The Bruschetta Dried Herb Blend is excellent too. Just add water and a little olive oil and you have an appetizer (with crackers or bread), a pasta sauce or spoon over chicken. Some of my favorite infused oils: Lemon Rosemary Green Chile Garlic The Harvest Fig Balsamic Vinegar is excellent as a finishing sauce, on Bruschetta or as a glaze for chicken. So many possibilities. When we walked in, there was a man leaving and the person working the counter made a mean comment about him that I couldn't tell if it was light ribbing about one of her friends/good customer or if she was actually being disparaging towards him. She was fairly friendly towards us, even though she was very busy doing whatever it was she was doing. I was very interested in getting some honey but we weren't allowed any samples, which reading other reviews, I feel like we should have been offered some samples. There was a large variety of different honeys and some of these sounded so good but I really didn't want to buy such a large portion without knowing what it tastes like. We also didn't end up buying anything because there were no jars less than 4 ounces. You'd think that a touristy spot like this would have some travel size options. I didn't want to check my bag for a large honey I wasn't sure of the taste of, so we ended up leaving without a purchase.

The parking lot is kind of small, but we were able to find a spot to squeeze into on our visit. When you enter the building you'll see an impressive self-serve section and I noticed quite a few people loading up their plates or to go boxes. There's an island of ingredients to make your own salad and a couple of home made soups, and another area for hot items. My mom and I decided to share a squash soup, a small salad, and an assortment of hot items including South Carolina pulled pork, mac n cheese, biscuits and gravy, and mashed potatoes. I also decided to try a local kombucha which was really refreshing. We grabbed our utensils close to the exit and headed upstairs to enjoy our food. After we devoured everything we perused the main floor and bought a lot of Montana based goodies including teas, Bequet caramels, soaps, and skincare products. Suffice to say I spent quite a bit of money here, but I'm happy to support local and be able to share the Montana spirit with my family and friends! I'd say Community Food Co-op is kind of like a cross between Trader Joes and Whole Foods, but with a great emphasis on sustainability and local goods. Service is great though and the line moved quickly. Love that they are so willing to give you samples of their flavors. They have classic flavors, some with their own personal twist, and also some pretty original flavors. You order at the register and then they call you when your order is ready. I feel like they are pretty generous with their scoops too. My youngest got the salted caramel and peanut butter Oreo. I got the honey lavender and banana pudding. We were both really happy with our orders. They have a ton of awards inside, so this place is definitely worth checking out when you're in the area!
