Our tree usually does well through the holiday season and smells delicious. They have a good selection of precut; you have to go early in the season to cut your own. The staff are super friendly and helpful with getting the tree netted and strapped to the car. This outing is a Christmas tradition for a reason!

Nyberg's has a well-organized operation but the trees in their fields were pretty disappointing. My wife and I said to one another it felt a little bit like the Charlie Brown Christmas Tree Farm. In addition to that, Nyberg's charged for many extras (e.g., $4.50 for netting, $4.50 for shaking) that would have been included at most lots. In December 2022, Nyberg's was charging $75 per tree of any size cut on their farm, which is about the same price as you'd pay at a lot in Petaluma (prices increase as you get closer to San Francisco).

We have been coming here for decades! First when I was a kid with my parents, and now as a "not so…read moremuch kid!" with my son's family. This place is a great visit for kids and adults - kids can wander, pose with many Christmas props and just pretend they're in a real forest. The adults can wander as well, for you really need to check out all corners of this place for the perfect tree. They have a great variety, a great choice of sizes, and reasonable prices for trees freshly trucked in from Oregon. We went with a Fraser Fir tis year, and it has light green branch tips which really contrast nicely with the deeper blue-green needles of the tree body. For a 9-footer it was $128. More than we usually spend, but it is also taller than we usually get! They have a few locations in Marin, but this is our go-to one. The service is great, and if you need help getting the tree to the check-out there are always helpers; they will also help bring it to your car and secure it with twine, so if you are height challenged, age challenged, upper body strength challenged or just wearing your favorite Christmas sweater that day, no need to worry! They will also fresh cut the bottom for you (to enhance water take-up) and if you don't have a tree stand, they have those for sale or can use a tree spike stand (no water reservoir, though, with that one). And don't forget a bottle of water treatment to help the tree last throughout the season; it really helps. And if you need fresh wreaths, they have a lot of variety for you as well! The day after Thanksgiving was the busiest we've seen it, but beautiful weather and a need for joy early this Christmas season (bah humbug year that it has been!) brought us here a little earlier than usual. It was still a no stress, fun and successful hunt! Barring your going to cut your own fresh tree, this is the next best option. And . . . we got a free mug on the way out this year! Yayyy!!

They were still unloading trees for the truck when we arrived but I literally found the perfect tree within minutes and it was on top of my car five minutes later. The folks that work here are helpful and quick. There is only street parking, but they walked the tree to my car.

Nevertheless, we found one we liked, but when we inquired about it, we were told they weren't sure it was for sale (it was priced for sale and there was nothing to indicate it was being held out for any reason). They called the owner to come over from across the street. The owner arrived and also said she wasn't sure she could sell it. She said she set it aside because her daughter might want it, but she wasn't sure. Meanwhile, we stood there, willing customers, ready to purchase. Presumably if the daughter decided she didn't want it, we could have had it, but who knows when that would have been. Kind of a lousy way to treat your customers. We left and went over to Friedman's where we got a nearly identical tree for about $30 less. But to end on a positive note, the two employees we spoke to who were obviously put in an awkward situation were very pleasant and did their best to be helpful. Kudos to them. Not so much the owner.

So my boyfriend, the kids and myself went tree hunting and because he used to work here in his late teens we decided to revisit the area and jog his memory. The kids were put immediately to work with one holding the saw, the other holding the tree measurer, and the last one with the cart. We found our tree in a short while and decided on cutting it at about 7-8 ft. If you're looking for convenience, this isn't the place to go. If you're looking for the memories or experience of watching the kiddos wrestle the tree and fight the tree saw while taking tons of pictures, this is it. You can also buy some hot cocoa and pastries from the 4H kids and pet the bunnies they're raising.

Yes, local nurseries tend to have higher prices than big box stores but the difference buying local is vastly different. You are able to chat with the staff there who are all very well informed with plants. Additionally, there are varieties not available at the chain store. Shopping local is an experience - even just admiring the flowers, gardens & scenery is delightful. I couldn't be happier with my sensational new plants! Now, it's time to get digging
