting them in his mouth. Both my children are patients of Dr. Lily Chung's. They love to see her. She is gentle, kind and nurturing. When my oldest had cavities related to his braces, she fixed his affected areas painlessly. She also prescribed a strong fluoride toothpaste- as had been independently recommended by our orthodontist, as well. Took my 8 yr old there and let me tell you I wanna go there. There was fish, and video games in the weighting room, books, etc my kid was in heaven. Dr. To was really nice, kind and made my daughter really comfortable while working on her teeth. Oh and they have movies playing in front of every chair to distract the kids. I wanna go to that dentist office but that would probably be weird cause I'm definitely past that age group. This is actually the WORST dentist you can go to! We had the worst experience ever here. I would tell you to take your dentist needs somewhere else. As for the poor service, the miscommunication of pricing and how they use their services to only help their "own" and their pockets. After being accused of not being able to pay for something and told we did something that they actually told us to do for our children, this was beyond the WORST experience we have encountered in any health business. They did not want to help us they just wanted to get the money. They do not really care for the patients and just want the billing. Mind you we were clients for a while and trusted them. But their greed showed very clearly once there was money for them to get. After having the procedure done they charged us a complete different total than was spoke about in the consultation. After the procedure was completed we had no choice to pay. After the procedure was done we consulted with other dentist and they told us we got "ripped off" in a very big way. There is so much to say, but the main point is to spend your hard earned money somewhere else where the dentist cares about the patient not the billing. read more

We were referred here by friends who were very happy with their experience with this office. I took my little guy for his first dentist visit and also came away extremely happy. My son is two and was very nervous. They did everything possible to keep him calm and comfortable. They were great at explaining everything step be step, answered my questions, addressed my concerns and checked to let me know what my insurance covered. My son cried when we had to leave (they have an excellent waiting room). Just as an aside, my friend's son had a complete meltdown on his first visit and she felt they handled it perfectly. Update. 1/9 post office visit.... I went to the appt today and was not shocked at the girl who answers the phone. Her attitude fit her voice. Her manners fit my irritations. I have changed my stars to 4 star due to my experience with Dr. Lily and the girls in the back. I vented my frustration to Dr Lily and let her know that the office needs to disclose that they are OUT OF NETWORK for Aetna PPO. I let her know that I read the reviews and was skeptical on coming in today. She walked me through what she was going to do and what was needed. She understood my concern with the overall out of pocket costs and let me know it would be OK to change dentists. She was great with my kids and because of her, we will go back for cleanings only. I let her know about the disservice the receptionist was doing for the business. She said that she did not own the practice and couldn't do anything. So again, Dr To, please make some changes in your operation and you won't have bad reviews. Thank you Dr Lily. You were worth the 20% co pay. 1/8/16 I haven't even started to go to Dr To and already I am irritated with the girl who answers the phone and the girl who called to confirm the appt and gives the amount of out of pocket costs. She could not provide an intelligent answer to any of my questions or provide a logical reason for the cost of my children's services BEFORE I even get there. If my experience is just as bad as some of these reviews have been, I will be changing dentists. Which I mentioned to the girl on the phone and she could care less. Dr To, if you are seeing this today, do your business a better service and get a someone else to handle your phones. This isn't the first time I have spoken with the same girl. I have a 4 year old and he is not fond of the dentist, so finding a good, calm, pediatric dentist was very important for me. The office is great, and he loves the movies, the games, the entire look. It's great for kids. Dr To herself is nice too. She can be a bit abrupt if your child isn't cooperating, but overall, appears to be gentle and patient with the kids. I only gave it 3 stars, and not 4, simply because of the front desk. They are very friendly, and very nice, but come across as complete airheads when trying to schedule appts. I cringe when I have to call and talk to anyone. It's really difficult, and I'm not sure what the issue is. They ask you the same questions over and over, different people pick up the phone and you have to start over, they forget 1/2 way through the call why you're calling in the first place....it's really frustrating. read more

We love Dr. Lily. We started going here when we moved to California three years ago. We have since moved to Glendale but still make the 30 minute drive there because of the great care they give our three kids. We just met Dr. To on Monday and felt that she gave great care and attention to our kids as well. We really enjoy all of their dental hygienist too. I highly recommend this office. read more

Front staff was extremely rude. Can't believe the Dr hired them to work at a kids dental office. The dentist said my son needed a root canal urgently, but when I tried to book the appt, there was only 1 dentist on staff and they wouldn't accomadate my son's school schedule. The dentist also said my son needed the laughing gas, because he was difficult. A total lie. I always say next to my son during visits and he was the most well behaved kid. Then I requested x-rays to be emailed to me and the office kept ignoring me. Michelle To should be ashamed of trying so hard to recruit new patients by plastering her business card at schools, but she didn't have the decency to respond to any of my emails. I also got a 2nd and 3rd opinion and both agreed I didn't need to do anything with my son's tooth. This is the best pediatric dental practice we've been to. My kids LOVE coming here. The office has XBoxes, tons of toys, TVs playing movies, train stations. It's dental Disneyland!! The staff are fantastic with kids and put them at complete ease. Michelle To is a wonderful dentist, my kids adore her (even after having teeth pulled). I have been taking all 3 of my kids to Dr. To for about 10 years now. I have seen the transition from the old office to now (that Dr. To gutted the place and transformed it to a kids wonderland) Needless to say that the office is beautiful, CLEAN, Child friendly & most of all Dr. To ALWAYS has her patients best interest in mind. She always recommends what she, as a mother herself would do for her son. She has always made my kids and I feel comfortable and been accommodating. I have refereed several people to her and will continue to. Some of these reviews are laughable. We as parents allowed our kids to have tough dental problems, then expect it all to be fun and games to have it fixed. I have seen and met everyone in this office. Great Pediatric Dentist office. The dental assistants are great and the doctors are wonderful as well. Front desk is always very nice and professional. My son was 4 when we took him the first time and he had a total melt- down...the dental assistants and doctors were so patient and nice. They did not let us leave until the appointment was finished and allowed our son time to get settled. Every appointment after his first was a breeze. Bonus...they have games and a dolphin to ride in the waiting room. They also allow the children to take home a special "prize" after their appt. We are beyond happy with our dentist! read more

I took my sons to see this dentist and was shocked to find out one of them had 8 cavities ....as you can imagine I was horrified...I wanted it taken care of so we proceeded with the fillings. My son had the worst experience and was so traumatized. This dentist should not advertise as a pediatric dentist as she told me she didnt have time for the in and out of the chair my child was doing...she also wanted to perform"root canals" per se on 2 of his teeth. After we got out of there I went for a second opinion and have been told my son needs 2 filling and no crowns... she filled 3 of his teeth and who knows if he even needed those...I am completely disgusted with this dentist and would caution anyone who goes there. My child is now completely terrified of the dentist BUT fortunately we have found someone who is a real PEDIATRIC dentist.. read more

My five year old son has been going here for two years and my two year old daughter for one year. I have nothing but good things to say. My kids love it, and the quality of the care seems great. My daughter developed a couple of cavities on her front teeth and like one of the negative Nellies down there the Dr. prescribed a prescription fluoride toothpaste, but made it clear that we were only supposed to rub a small amount on the cavities and not brush her teeth with the stuff. Doing this has halted the development of the cavities and we haven't had to resort to drilling and filling. I wish I could find a dentist for myself that I liked as well as I like these people. I would take the negative reviews with a grain of salt as I haven't experienced anything to support those claims. My experience so far has been great. read more

The first time I took my 3 yr old for a cleaning he was cooperative. But i was surprised at the lack of kid-friendliness of the personalities of the Dr and hygenists. He was just plopped down on the chair and they just started cleaning. They never even took their masks off to greet him which I thought was unimpressive. They made no effort to explain what was going on. The 2nd and 3rd times we went were horrific with my son screaming on the floor. We decided to try an established pediatric dentist and the difference was immediate in my son's reception of the whole process. He'll miss the videogames, tv and the great selection of toys but he's no longer afraid of the "masked creatures who do things in his mouth". read more
