I also went to orthopedics here with Dr. Rosenberg who was also great. Since then, I moved over to the regular dentist's at SCDG around 2015 and wow - what a disaster this place has become! The receptions were extremely unfriendly, incompetent (they would bill my father's account for my dentist appt after I've been on my own insurance for well over 5 years???), and the quality of dentists have gone down completely. I left SCDG a few years ago and my new dentist immediately noticed how bad my fillings were and even asked for the name of my dentist because he didn't think that this person should be working on patients. I've spent thousands fixing what studio city dental group ruined. My sister was also told her fillings were done so poorly that cavities appeared underneath them and she now needs crowns. She's spending over $8k to have them fixed. I'm waiting for the day this dental group gets sued for malpractice and shuts down. Trust me: STAY AWAY!

I initially came in for what was supposed to be a routine cleaning. After X-rays and a very brief exam, I was told I needed a deep cleaning instead, so I left without receiving the regular cleaning I had scheduled. The actual time I spent with the provider was only a few minutes after waiting about an hour. That approval process for the deep cleaning turned into months of back-and-forth. My insurance initially denied most of the recommended deep cleaning because they determined there wasn't sufficient justification. During that time, I kept explaining to the dental office that I had never actually received the regular cleaning I originally came in for, so I was now overdue for any cleaning at all. Now for the worst part -- fast forward, and the exact same thing happened again. I scheduled another routine cleaning and, once again, was told I needed a deep cleaning instead. Once again, I left without receiving the regular cleaning I had booked. When I finally had this deep cleaning performed, I paid approximately $280 out of pocket. The entire procedure lasted about 10-15 minutes. Everything I've since learned about scaling and root planing suggests that this is an unusually short amount of time for that type of treatment, especially for an entire appointment. Twice I scheduled a regular cleaning. Twice I was told I needed a deep cleaning instead. Twice I left without the cleaning I had actually scheduled. Then I ultimately paid out of pocket for a procedure that felt extremely rushed. I can't say whether my experience is typical, but after going through this twice, I no longer have confidence in the treatment recommendations or communication from this office. If you're considering becoming a patient here, I'd recommend asking detailed questions about why a deep cleaning is being recommended, what treatment you'll actually receive that day, and exactly what is being billed to your insurance.

I am not gonna criticize the dentists there. They seem to be doing a decent job. What I am appalled about is the lack of transparency regarding their prices and the pressure they put on you to have more work done even if you don't want it. The lady in the front was rude, pushy, forces you into getting a 900 dollar membership to receive discounted prices and a yearly "free"cleaning. They make you pay first and then email you a link to a bill 2 pages long... probably to make you feel better about the amount you are being charged for! My procedure was simple X-rays, beam scan, pull the root out. Insert metal implant, and then a crown. I needed an additional sinus lift which I had no issue paying for. But I was told half way through the procedure by the front lady that my implant was gonna be 4793 which I believe is way enough for a regular implant ( not including my sinus lift which was an additional 1530) ... but nope at the time I was supposed to get the abutment and the crown I was told I needed to pay an additional 4654! One tooth would have come up to 9450 without the sinus lift. I had no complications nothing done other than the sinus lift. It took over a year to have half the procedure done. Another thing that sucks there the only dentist that is qualified to do implant comes once a month! Great! They ultimately made me believe I misunderstood when I paid the first 4800... that it was only the implant not the actual tooth! Believe me, I would have been cleary told that the whole thing was gonna cost over 10k I would have been seeing another dentist from the get go. I am not criticizing their work but their lack of transparency, lack of honesty and their prices over all. My old dentist finished the job for less than half want they wanted for the crown. Unless you have 10k for a tooth I would not recommend this place at all!!!
