Which one did the butcher pick?

Overpriced meat, delicious fish! Watch out, I've been going here to save myself the drive into Bozeman for Steak because I thought "it's got to be worth it right?" It's not... Last straw was picking one steak out for the wife, and just taking the other the butcher grabbed like a idiot and not realizing until I got home the difference in quality between the two. $33.99lb for prime rib eye. They pulled the whole get the old stuff out on me when I wasn't looking, went back for a quiet return. I thought it would be obvious to them to. That didn't go well... Wouldn't take it back, I don't like to complain but it was a principle thing to go back and show them. I know this is petty and high maintenance but for close to double the price I'll never be back.

We got the Sirloin Flap with the house marinade, the Asian salad and Dijon potato salad out of the display case.

Solid spot for a sandwich…read more Came on a Thurs for lunch just before noon, and didn't have any issues finding a place to sit. I asked the staff what sandwich they recommended and mentioned the Turkey & Avocado PLT ($13.50) was the most popular and their favorite. It was a good choice! Casual atmosphere and welcoming staff made it an overall positive experience.

We discovered Mavens Market because we were in search of brunch and the favorable reviews on Yelp brought us here. The four of us each ordered their own breakfast item. * Eggs & Ham $13 * Greek Goddess $13 * Avocado & Tomato Toast $13 x 2 First off, the bread they use for the sandwiches is so good and they do a superb job getting such a great toast on it. I tried both the Eggs & Ham and the Greek Goddess and they were both very tasty. (Each of my kids had their own Avocado & Tomato Toast, and they were not sharing nor did they have any leftovers.) It does take a little while for the sandwiches to be made, so don't come here if you're in a rush. (They also have a steady line up of orders coming in for pick up, so just be aware.) The great thing it that it gives you a chance to check out their cheese shop. We actually returned a few hours later to grab some lunch and got a couple of different sandwiches this time. *The Full Maven $13 *Grilled Mozzarella Panini $13 Again, both sandwiches were really good and traveled well. I actually saved half and reheated it on the pan the next day. It was still very good. The cheese shop next door is adorable. I love wandering through shops like these and would probably visit often if I lived in town. Since we were flying out in a few hours, I had to resist purchasing anything since we only brought carry-ons. I was very tempted though! But you can easily find anything and everything you would want for a charcuterie board, night out, picnic, etc. I could have easily filled a whole basket of yumminess to enjoy.

The mixed salad was nothing special - hastily put together and the salad looks. Their crab cake was delicious. But, my husband and I decided to bite the bullet. There aren't many options for Christmas Eve dining in town anyway. Our waitress, who seemed to also be one of the bartenders was very sweet. We sat close to the entrance so we got a little cold when the front doors opened but it wasn't bad overall. The interior was very cute and inviting. We ordered way too much food but I'll break it down dish by dish... * Lemon Drop: Worth every penny. I wish I had more in a glass. * Bone Marrow: Not bad. It could have used a tad more seasoning but the sourdough bread definitely helped elevate the flavor. I wish the bread was toasted but no big deal. * French Onion Soup: Delicious! My husband hates onions but loved the soup here. It was especially tasty on a semi-cold Christmas Eve night. * 16 oz. Ribeye: Cooked perfectly. I love a cast iron seared steak and the beef tallow made it even better. We decided to split a steak - already knowing we'd order way more than two people could eat. * Lobster Mac & Cheese: It was much better than I was expecting. * Heirloom Baby Carrots: There was something about this dish that just didn't do it for me. I'm not sure if it was the spices, or lack of, but still better than others. * Cornbread skillet: A reliable side if it's something you're craving but nothing to write home about. * Cookie skillet: Not very exciting. The cookie was okay but the huckleberry ice cream made it much better. * Dow's 10-year: Treat yourself! This port was the perfect balance of sweet and smooth. My husband also ordered french fries and there was nothing special about 'em. He's not a fan of truffle fries so these were plain. I personally think the truffle fries would have been a better option. All in all, our bill was about $240. Definitely not an every day dining experience for us but we're happy to come back, with a few menu alterations, on special occasions.
